Summary: The story of how you find out your best friend is an assassin. Jacob Frye x Reader Part 1 Part 2
Finding out that Jacob was involved in a fighting ring just made you more curious about your friend and who he was. Based on his skill in fighting and the money he made off of it, you wondered if it was his full time job.
Come to think of it, you met his twin sister before, who you got alone wonderfully with, but no one else from his family. And evertime you offered to visit, he always canceled so you never got to know where he lived. You never pushed too hard for answers to respect his boundaries, but your curiosity was starting to drive you mad.
Your determination and confusion was only fuled when you found a mysterious letter on your doorstep one morning.
"You've never seen the real Jacob Frye. If you truly wish to know who he is, you must see him in the town. Go to the alley between the housing and factory on Jackson street at 8:00 pm if you want to see his true colors."
A carriage waited for you on the main street outside of your house hidden away from curious eyes. Then when you felt it was time, you made your way behind the industrial building. It was the loud shady area of town that you last visited with Jacob. This place was dirty, loud and frightening. Dark shadows fell on every corner and the deafening clanking sounds from the working factory kept you on edge. Maybe that was why you paid no attention to the first figure that scrambled and stumbled into the alley ahead of you.
He was afraid and held his hands up in defense and fear. You paid him little attention until someone you knew stepped into the flickering light of the gas lamps. Jacob.
Jacob gripped the pleading man by the front of his shirt and light reflected off the brass knuckles Jacob wore as he raised his fist to him. Logically you knew you did not have the full picture, that there must have been something else going on to justify what you were witnessing, but your heart said otherwise.
"Jacob?" You called out to him in a weak, questioning voice and hoped he did not react. You wanted it to be a case of mistaken identity, but it was not.
"(y/n)!" Jacob looked up at you in shock, his mouth was hung open and his eyes were wide. The expression immediately vanished when the man he attacked bolted down the alley. Jacob froze, unable to decide whether he should stay and face you or catch his target.
"Who sent you here?" He demanded then immediately changed the subject, "You can get in a lot of trouble for being seen here with me. Please, just leave." Worry seeped into his voice when he asked you to leave, but before you could make your decision, he himself ran off into the maze of alleyways.
Jacob avoided you for days after the incident. You patiently waited on him to feel ready to confront the topic, but your patience wore thin. This went on for three days until you became determined to see the man who wrote you the letter. His name was Maxwell Roth, the owner of one of the nearby factory districts. You recalled hearing Jacob talk about him before to Evie and from what you over heard, he was Jacob's business partner.
Maxwell Roth's office sat on the top floor of his manufacturing factory. Since you were never invited to the factory, you worried over how your unwelcomed arrival would stand with the man of questionable character. So you stood outside the carriage that was parked in the docking area of the factory. It seemed appropriate since all the carriages carrying shipments to and from this building stayed there. You took a deep breath, asked the driver to wait on you for a half hour at most and proceed towards the front door.
It was actually a sliding bay door that was as large as a wall and, thanks to the wheels that were attached to it, slid open when you pushed it. Beyond the wall was a mess of fire, smoke and sweat.
The ringing and clanging sound of iron striking iron was so loud workers had to shout to each other just to be heard. Strong men covered in sweat labored over shaping metal with heavy hammers and sparks flew at them with every hit.
Small children with soot covered faces ran around the factory floor to complete their assigned tasks. Others shoveled piles of dark coal into furnaces that belched out dark pillars of smoke. Metal rafters criss-crossed high above your head and added to the massive size of the building. The ceiling and rafters were so high above your head, you had to look up to even notice them.
You wandered up a set of narrow, but massively tall stairs that ran along the front of the left wall. They lead up to a small looking office that had windows covering the upper half of every wall so the manager could always keep an eye on his workers. Even though it seemed impossible for anyone to notice you among the chaos of the floor, you quickly ascended the stairs and was spotted.
The boss resided in the office, sitting behind a large desk with a smug smile as he waited on you to enter the room. He obviously knew you were coming after all.
"Mr. Roth" you politely greeted from the doorway before stepping in, "I came here regarding the letter you sent me a few days ago. I did not expect you to manage your workers so poorly."
He stood and chuckled at your naive expectations and your guts for having your opening statement be so rude and rejecting. His lack of communication angered you and you chose to speak for him in an attempt to get him to talk.
"Jacob. He works against you doesn't he?" You questioned bluntly after piecing everything together. Maybe Jacob worked with this man at one point in time, but there was no way he would tolerate this type of business.
"Yes he does. He attacks my industry, kills my best men. All to sabotage our work. "
"Based off what I've seen here. It seems he's doing the right thing. You make children slaves, create deadly work spaces for your people and ignore their needs and further the poverty in this town. You need to be stopped."
"I work against Starrick just like him. We should be partners!" He objected, "but simple people like you and that rat don't seem to understand that. Besides, if Jacob was doing such good work, why would he hide it? We all know he doesn't want you or anyone to know about his work. I must say he's done quite well at keeping the two separate. You're the only person he knows that I've been able to track down after all. Besides his sister."
"That's why you sent me the letter? To expose him and have me betray him? To make me believe he is as evil as you?"
"Oh, I had more in mind than just that." He said with a smile as he drummed his fingers along the desk. "It lured you out of his safety, which is more than I could have asked for." Alarm bells went off in your head as you realized this whole conversation was made to stall and distract you. By the time you turned around there was already a large figure blocking the doorway.
He reached for your arm, but you quickly moved it away and punched the hulking man right in the throat. Out of breath and confused by the sudden turn of events, he became an easy guard to slip past.
Your dress was restrictive enough to slow you down as you raced to the carriage, but not enough to let you get caught. Due to the extra fabric that fell in front of your feet, it was also very easy to trip on if you miss stepped as you weaved your way through the active working floor.
Thankfully, your driver was alert and sped off the moment you were in the carriage. The momentum caused you to fall in your seat and everything jostled from side to side. You were successfully out pacing the goons when your driver was attacked. He fell off the stand and tumbled down the road as the horses charged on from fear. The carriage was now out of control.
Immediately you leaned out of the carriage and gripped the ledge that was above the door way and found footholds along the bottom of it. While gripping onto the jerking vehicle with every ounce of strength you had, you shimmied along the carriage till you were up front. You refused to look down while moving, for the blurring ground was only a reminder of how fast you were moving and even though it was not at the speed of a train, it was terrifying.
You placed yourself behind the reigns and pulled on them while talking softly to the animals. They slowed but were still panicked and uncontrollable as they whined and pulled from the direction you guided them in. Soon, they calmed down with the help of your soft voice, and once you regained control, you pulled the whole carriage around towards the fight.
You placed the carriage protectively in front of your driver and jumped down from the bench. His leg was wounded, and his body was bruised from the fall. Scratches lined the sides of his arms, and blood ran down them as he used them to protect himself. Slinging his arm around your neck, you helped him into the carriage as your enemies surged forward.
You jumped back into your carriage before the enemy could grab you and sped down the road once again. It still felt impossible for you to have full control over the carriage's movements and you had to remind yourself that you were controlling animals, not a machine. It was overwhelming with the wind in your face and sounds you could not tune out.
You swerved as a carriage collided with the back side of your own. You struggled to keep straight and avoid hitting pedestrians while you were pushed further and further towards the building walls along the right edge of the road. At this point, it was almost too late to fight back since there was no wiggle room, but you tried.
You pulled your reigns harshly to the left, the horses whined in surprise and your carriage jerked left with enough force to move your opponent. Then you repeated your actions without giving them time to recover, causing a wheel to break under the stress and immobilizing the enemy vehicle. The victory was short lived as two other carriages replaced the decommissioned one.
Since they could easily wedge you between each other and make sandwich you, you decided to run. The horses darted forward at your command and kept a fast pace. You locked your eyes on the road ahead and refused to look back as the thugs gloating and yells plagued you. They were closing in, and it was a reality you did not want to witness until you heard a figure fall onto your carriage's roof.
You did your best to steady your breath and remain calm as the hijacker only came closer to you. The fear only increased as he sat next to you and revealed himself to be your missing friend. You were not ready to face him after everything you just learned, and the anger etched in his handsome features was not helping ease your worry.
He seemed to take his anger out on his environment. He took the reigns from you and slammed the side of your carriage into one of the enemy's until they were driven off the road. Then, you heard the sound of gunshots and instinctively bowed your head. Jacob did not though. He went rigid then looked over his shoulder to see where they were coming from.
He studied the figures behind him, then spotted a passenger on the last carriage that was running them down. He threw the reigns back into your hands, giving you control over the carriage once again, and order you to steady it along the other.
Without question you did as he asked as he returned to the roof. With a running leap, he landed on the other cart, pulled one man from his seat to throw him to the road and stabbed the driver so he too fell. The carriage began to swerve now under the frightened horses' control. Instead of taking it over, he returned to the carriage you steadied, took the reigns, and sat in silence as he drove.
You had never been so afraid of the man's calm and calculated rage. He never gave you a reason to fear him before. But now that you did, tension and fright weighed down on you as you sat next to him in silence the whole ride home. You did not dare say a word as he was left quiet and stewing in his own anger. Thinking over everything he was going to say to you the whole ride. He felt his anger and frustration keep building onto itself until you arrived at the train hideout where he would let loose.
"I told you!" Jacob cut himself off feeling overcome with anger, "I told you to leave this alone."
"Don't you dare blame this on me," you shot back with just as much venom in your voice, "The only reason I was even there tonight was because you just left and it worried me," your words quieted Jacob's anger as he absorbed the meaning of your words. "I was looking for some type of rational explanation for what I saw you do in that alley. So sorry if my actions seemed a little rash, but at least he was offering to help."
"Help? You didn't even know who he really was!" You fell silent, feeling hurt by him calling you ignorant. "You just looked for your answers, not caring who you were trusting to get them."
"What's going on over here?" Evie questioned as she entered the train car. You took her distracting entrance as an opportunity to wipe tears from your eyes and calm your beating heart.
"She knows." Jacob replied simply with annoyance lining his voice.
"About what?"
"About us...Evie. This whole thing. Roth told her everything."
"Technically, I don't know everything. Just that you've been killing blighters and other men." You stated then whisper to the side, "which I am not entirely against since they're mad men."
Evie just shook her head in sane disappointment and gestured for you to sit down by pointing to a booth seat. You listened, arms still crossed and your body still tense. You glared at Jacob like a pouty child. Maybe you would feel ashamed if he was not doing the same thing to you.
"Both of you need to stop your bickering first off and figure out what really happened." Jacob attempted to cut off his sister but was quickly shut down, "Why don't you start (y/n). Seeing Jacob here cannot hold his tongue."
"Well, Evie. I started getting mysterious letters that I now know were from Maxwell Roth. I knew I should have ignored them, but they promised me answers to things about you and Jacob I had to know....then one came with an address on it."
"So you just start trusting to meet any stranger on the street?"
"Jacob!" Evie barked at him sharply, causing the young man to pull back. Evie then changed her tone to address you, "Roth manipulated you then. Used your curiosity against you?"
"Yes," you admitted in shame, "I came across Jacob fighting men in an alley. I left before I saw too much and didn't want to believe what I saw. I knew there was more to the situation, but Jacob disappeared on me. And Roth promised to tell me what happened that night, and I was desperate to clear his name." Jacob's eyes shot up towards you in surprise, and his guard lowered. Not many people gave a ruff looking man like him a second chance.
"He wanted to meet me at his factory today. So I went. He told me Jacob was killing his 'innocent' workers and tried to turn me on him. When I wouldn't, he sent men to kidnap me or worse. I ran, then Jacob appeared and....saved me."
"And Jacob, what did you see?" Evie asked.
"I saw her at the factory grounds. Getting into a fight she didn't belong in just because she was curious and too trusting." Anger still resonated in his voice and his arms tensed as he clenched his fists. "I saw her commandeer a run away carriage with men chasing after her."
"So you're upset at him for ignoring you and you're upset at her for being in danger. But it seems to me if you were honest to her, she wouldn't be in danger." An odd sense of pride washed over you as she supported your side of the story, "but (y/n) you shouldn't have been so foolish to fall for this trap."
"It's not like I knew I was getting into something this risky." You fought back. Jacob stood to his feet and paced as he mumbled curses, annoyed by your insolence.
"I'll tell you everything. Jacob and even I are a part of a clandestine organization. We're assassins. Our purpose is to restore peace, order, and freedom to this city's people. We are working with the Rooks and other officials and our work has changed this place more than you know."
"So you kill bad people in order to help change the oppressive hold or influence corrupt people might have on the city?"
"Yes. And the man you met tonight, Maxwell is an ex-Templar and one of our main enemies."
"He mentioned someone named Starrick. Said you both worked against him. Is he a Templar as well?"
"Yes. We can go over more in the morning if you want to stay the night."
"I'll make sure the Rooks know she's on our side," Jacob stated before quickly leaving the train car and entering the next one.
Evie was much more caring about being a good host to you. She grabbed extra blankets and a pillow from compartments that were hidden through the train and made a temporary bed for you on one of the plush train seats. She also gave you a tour and showed you where to grab some food if you got hungry. She also advised you on which cars to avoid, as they were used as bedrooms for herself and one for her brother.
The train felt endless as you walked from car to car, making you realize the scale at which the two assassins are working at to own so much. To put it simply, they were rich and earned that money through their grim deeds.
You decided to turn in early for the night, your mind swimming in new information that maybe you would be better prepared to understand in the morning.

Summary: The story of how you find out your best friend is an assassin. Jacob Frye x Reader Part 1 Part 2
It was half out of curiosity for where he was going and half out of need for a companion to wander town with that you followed Jacob when you caught him wandering by the shops. Either way, you were willing to follow him and bother him for a few hours like you always did.
You saw him dive into an alley that was far down the street. You followed his course and found yourself sinking into an area that grew filth. It was the seedier part of town, and you were not surprised to find him going to such a place. Not far into your walk, you could hear a ruckus behind a closed door. The building seemed to be very active and the only place you would find Jacob.
The door opened and unleashed sounds into the open air that were previously stopped from escaping due to the heavy wood door. You heard a crowd's worth of voices shout in a loud uproar. Half were cheering in joy and half were groaning in disappointment. Some were spewing threats and others were pulling teasing jeers and jokes. A thin layer of cigarette smoke drifted through the air and the musty smell of alcohol filled the room.
You stood on top of the stairs and scanned the crowd for Jacob, but found it useless since all you could see were people's backs. You then descended down a flight of wooden stairs into darkness and the faint glow of gas-light lanterns.
Past the base of the steps was a sloped dirt floor and a crowd of people surrounding an event you could not see. From the top of the stairs, you spotted a wooden pen made of barrel wood and wondered what it held.
"Like to make a bet lass?" You tried not to jump as a man approached you, holding paper tickets. So that was what was going on.
"Not yet." You lied. You would never bet on such an event. Now you were just planning on confronting Jacob and questioning why he would be in a place that allowed him to bet all of his money away.
"Well. You better bet fast. Man who's in the ring is a sure winner." He encouraged, before blending back into the crowd. You were sure it was some kind of sales tactic the man was trying to use on you and did not realize he was being truthful.
You slipped through the crowd of huddled men all the way up to the wooden fencing that created a circle in the middle of the room. Once you established a spot for yourself, you looked up to find the man that drew you here in the first place and found yourself blushing heavily and averting your gaze.
Jacob stood in the ring, shirtless and sweaty from fighting. His hair was slicked back and disheveled and he had a white sash tied around his waist that rose up to his belly button. You tried to look away from him out of respect since it felt improper to see him in such a state. Jacob was your friend, meaning you couldn't ogle over him.
The unexpected sight made you blush and also made you realize how attractive you found him, but at the time you refused to admit to that. No, you were just flustered since it was so sudden, it was not due to attraction.
You peaked over at some better's cards, looking for any excuse to distract yourself. The cards were labeled "Round two, round three, round four etc." and a written dollar amount. Since the round number was written by hand, telling you the better chose the number and if the contestant lasted than many rounds or more, they won.
A few men held cards that had one of two options circled "challenger 1" and "challenger 2" and a written dollar amount, meaning they bet on teams instead of rounds. You stopped distracting yourself with cards and managed to watch the main attraction.
Jacob's fists were wrapped with cloth and he wiped sweat off his forehead with them, as he stared down one of his three enemies which were equal or taller than him. His muscles were tight and coiled as he brought an arm up to block a right hook aimed for his head and countered it with a sharp jab to the abdomen.
He then leaned back as another hit was thrown in his direction, and sharply kicked at the man's ankle after dodging, then grabbed his outstretched arm and threw him to the ground. The attacks were so sudden, the third challenger did not even have time to help assist his team mate. With his last opponent, Jacob struck him across the face and then bent his opponent's arm behind his back till he was hunched over, so he could bring his knee up into his face to knock him out.
When Jacob rose he locked eyes with you and signaled for the match to be over. Someone threw a white towel to him, and he wiped his face as he walked to meet you against the ring's wall. You still felt a faint blush on your face and jittery nerves, but you pressed them down and acted as if the blush was gone.
"So. You make extra money in fight clubs I see."
"And you're following me I see." He mocked and placed the rag against the pen before grabbing a shirt and jumping over the pen. "Didn't you have something to do in town?"
"Just got sidetracked. Where did you learn to fight like that?"
"Training. Let's get out of here. I don't want to run into anyone." You headed towards the door, where Jacob traded in his ticket for some cash and quickly returned to the street as if you did not discover one of Jacob's secrets.

Keigo Takami (Hawks) x Reader
Summary: A misunderstanding occurs when you stumble upon Keigo with the League of Villians members
It wasn't supposed to happen this way. You weren't supposed to be on patrol, Hawks made sure of it. Yet here you were, casually walking down the street and towards him and members of the league of villians.
"Hawks?" You called out to your friend, who was not facing you as he ducked into an alley. Confused by him randomly appearing on your route, you followed him.
The alley was pitch black with the only light coming in from the exits where light from the street crept in. It seemed like it was abandoned until you heard another voice speak up.
"Aww so you're the unlucky one to stumble upon us huh?" You froze up, realizing you were facing a high level member of the league all on your own. Himiko Toga. You must have seen her run into the alley, not Hawks.
Using your mana manipulation quirk, you created a ball of glowing energy in your hand, ready to throw it at the first sign of an attack and daring her to try anything.
Pulling out her blade, she quickly lunged toward you. You reactively sidestepped the attack, the knife's edge barely grazing your arm to draw a thin line of blood.
You turned on your heels so you were facing her after her attack ended. She looked down at her knife, "Hmm...not that much, but we'll fix that soon."
Being the energetic person she was she immediately dove into another flurry of attacks. Talking through them as if it was nothing.
She swipped at you, hand over hand, breaking through every opaque purple tinted wall of mana you brought up. She was trying to wear you down with fast attacks.
Suddenly struck you from behind, blue flames hitting you square in the back and sending you to the ground. A burning sensation ran down your back and the distraction gave Toga an opening.
She pinned you to the ground, blade pressed firmly against your throat as she happily smiled down at you. Dabi slowly walked towards you. You first saw his shoes just to the side of your head and looked up at him with a glare.
"You gonna take care of her? Or should I?" He questioned, conjuring a blue flame in his hand. At first you assumed he was talking to Toga, until you saw a familiar figure on the rooftop.
His gold eyes still shown through the darkness as a cold glare and his silhouette never seemed more imposing. Hawks was rarely this serious and it always frightened you when he was. He casually glided down to your side, no hint of concern or worry in his eyes as they met yours.
He held your gaze, hands still stuffed in his pockets as always when he turned his attention to Dabi to respond, "I mean. The whole loyalty test would be useless if I didn't at least try to kill her."
"Hawks?" You desperately searched for any flicker of emotion in his eyes and found none. That was when you knew you had to get out of there.
Using your hips, you managed to throw Toga off of you and quickly knocked her out with a harsh hit to her head. You immediately tried to run, but something held you back.
"Not so fast little bird." Hawks teased in a dark tone. Your heels dragged against the concrete as you were drawn back towards the center of the alley.
"This will be interesting." Dabi quipped, stepping back to let the fight take place.
Keigo held two of his feathers as swords and carefully circled around you, testing how you would react. Already feeling worn from the previous fight, you were not too eager to pull the first move but had no choice.
You created small razor sharp disk and threw them in his direction. He easily dodged or sliced through each one. Then he swung his feather sword down at you in a diagonal strike. You quickly produce a sword of your own and locked blades with him.
"Why are you doing this?"
"There's some things you'll just never understand." He crypticaly replied, "Motivation is one of them."
Then he began deploying his feathers. They circled around you, making you feel like you were trapped inside the eye of a tornado. You threw him off of you as the next round of attack occured.
Like Toga, he relentlessly barraged you with swift attacks. You blocked as many as you could, but some managed to punch their way through and cut you.
You were pulling your punches against him. After years of sparring together he could tell. He knew how strong you really were. He was just surprised that after all he had done, you still would not out right fight him. Why?
He retreated from the fight, standing across from you with his weapons lowered and his defenses down. It seemed like he was catching his breath but it felt like he was buying you time to restore your energy.
Intentional or not, that's just what he was doing. You took a break as he did. You felt your energy become restored enough for one big move, and you were going to take advantage of that the best you could.
You created three different walls to cage the villians in place. One wall in front, one behind them and one above to prevent Hawks from flying off. The move was going to be very draining, but as long as you kept it up you could distance yourself enough to escape. You ran from the alley, never looking back and headed home. The only thing that filled your head now was wondering what to do with Hawks.

Songs that Describe their Romantic Relationships or Character Par 1/ 2
Himiko Toga
Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo
She's someone who wants to relive their childhood since she had such a bad one
The lyrics (I feel like no one wants me/ And I hate the way I'm perceived/ I only have two real friends/And lately, I'm a nervous wreck) shows her relationship with the League of Villians and her own opinion of herself
This song shows the rejection she feels from society even after trying to fit in with her quirk
She just wants to feel loved by someone, but deep down believes she'll never get that
I feel like the aggressiveness and peppiness of the song fits her
Keigo Takami
The Girl by City and Colour
Would definitely use nicknames like my girl and babe as well as silly ones like love bird and baby bird.
He is such a sap and will use any opportunity he gets to show how much he loves you. (Even if it's in public and looks silly)
He'd yell I love you from across the room if he had the opportunity
Always wants to show how much he appreciates his partner by giving them random gifts
He understands that being in a relationship with a pro-hero isn't easy and wants to show he recognizes their sacrifice (especially when he's on longer missions)
Katsuki Bakugou
I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace
He is in total denial at first when he realizes he like you to the point he'd avoid you so he didn't have to face his feelings
Takes this boy a life or death situation after a mission to finally admit his feelings
He's genuinely confused about romantic love and what it feels like. So when he first develops a crush he doesn't know what to do with it
He doesn't understand why he like the person at first, he just knows he does
Would be in a relationship with someone who challenges him, not just in a competitive way but to help him grow as a person

MHA Spoilers Ahead!
I don't understand why everyone is mad at Hawks for killing twice. Yeah, it was sad and I loved twice and didn't want him to die, but he had to in order to stop the villains. This was a gray area. There was no right or wrong, just consequences.
I get Twice was protecting his friends but Hawks was too. Plus many heroes died in that fight and the villains just lost him.
The only reason people care about Twice's death over the newly introduced heroes that died was because we got to know Twice while the heroes were irrelevant. Not to say Twice would not matter otherwise, we just got to know him and feel bad for his situation so losing him hurt. He didn't deserve to die. He deserved help. He deserved a good life and was dealt a bad hand.

WWII!Bucky x Nurse!Reader
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 out of 3
Summary: A story about you and Bucky's growing relationship and how you ended up together.
Even though Bucky is back in the camp, he has not woken up and you still find yourself missing his voice. Without his jokes, his sincerity, his kindness, the war is getting to you, depressing you. He is the only one to keep you grounded and distracted from the real world. Steve has been by your side all the while though, trying to cheer you up, but it is not the same.
Slowly you realized you are in love with him. Everything about him. You love how he treats you with respect and love, a way no man treats a lady these days. You love that he sees you as a strong individual who can carry herself, not as some trophy like all men have seen you so far. You love how he guards you when men try to hit on you. How he usually shoos them away with a threat. You love how he smiles at you when you laugh and the goofy way he wears his hat. You even loves the way he chastises you when you get in trouble. Most importantly, you love him.
You grip Bucky's hand once again as you sit next to him. When you aren't working or sleeping, it is always where you can be found.
You rub your thumb over his hand and Steve draws in his book, sitting in a chair beside you.
"Are you two going steady?" Steve questions suddenly. You feel your cheeks heat up, as you look at Bucky and let out a small laugh.
"Something like that. We really just flirted I guess." You sigh heavily, you know the moment he wakes up you're going to make sure he knows about your feelings. Or at least soon after.
"I better not find you two meatballs around a Hydra base ever again. Especially you (y/n). You're not even trained for that." Your eyes light up and Bucky's grip on your hand tightens. You feel so at ease to feel him respond to your touch for once. It's surprising all of the emotions one man can evoke from you.
You help Bucky sit up on his pillow, and he quickly perks up, he seems back to normal even.
"How are you feeling?" Steve questions as he closes his sketch book.
"A little beat up, but I'll be fine. Don't think you two are getting out of my lecture now. Steve why did you let (y/n) go along? She could have gotten killed or--" Knowing Bucky can go on with his lecture forever, Steve quickly cuts him off.
"Wait. So you never jumped from a plane before?" Steve looks at you with innocent disbelief. You give Bucky a weak smile as he quickly snaps his attention towards you. You cannot help but laugh at his reaction.
"You jumped from a plane!" Bucky yells as he looks like he might pass out from just the though of you being in such a dangerous situation.
"What–what am I going to do with you two?" Bucky questions with a chuckle as he pinches the bridge if his nose and shakes his head. "Both of you are reckless meatballs who search for trouble." Steve laughs proudly at his friend's comment and you rub Bucky's hand. Buck gives you a sweet smile and you feel butterflies form in your stomach. He has the most charming smile you have ever seen, it never gets old to you.
"Let's get you on your feet soldier." You mock with a smile. Steve is immediately there to help steady his best friend. After a couple steps, Bucky proves that he can manage on his own. He only has a slight wobble to his step. Steve smiles at the two of you, seeming to understand what is going on.
"I have to go now to get a new assignment. I will see you at lunch." Steve strolls off, but not before secretly giving Bucky a thumbs up with a proud smile.
"So doll, you miss me?" Bucky questions in a smooth tone as he gives you a flirty gaze. You can tell this flirting is much different from the playful ones that usually go on between the two of you. This flirting is genuine as he seems nervous.
"I did miss you Bucky." You say, stepping closer to him. His cheeks become red and he looks away from you awkwardly. He did not expect you to respond like that. You find his sudden, uncharacteristic shyness attractive. It meant that he cared about you, he wants to impress you. Bucky tries to salvage his charm and puts on his signature smirk again.
"I think I've earned that kiss." Tension rises as Bucky pulls you even closer to him, he rests his hands on your hips.
"Last time I checked I was the one who saved your life." You tease, while you drape your hands over his shoulder.
"Well. I saved you from having another boring day." You find yourself staring at his lips as his breath becomes uneven. You swallow hard before replying.
"I guess that does deserve something." You softly place your lips on his and he is careful with his warm kiss. It's full of caring love as he softly moves his soft lips against yours. The kiss soon picks up as you kiss harder and more passionately. You slowly pull away and immediately miss the contact.

WWII!Bucky x Nurse!Reader
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Summary: A story about you and Bucky's growing relationship and how you ended up together.
It has been a week since you have last seen James and five weeks since you first arrived in the 107th. You cannot help, but continue to worry about him. Worry about his life. You realize how much you do care for him. You hate just waiting around. Feeling helpless and ignorant to what is going on. To try and distract your mind, you have taken up extra shifts and work for yourself until you have no energy. Even then, you still think of him. The world seems to have almost stopped since he has been gone.
You sit in your tent as the rain becomes relentless. Pounding the ground and creating large, muddy puddles. The sky and ground are bleak and featureless. You take a sip of water, before looking at your feet hopelessly.
"Hey! Look up girlie. Captain America is coming around today." You look up to see a soldier with a canteen in his hand. Though the canteen does not reveal its contents, its owners breath reveals that it is alcohol. You smile at him, you're aware he is doing his best to cheer you up. Oddly enough his words do give you a lot of hope. Something about seeing a show, seeing people who are not affected by the true horrors of war makes you feel a bit better. You crack a small smile and reply.
"He is, isn't he....maybe that will lift up our spirits. God knows we need it." You sit up straighter, and look at your fellow soldier.
"Hehe we are planning to throw things at him. He is just a poster boy after all. Runs off during the fight." You hit the male hard on the shoulder. He jumps back and almost spills his drink.
"That is not very nice. He is just doing his job." You say on Captain America's behalf.
"Yeah and takes all our credit. Not to mention the cute dames he works with." You roll your eyes at him. That's all the men in this camp care about, attractive women. Now that you thought about it, the girls, the show, and the alcohol all made for a perfect distraction. If no one was going to tell you where Bucky was, you would figure it out yourself.
After watching the show for a few minutes, you make an excuse and slip away. You sneak right into the Colonel's tent. What you didn't expect was for the show to be cut short, allowing a certain Captain to catch you in the middle of your sleuthing.
"Excuse me ma'am I uh--" He cut himself off of explaining his own presence when he notices the name on the folder you held. His voice becomes soft, "...hey, have you heard from Buck?"
You shake your head sadly and see the hope Steve had vanish.
"Last I heard he was going against an enemy base. I have not heard from him...in a while." You say, handing off the information to expand on your statement. "...they reported him as a K.I.A I was hoping he secretly mailed something. I mean he can't be..." Tears spring up in your eyes, but you hold them back. Even though your worst fear has just come true.
Steve continues talking, clearly distraught by his best friend being lost. "I found out where he went I--"
"Steve no!--" you grip his forearm to get his attention and he looks at you. His expression totally changes from a harsh, vengeful and analytic one, to one of sorrow and care. He was so caught up in his own dilemma, reality was escaping him, but you bough him back.
"Steve you are not going there." Steve sees the tears in your eyes and he realizes how strong you are being. Silently taking in this information that is surely killing you on the inside.
"How did you know I was going to the prison? How do you even know my name?" You smile weakly at his nïavness.
"You seem the type to do dumb stuff when someone is in trouble, especially your friends. So I figure you must be the Steve Bucky told me stories about. You guys get in a lot of trouble." You joke.
You pause, thinking over your options. Thinking over what you can do to help. "...at least take me along." Steve's expression quickly becomes stern, but soft.
"It's dangerous. I cannot have you be out there." You note the firm sadness in Steve's voice. Sounding so strong, but still broken at the though of you getting hurt.
"Steve, please. I have to help avenge him too. Help free everyone else." Your words shake Steve. Making him realize that he does not know you and what your capable of. He does not understand how the war has changed you. You were stronger now physically and mentally.
You are no stranger to what happens in war after what you are exposed to. You know every single thing that is going to be thrown at you and will be unphased by any obstacle. You can handle the new threat that is Hydra.
"Please Steve...he was my friend too." Those words are enough to convince him to let you tag along.
After that you were on a plane with him, Stark and Carter heading towards the Hyra base. You are not sure how he got them to help, but you are greatful for it.
You lean over the edge of the plane, looking down at the drop that waited for you. Adrenaline, fear and nausea take over your system at once as you feel yourself lose your balance. You step away from the edge.
"Ready for the jump?" Steve questions you while handing you a parachute. You might have lied to him and told him you have been on the field before.
"Yeah. I won't be able to keep up with you, but we can regroup and free everyone together."
"Just make sure to blend in."
"Says the man wearing a flag on his back." You joke. Before you know it, it was time to jump. You check over your gear once more, making sure you are fully prepared. Steve jumps first, effortlessly cutting through the air and landing somewhere beyond the trees. You go after him and your experience is much more unpleasant.
Following his lead, you dove forward in a perfectly focused line with your arms tucked into your sides and effortlessly cut through the air and dove towards the ground. The edges of your vision were blurred from the movement of your falling, disorienting you if you did not focus on where you wanted to land. The wind howled in your ears and numbed your uncovered face.
After falling for the correct amount of time, you pull the chord and fell your body jerk upwards and float safely to the ground. The tree line hides your falling form. After finding you drop your pack and unnecessary baggage, you checked your gun that was a last resort as it would give away your position.
You climb a tall hill and lay flat on your stomach to scope out your surroundings and figure out what direction you were suppose to head in. You used binoculars to spy on the base, giving you a perfect view of where to head, but leaving you defenseless as you have no peripheral view. You spot Steve in the base, carefully running from cover to cover and quietly taking out enemies with his bear hands. He is making a safe space for you to enter into. As long as you could clear the wall which seems to be unguarded for now.
You did not have time to take action as you feel the barrel of a gun poke you in the back of the head and hear someone yelling at you fiercely in German. He wears an all black military uniform with a helmet and a high tech sniper rifle. There is the Hydra symbol of an octopus on his uniform and he wears a white mask that covers the bottom half of his face. The mask is scuffed up and seems to be made of metal or hard plastic, the kind on knee pads. The mask reminds you of a skeleton's jaw, you assume that is what the designer meant to do. It gives the soldier a fierce look, as if the fighter himself is undefeatable.
You act when he raises his gun, leaving him open. You leave your gun on your hip, deeming it useless to pull out since you have to act quickly. The soldier misses his shot and shouts. You take out your knife and run at the man, you learned how to use your size to off set a larger opponent. Bucky taught you. You graple and him and get him to the floor, but he flips you and pins you to the ground. A fierce punch is directed towards your face and you feel a warm sensation travel along your nose and a warm liquid ooze out. He throws your head against the floor twice before you manage to get him off you.
You grab the enemy's gun, which had fell to the ground, and hit the masked man across the face. He crumples to the ground, incapacitated for the time being. You take an electric stun rod off the enemy, seeing it as a better stealth weapon than what you currently had. For the rest of the mission, you follow Steve's lead around the base, watching his back and taking out anyone who gets too close. By the end of it all, you end up freeing dozens of prisoners and end up finding someone you never thought you would see again. Bucky.

WWII!Bucky x Nurse!Reader Part 1
Summary: A story about you and Bucky's growing relationship and how you ended up together.
You strip an old bed of dirty sheets and finish tucking the pristine white sheet onto the matress. The off white sheets of the last patient lay in a mound on the floor. You try to pick up all the sheets, but they tower over you to block your view when bundled together; some parts drag on the floor.
"Always on work huh?" Bucky, a soldier you met just a few weeks ago, questions you.
"Just the best for our soldiers." You say, looking around the sheets to see Bucky. He smiles and relieves you of a little over half your load.
"No thank you?" He questions proudly. You roll your eyes at the man. Ever since you kissed him on the cheek two days ago as a thank you, he has been waiting for a special thank you every time he helps you out of a bind. He use to rescue you without a word, never needing a reward or praise, just the right to tease you about it here or there.
"Sorry Bucky, kisses are only for helping with very important tasks."
"Hmm..I wonder what a real kiss would cost then?" Buck purposely thinks a loud. You try to hold back your laugh, but fail to do so. He is getting more brave with his flirting towards you. Before he was still a little nervous, shy even.
"You would have to help me with something extraordinarily big for that mister."
"What if I save up my rewards for one? Cash all of them in at once?" You ignore his teasing and instead give him a normal thank you to replace the one he is looking for.
"Thanks." You mumble. Naturally you would not accept help with the things you do from other soldiers. You are independent and strong. When you would get help, the men would label you as another helpless dame and nothing got on your nerves quicker. You could never work that false label off.
It was different with Bucky though. He never made fun of you to be mean. He might tease you, but you always find it cute.
"So how has your week been here so far?"
"We have been getting less wounded soldiers and they are healing quicker. I cannot help, but note the number of soldier here are dwindling." You drop your sheets in a laundry basket and Bucky does the same. Following your example.
"Don't tell anyone I told you this, but I think they are being captured by enemy troops." You grimace at his words.
"Nazis or the new threat? Hydra?"
"You know about them?" Bucky questions in surprise. No one is suppose to know about them. Especially the nurses. "I am not blind Buck. I put two and two together from tidbits of stories from the wounded. More than half of our soldiers have gone to the Hydra base and all of them have been labeled under MIA or KIA."
Bucky is quiet before he continues the heavy conversation. "That's what I came here to talk to you about. I have been assigned the job of getting rid of a Hydra strong hold with the Howling Commandos."
"I understand." You say, as you swallow the lump that has just formed in your throat. You cannot lose him. You never needed someone before, but you admit it; you do not know what you will do without him by your side. He pulls you aside and puts his hands on your shoulders.
"I have to do this." You nod at him, trying to figure out what to say. Trying to be strong for him.
"You will be back, ok." You say those words more as a reassurance to yourself than a promise to him. He kisses you on the cheek before walking off to the caravan with other soldiers. You watch him climb in and you both wave to each other. You do not leave until the dust his car kicked up has faded and he is gone.

Summary: You meet the Avengers for the first time when someone crashes the party. (Rough Draft I never planned to publish)
You drive on the highway, keeping the 40s station on and letting the calm melody fill the car. The sounds rock you into comfort as you de-stress. You turn up the volume as Helen Forest comes on and you hum along absent mindedly. Steve smiles, watching you in the corner of his eye.
Steve and you have been officially dating for a month now. Or as Steve says, "going steady." Which you think sounds cuter. He says he has something special planned for today and it excites you. He never keeps secrets from you, so it must be big.
You sit shotgun as Steve drives down the high way. You turn up the music and roll down the window a bit more. Even though this act allows you to hear the thunderous sounds of the high way, sounds so loud it drowns out the music and makes you have to shout to be heard, you love it. You love the breeze in particular, if you can even call it that.
You love sensation the cold gust adds to your sences, making you feel alive and tricking you into thinking you are driving faster than the steady 70 mph Steve keeps the car at. Or maybe it's deeper than that. Maybe it reminds you of your first date with Steve, how you rode on his motorcycle and had the wind in your face then.
Steve gently closes the car door once you are parked, immediately intertwining his hand with yours. He rubs circles on the back of your hand in a reassuring nature as you look at the building. Stark Tower...Avengers Tower.
"So. I am going to meet your co-workers?" You question in a casual tone as you straighten out your dress. He smiles at you. You always played everything off like it was nothing. You could handle whatever was thrown at you. He knows you are very nervous on the inside though. Trying to show strength.
You enter the elevator and are whisked away to another floor, high up in the tower. You feel your stomach sink at the thought of meeting the superheroes. You do not want to make a bad impression. The elevator door opens slowly and you make your way into the living room area, Steve still holding your hand.
You're suprised to see that a party is going on. Natasha is by the bar, talking to Bruce Banner. Rhode is sharing his war machine story with a group of girls. The other Avengers are mingling with cheerful guests.
"We were just trying to figure out who can pick this up." Tony says, walking out of the way to reveal Thor's hammer dramatically. "Up for the challenge? It's sort of like an initiation." He says in a cool tone. After hearing all the stories Steve tells you, you know there is some kind of trick to it.
"Stark." You hear Steve warn with a slight growl in his threatening tone. He did not appreciate the billionaire trying to poke fun at you. Tony swings his arm over your shoulder, whisking you away to the table.
"Oh, loosen up Spangles. I am sure your girlfriend can handle it." He says nonchalantly. You look over your shoulder at Steve.
"Spangles?" You mouth to him in confusion. Steve shrugs back at you. You sit next to Steve on a couch. The hammer sits on a table in the middle of you all. You walk up to the hammer and grab it. You manage to lift it up less than an inch, so no big deal. Thor can wave it around like nothing after all.
"Goodness!! Is this thing made of steel or something?" You question, rolling and massaging your wrist. You look up to see all of the Avengers look at you in shock.
"Was I not suppose to be able to do that?" You question innocently, pointing to the hammer as you continue to massage your wrist.
"Nope." Hawkeye says blutly, taking a sip from his drink. Everyone looks at you in shock and Thor seems nervous.
Blackwidow steps forward. "You see only Thor can pick up the hammer since only he is worthy. If you can pick it up, you can technically rule Asgard." She tries not to laugh as the others go on with their humorous conversions. Not wanting the party mood to die out even if you did just do a remarkable feat.
You walk back over to Steve and he holds you closely, a proud smile on his face. You sit on the couch with him and watch the others attempts. Hawkeye is first. After seeing you pick it up, he figures it will be a piece of cake. Thor just makes the possibility of picking up Minjor seem impossible with the whole, "you must be worthy," thing. You watch him take a deep breath and try to pick up the hammer. He is suprised to find it will not budge and Clint soon gives in.
Tony tries next. Picking up the hammer, he uses the leather strap as leverage. When that does not work he brings out his Iron man glove and activates the thrusters, but still it will not budge. Nothing seems to work, after one more attempt with Rhodes help and the Iron man gloves, Mr.Stark gives up.
Then it is Banner. He yanks at it and soon seems a bit upset that it will not move. As a joke he pretends to turn into Hulk with cheesy yells. You quietly laugh at his actions, but no one else reacts.
"I'd like to see you pick it up." Stark challenges Steve. Steve shrugs and walks towards the hammer. He wraps his arm around the handle, his muscles become more prominent. You see the hammer move slightly, catching Thor off guard. Thor seems afraid, more afraid than when you picked it up. No one else seems to really notice though.
Everyone continues to joke around and laugh, drowning out the achievement the Captain just made. You smile at him, showing that you noticed and value his achievement. He is about to say something, when a high pitched sound rings through the room. Everyone covers their ears to lessen the sharp screeching tone. Once it's over you see everyone tence, ready to fight. Agent Hill loads a gun and hides it under the table.
You turn around to see a robot in the door way. It looked like one of Tony's broken Iron Man suits. The mouth is cracked and some limbs are missing, loose wires take their place. Steve pushes you behind him, that way he can protect you if something happens. You manage to stand on your toes and see over his shoulder.
The robot moves forward cautiously. Its movements are sharp and stiff, as if its getting use to movement and life. No one breaks the silence as you all wait to see what the new threat has to say. It stares at you, then looks to everyone else.
You are too distracted by the looming threat of a fight to focus on the speech the robot prepared. Everything that occurs once it's done happens quickly.
Natasha jumps over the bar counter and Banner quickly follows her. You try to find cover as more of Tony's rogue safety bots fly in. Nat slides a pistol over to you. You snatch it and load it before shooting at a robot that has targeted you. In the corner of your eye you see Clint jumping on the back of a robot. Thor hits them around and Steve uses his shield. Hill continues to shoot them down with quick and precise shots. Through teamwork, the robots fall one at a time.
You use your rounds on a robot that is going after doctor Helen Cho as she hides in a corner, totally vulnerable and unarmed. The robot quickly looks towards you and rushes at you, that's when your gun clicks. Your nerves suddenly act up as you lose the feeling of power, control and security you had, hiding behind the weapon.
A repulsor ray suddenly shoots out and goes clean through the robot's head. The repulsor leaves behind a base ball sized hole, with red hot edges, proving how deadly one blast can be. You give Tony a grateful smile, before guiding Dr.Cho to safety. You keep her behind you for the rest of the fight, with a newly loaded gun.
You do not bring her out until it is silent and you see Thor's hammer destroy the head suit. The lead robot seemed to crumble into pieces and shatter due to the sheer force of the hammer.
You let out a sigh of relief and guide the doctor to the middle of the room. She is still shaken, but who could blame her.
