What If? One of the Fan Variants of the first 5-7 minutes from the movie "Good Omens: Final"
Aziraphael is gone, and with him everything in the world disappears. Everything that made Soho and the whole world happy is gone, as if the last ray of light is leaving us behind the horizon, lighting the way for someone else. Someone we don't know, because they are behind a wall of unknown stone.
Nina's cafe begins to fade: the customers come, that's constant, but the street itself sinks into darkness and becomes like the rest of the streets in London. The landlady herself is losing her zest for life, as if all the things that used to make her wake up in the morning have disappeared. She finds joy only in her partner, Maggie, who is also fading: The record store was kept alive by Fell's purchases and the good deeds he did for her. After he left, things began to fall apart and require more and more money to repair the old structures. Nina, that wanted to help her girlfriend, who loved the shop, as well as Maggie, didn't have such sums.
But if they had a loved one by their side that was ready to support and help, Anthony had it missing. His personal light that was waiting for Crowley at the end of the dark tunnel called the fall, just left him, choosing the side of heaven and betraying their agreement.
It was believable and even excusable back then, when they had only known each other for a thousand years. Back then, his angel had tried to please Paradise no matter what, but now? Why would Aziraphael do such a thing?
Crowley didn't know and believed that the cherub was tired of fraternizing with evil then when he was welcomed into Paradise. The very same one where Fell had been tried for the sole reason of stopping the apocalypse and being friends with him, the Demon. The serpent seriously thought it was him and his nature that was the problem. By shutting himself off from the world with his dark glasses it was as if he was accepting the rules of the game that Aziraphael didn't see him as a supporter of the dark side.
But were Anthony J. Crowley's judgments correct?
***
- Aziraphael! Come in,- Metatron said, heading for the desk left by Gabriel, - Look, this is your workplace. It's your job to maintain discipline among the angels and eliminate the repetition of what you and... Demon.
The last word he spat out like a swear word, indicating his attitude to all this. Not only did his manner of mentioning Crowley as a defect of the past upset Aziraphael, that he didn't like this attitude towards his dear serpent, but it also hinted at what Aziraphael had done to ensure that Anthony could live and even, one might say, be in this world.
- You remember, Fell, what I can do for disobedience or betrayal, don't you? You got away with it the first time, but now – Do you understand me? - he leaned over to the Guardian of the Eastern Gate and almost whispered the words to him in a warning voice, additionally slightly pressing him with his power of the second closest god.
- Of course, Metatron. But you also promise that Crowley will remain safe and you will not touch him on earth or in the Book of Life. - Aziraphael spoke the last words with fear for his friend, hoping for the higher angel's honesty.
- So be it, your traitor will live....
Aziraphael walked to his desk and the metatron retreated to his office. Looking around the workplace he noticed that Gabriel had a few things that set him apart from the other angels - everything was... not so boring?
There was a lone potted tree on the desk, itself decorated in purple and white and gilded on the rim. The nightstands beneath the table, when opened by the angel, showed us books from the earth and the monoscripts of mankind. Also, in a lower cabinet, Aziraphael saw a box. Opening it, he was surprised:
- Stones?
There was a collection of stones with signed dates in Earth time. They were laid out neatly and looked like something valuable. Taking one Cherub read the inscription, which was encrypted into an abbreviation: G&B-1930.
- G and B, what could it mean? - Aziraphael spoke quietly, carefully putting the stone back and hiding the box in his locker.
Looking at the walls he saw paintings by the great Vincent Van Gogh. It appeared to be a collector's edition from the artist, written to a certain "For Amy Pond". Swiping at the signature he felt a rush of love left by the man and remembered Crowley.
- And Anthony will never know, will never realize that I betrayed us for his own safety,- the angel wiped away the tears and looked at the small sphere-ground standing in the corner of the table, - I hope you are happy....

What will the authors reveal in these 90 minutes of the movie? (What theory about Aziraphael's motives at the end will they put forward as canon?)
I'm hoping it will be the theory that Angel was intimidated into crossing Crowley out of the Book of Life.

Description of Crowley in my fanfic:
(Translated using a translator, Russian version available on Ficbook)
The advantage of the neighboring Hellbase, which was actively fighting not only
not only with zombies, but also with other survivors, was Anthony J. Crowley, an experienced
military, who got into the camp by accident and became one of those who went on the most
the most dangerous sorties. Unfortunately, because of the harsh and judgmental environment of the settlement,
even he couldn't get used to it: though appreciated, he was censured for every failure and
and willfulness. In a group that wanted to kill everyone but their clan, there was not an ounce of
of mutual aid and help, and the survivors they met along the way were given to the zombies to feed on
zombies or shot like toys. Crowley wasn't killed because of luck, useful
knowledge and skills, but he was made mission meat. He was fine with that until the moment
of border crossings and mass genocide of survivors. At this point, his only hope
of escaping this place to seek peace.
His appearance was characterized by sharp features and angularity, but
he had muscles that helped him fight better and longer than the others. He also
he had several commander's scars on his back in the form of stripes and one on his eyebrow,
crossing it down to his cheek, putting even more emphasis on his eyes. Speaking of which.
there's a lot to be said for the unusual snake-shaped pupils and the nuclear yellow
whites combined with his coppery red hair color, he was avoided. Rumors that he was
degenerate of one of the dead had already become so popular that he was "chosen" by the
by the history of life and ridiculed by the people.
No one wanted to see beyond the anomaly.
His eyes were full of wisdom and regret for the history of his
of his life and his participation in the murders. They were the ones that still sparkled with hope and faith in the best.
and it was they that set him apart from the bulk of the camp - there was sincerity in them. Not
the ostentatious sincerity that was addressed to his superiors, but the sincerity for which he got up in the morning and after severe wounds.
in the morning and after heavy wounds, the one for which he fights with his heart and soul. The hidden
hope is in the traveler's hands.
As for clothing, he wears a camouflage kit that is
worn but still functional. It's quite possible that he's not
isn't just changing it for lack of resources, but for something deeper. On his
belt hangs survival tools: a knife, a flashlight, and a small first aid kit. In his
he always carries a weapon, most likely a standard automatic or pistol with a silencer.
silencer and a late 17th century knife, ready to be used at a moment's notice.
at a moment's notice. He also had secret pockets with extra weapons for the occasional
in the event of a crowd or a fight with people.
In character, he was harsh and angry at first glance, but.
when you delve into his actions and reflections on his missions, you can see the compassion.
and a desire to help. Anyway, it was his free will, for which he was punished.
more than once punished, and saved a few of his fellow servicemen, who faithfully keep silent about the
incidents so as not to expose him.
Perhaps, if Anthony Crawley had revealed himself, he would have been
a certain death that would last more than a few minutes, so for the moment.
all he can do at the moment is sit in the armory with his goggles on, cleaning the weapons that
hide the anomaly and quietly think about the future and parallel realities without the
apocalypse...

Description of Aziraphael in my fanfic:
(Translated through a translator)
They were above average in their status: each had problems, but not that tangible. The main asset of the Eden settlement was Aziraphael Fell. A scientist that graduated from the military science academy and biomedical college and had many certificates in military strategy and medicine. The doctor's appearance could be described as the embodiment of an angel with a deadly sword behind his back: he had blond, neatly styled hair and fair skin, which contrasted with his sharp, penetrating blue eyes the color of clear sky, full of light and determination. There is a subtlety to his image - there are elegant facial lines and expressive features, as well as old but practical clothing that combines elements of military uniforms and casualness, making him both a soldier and a scholar. Thinking about why he is useful, at least to the inhabitants of Eden, one can come to the conclusion that he is sharp minded, collected and resourceful. He is not lost in difficult situations and is always ready to offer an unconventional solution to a problem and a helping hand. He is characterized by faith and perseverance, which helps the city in difficult and dangerous moments. Also the fact that he is an excellent fighter and killer only confirm the words about Angel: he will not touch anyone without a known reason, before this allrovno warning and apologizing.
Aziraphael is also a master of military strategy, well versed in anatomy and physiology, which allows him not only to treat the wounded, but also to understand the weaknesses of zombies. He is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, shooting, and stealth tactics, making him an indispensable team member in confrontations with enemies. His main goal is to find a way to stop the spread of the virus and provide treatment and safety for the group of survivors. He strives to combine intelligence, faith, kindness, and physical strength to protect his comrades by teaching them survival skills and organizing effective sorties and cures.
But like every human, Aziraphael has his oddities and peculiarities. Some of them are visible to everyone, and some of them are hidden from prying eyes, perhaps because of complexes, perhaps to have an alibi for an emergency, or maybe just so as not to draw attention to his person.
He had a huge advantage over other scientists and military men - an iron arm, which gave him great strength when striking and invulnerability to bites and cuts from zombies. It could be said that it played a role in selecting a fighter for the most difficult sorties. Everyone understood that with Aziraphael's medical knowledge they were obliged to keep him safe and not send him into the thick of it, but the strength and initiative to help and protect Angel was a strong argument. Many people who had been in operations with Fell owed their lives and health to him.
The hand itself the owner did not like as it left an imprint of the past that would go with him to the grave. But even Aziraphael himself understood its importance and usefulness. The prosthesis was fully mobile and unbreakable thanks to classified military technology. It also consisted of plates that covered it completely, giving the limb extra protection, and on the shoulder was a mark that showed its affiliation with military research and medicine. The metal arm was implanted in the skin and it was impossible to tear it off without crippling the man, so Angel couldn't get rid of the memories.
How was it obtained? On one of his missions, Aziraphael was enslaved by scientists who used humans for experiments. After four years of torment, Fell escaped by using his hand power, which was an attempt to create a super-soldier. Upon reaching the nearest military base he not only provided the best evidence and data, but also got a job in military research and medicine, gradually honing his skills.
To date, Angel has not only used the acquisition for good, but I think he has become grateful to her for the opportunity to save lives, albeit at such a cost.

The world was plunged into apocalypse.
More people could not resist not only the changed weather conditions, but also the bloodthirsty creatures that populated the entire land and left no safe place. These creatures were nicknamed "Zombies". The most important differences from humans were bloodthirstiness and desire to eat. They knew no morals and pity, killing everything that was once called society: they ate children and adults, tore off their limbs and greedily bit into the flesh. The most important thing the survivors noted was their desire to infect. The fervor with which they pounced on anything warm or human-like was both horrifying and fascinating. Probably if this new species had been intelligent, it would have had no trouble enslaving every living thing on our earth, but it was this weakness of theirs that led to many loopholes in the survival of humans.
The survivors made up only a fraction of what was once the great human race, but they were the ones who built today's history, consisting of a struggle for survival and resources. Most were seen in Europe, where there are over 100 bases.
It wasn't until the apocalypse began that people began to band together and help each other.
There reigned not only a huge number of zombies, but also intergroup wars. Everyone wanted to survive, and to replenish supplies quickly was possible only by looting and arranging conflicts. To avoid this, the people began to establish mutually beneficial ties and communication. But because of the problem with communication, the search for an alternative began, which ended with the appointment of special servants who transported information by car or on foot. Over time, these teams grew into small settlements and some into entire cities with their own rules.
Things were a little better with transportation: gasoline was available and in ample supply, and electric transportation became valuable after finding alternative ways to extract electricity. Generators, solar panels, weapons, food, and medicine were all the high end of the economy that determined a state's status and its chances of survival.
With medicine, many cities had a problem due to lack of knowledge and experienced staff. Yes, those who had some knowledge of all this were not only valued and respected, but also protected, while raising their own economic status and the development of the state. The search, manufacture and use of medicines was strictly accounted for and was only available to the towers of the communities, scholars and trusted people. The loss and unwise use of even one object in this sphere was a direct road to banishment.
Of course, and with food was bad: zombies did not let occupy open areas for sowing, in every possible way spoiling them and breaking fences in numbers, and water, without a certain filtration, was not suitable at the risk of not only getting infected, but also die a painful death remaining a half-corpse.
From all this we can conclude that under the conditions of the apocalypse and the speech about normal life could not be. Frankly speaking, everyone understood that sooner or later they would die of hunger, disease or be infected, killing all comrades with their own hands, without even realizing it.
To be a zombie is to be a soulless being, capable only of inflicting pain and suffering. Do they feel anything? Perhaps, after many generations, we will find out and realize that we also caused so much torment to those who simply did not own their bodies, but understood everything. Would they have cried then? And who: zombies or humans? In the end I don't think this is our story yet, just a theory for the future, which may not happen....
