( the demure. ) don’t mistake a quiet person as a weak person. often a quiet person will say much more with their eyes than words could ever convey.

cohenkramer:
When his eyes focused on the girl standing near him, Cohen all but panicked himself into a seated position. “Oh I - um,” he sputtered, wiping the grass from his jeans as he peered up at her. She was beautiful - he was awestruck. Beautiful in a way that wasn’t obnoxious, wasn’t overrated. “You’re really beautiful,” he blurted, a look of disbelief pulling over his features as he realized that his thoughts had manifested into a verbal statement. What the fuck was that, you colossal dipshit? “I mean… no, not private property? Help yourself.”
A chuckle left the brunette’s lips at his comment, which obviously wasn’t meant to be stated out loud, still, Penny found it very charming — even though it made her face momentarily flush with embarrassment. “I-I uh, thank you,” she managed to say before taking a seat on the ground, not too close to him but close enough. A smile shortly creeping on her lips at the gentle aura that surrounded him, immediately making her feel at peace. “It’s beautiful here,” she said, eyes wandering around the park. She opened her book-bag and began to take her books out, placing them on the open space in front of her, “Swimming Lessons for Baby Sharks”, “The Law of Torts”, and “The Magic of Crystals and Gems”, one by one, stacked in one neat pile before her gaze wandered to the stranger. “Would you like a sandwich?”

javiermxrales:
“Penelope,” Jay repeated each syllable slowly, his lip curling upward affectionately towards the woman’s given name. “Javier… Javi. Most people call me Jay.” At her next question, a slight nerve crept into Jay’s stomach - he wasn’t used to people asking questions, what’s more - he wasn’t used to giving candid answers. But she seemed a bit naive, harmless enough for him to lower his inhibitions. “November 2nd, why?”
The slowness in which he repeated her name made the brunette blush, her cheeks instantly flushing. She wasn’t sure why, but something about it made her uneasy as if something was fluttering around in her stomach. Perhaps it was due to the ride finally coming to a halt, still, she smiled, nodding at the various nicknames, mentally deciding that she preferred his actual name. “Just because,” the brunette shrugged as she stepped out of the cart and back to reality, suddenly nothing looked as beautiful anymore — and still she couldn’t get anything off him. “Thank you for that, it was lovely,” she uttered, shuddering a bit from the chilly air surrounding them.

nash-tori:
It was half-past 12AM and alcohol coursed through Tori’s veins as a result of her attempt to unwind after a long day of rehearsals. “Pennnnnyy,” she moaned, tossing her keys towards the coffee table and missing entirely before tugging off her heeled knee-high boots and tossing those over her shoulder. Drinking didn’t do anything except make her anxiety worse - it really only ever did. “Penelope!” she yelped, trudging her way towards her sister’s room before slamming her hand into the door frame to steady herself.
“I’ve had the worst day,” she groaned, take three large steps before leaping onto the bed to wake her sister up. “Do that thing you do, cleanse me or whatever.”
@xpenelopegrey
Between schoolwork and job hunting, Penelope’s days were passing by quicker than she would’ve preferred. She was exhausted by the end of most nights, today had been no exception as the girl barely made it to her bed, shoes and skirt suit still on, exhaustion making her fall fast asleep. The first sound that emerged from her lips as she heard her sister call her name was something resembling a groan, promptly followed by sleepy mumbles. “Go away,” Penny complained, only to be ignored by Victoria who now joined her in bed. “Tori, I have class tomorrow morning,” she continued, but it was too late, she was already awake and rubbing sleep from her eyes, getting any rest now would take forever. “Maybe I’ll curse you instead,” the brunette joked as she sat up. “What happened?”

cohenkramer:
There weren’t very many places in the city where one could get their nature fix - unless you were really looking. At the tip of Manhattan was Inwood Hill Park, a forested oasis in Cohen’s eyes, a location he frequented every afternoon for as long as he could remember. The warm April air was begging for a reading session in a tiny little clearing that he knew virtually no one had spent much time in. He stretched his legs out, tucking his arms back behind his head in perfect relaxation as he looked up to the sky above.
“This space is ocupado, amigo,” Cohen breathed out after hearing some rustling and snaps of underbrush near him.
@xpenelopegrey
Leaving her hometown had been tougher on Penelope than she had anticipated, she missed everything, down to her father’s ranch even though in the last few years she hadn’t visited as much, knowing it was always there was somewhat reassuring. However, there was no way she could turn down an opportunity to join Columbia’s law program, especially during her last year. She knew it was mostly due to the effort that was put into her internship, it appeared like she had impressed the right people in order to be given this chance.
But it was difficult — the brunette wasn’t used to so much city space, so many faces and so many voices in her head. Since her first day she had been looking for a place like Inwood Park, finding it amongst the busy city almost seemed unbelievable. Penny had set out to explore the space further today, get some of her assigned reading done and perhaps do other sorts of readings, her favorite kind, now that she was ultimately in peace. That thought quickly disintegrated as someone made their presence known just a few steps ahead. “Oh, sorry!” She called out, somewhat confused. “This doesn’t look like private property, I mean, it’s not. I did the research. You don’t mind sharing a bit, right? I promise I won’t disturb you.”
