Inspired by @angelrin89 Turning The Tides fanfiction

In all honesty…. It was supposed to a comforting scene of Chase comforting who got frightened by the squirrels after being lost in the woods while playing hide-and-seek or even just simply comforting him…

But… Turns out to be a horrible angst of Omi’s dream by the reality he’s not able to accept… That the true Chase was no longer here, the True Chase who sacrificed himself to become evil so to free the monks… To fix the mistake he made… For travelling back in time to fix him….

It’s an endless guilt he would be suffering after Raimundo got his promotion as a Shoku Warrior. He may be happy on the outside… But…. I think I’m going to join Omi in the feels of not being able to save his father-figure and friend…

Good Jack casually strolls by, dressed in his gardening attire, and drops a flower crown on Chase's head. He continues on as if nothing odd just happened, only glancing back for a second to smile at how absolutely adorable his Xiaolin hero looks right now.

He was so deep in medititation that Chase didn’t notice Jack approaching him, didn’t even notice his presence in fact, until a soft weight suddenly dropped onto his head, startling him back into reality.

“Wha-?”

Cautiously, Chase reached up and brushed against the object on his head, expression going from bewildered to bemused as he felt the softness of it. Carefully he used both hands to remove it, letting out a soft laugh as he beheld the mystery object; a flower crown.

Looking up, the young monk grinned as he spotted Jack not far away, pretending to be nonchalant about the whole affair. Chuckling, Chase shook his head softly, placing the flower crown on his lap to look at it properly.

“Heh. Thank you, my friend...”

“Why are you complaining? I’m doing what’s best for you.” //lol hey how's it goin. o vo/

“This…is what’s best for me? You, taking me away from my friends, from the temple? And yet you still haven’t explained why?!”

The young monk glowered at the his counterpart, trying to push terror and revulsion away at this man’s very existence. That he existed purely because Chase had been stupid and foolish enough to believe Bean’s lies. To be so petty as to drink that soup…. How successful he was in that attempt was debatable, really.

He hissed, rising to his feet once more to meet the other’s eyes, anger overriding rationality once more.

“Forgive me if I fail to see how keeping me prisoner here is what’s best for me. Try explaining it coherently this time, if possible.”

In fact, I quite like the sight.” “I’m so sorry for disobeying you. I understand if you’re going to punish me now. I deserve it.” “Do you remember what freedom feels like?” “What would you be doing right now if you were allowed to do anything in the world, my dear?” “Why are you complaining? I’m doing what’s best for you.” “Of course I care about you. That’s why you’re not allowed to leave the house.” “What did you just say? I think I made it very clear what happens to those who don’t listen to my commands…” ”How does it feel to think in my voice?” “Your wish is my command. I’ll always listen to you.” “Oh dear, I see you’ve had a little accident… I thought I’d told you to keep it in.”

A brief snort of something that could be considered amusement. Or just flat out snarking.

風—        “—yeah… we’ll see.” He did not make any sign that would let Chase know his guard was down, and how could he help himself? Evil or not, Chase brought unconscious bad memories  about what his counterpart had done, maybe not to Rai, because god helped him to get the Lord’s attention away from him, but he did to his best friend… plus his evil-self tried to eat his head out one time… literally.

“Anyway… what are you doing around here?”

“Ha, you don’t trust me either...I can’t say I’m surprised, really..” Disappointed, yes. But not surprised. After all he was in a timeline when, logically he shouldn’t even exist anymore, let alone be walking around, clinging to memories of a different past. Sighing, he shook his head, looking back at the Dragon of the Wind.

“I wish I had a concise answer for you, but alas...” Chase grunted a little in annoyance, trying to put his thoughts into words that actually made sense. “Until not long ago...I was imprisoned in the Ying Yang World....After the debacle with Omi’s time travelling, I found myself here, of all places.” He shrugged, feeling awkward and stupid.

“I suppose I just don’t have any other place to go, really.”

DOE-REE-TOES. The triangle-shaped corn chips. I heard if you eat one, you break out in hives worse than Dojo. He may have been the one who told me, now that I think about it.

“....Whatever Dojo told you, is most likely a falsehood. It’s a pastime of his.”

“And I’ll thank you not to talk to me as though I am a child, Greyface.”

風—       “…am pretty sure this aint’ the Chase I am used to see and get my ass kicked off.” He says as he eyes the unsual, ‘goodie two shoes’ looking form of the Heylin Lord.

“I’m going to surmise that that’s a good thing, right?” Chase chuckled nervously, not entirely sure how to react to a comment like that. It confirmed one of his suspicions, at least. That his other self was most certainly not someone to be trifled with.

“Rest assured, Raimundo. I have no intention to harm you. Or any of the others.” he continued, holding his hands out in, what he hoped was, a gesture of peace.
