I think what’s crazy about Gortash is He’s just some guy. He’s not an aasimar. He’s not a vampire. He’s not a devil. He’s not the son of a God. He’s not pact bound. He’s not fey-touched. No special attention from a God or Goddess from birth. No magical prophecy for him. He’s got nothing. He doesn’t even have any mythical ancestry like half the fucking sword coast does. He’s just some human dude with a ton of ambition! Some random ass kid who got very unlucky which kind of made him “lucky” (insane + insanely ambitious) in a fucked up way. And Bane said damn this guy is working! He’s got big tyrant energy! So finally he got some real power by becoming Bane’s Chosen. But at the end of the day. He’s just a human little dude. A fucked up little scrungly guy. And I love him. That is all.

So so sad about Riebeck this evening. Their lifelong dream is literally within their grasp, they just have to gather a little bit of courage and they can literally walk there. They never will. They will always die just outside of the Hanging City. So much work conquering their fears, work they don't even give themselves credit for (they see themselves as a coward for being afraid of things it's perfectly normal to afraid of- like a fucking black hole) just to be cut off at the finish line. The only way they'll learn anything new is through your retellings, which they will forget once the loop ends.
