- Sienna Morris
Where math, science and art collide.
Sienna uses mathematical equations from her subject matter to create her intricately stunning drawings. For her piece “Human Heart” you’ll find equations for norepinephrine, cardiac output, stroke volume, and membrane potentials—all part of the mechanics of pumping blood. Numbers, formulas, and symbols related to these concepts are all hidden within the curves of her anatomically drawn human heart.

joannaxmccoy:
Tumblr media
Jo frowned at him. She was trying to decide if being called mini-McCoy was preferable to little McCoy. She still wasn’t sure who was responsible for the nickname, but it sure had stuck. “I suppose so, but you can just call me Jo.”
Tumblr media
“or we could just stick to ‘ensign’, since i don’t really know you on a first name basis just yet.” dark eyes focused in on her, but the smile on his face was friendly enough. but for a split second, it was almost as if the air grew heavier- but then it was gone. “what can i do for you, ensign mccoy?”

“’m not asleep,” he grumbled from where he had been asleep only seconds before, eyes firmly closed in denial. “wish i was, but apparently that’s cancelled now.” his eyes opened and he peered at her, blinking slowly. “you’re the mini-mccoy, aren’t you.”

“so you remember that slate you handed off to linguistics about...ooh, a week ago? the one in the really weird t’hxixn?” syrek’s chopsticks twirled in his fingers as he leaned over the table, a grin spread across his face and gyudon forgotten. “well, i have the prelim translation and-- oh boy it’s a doozy.”

              hey, you there!
ever wondered what happens when you combine a hairless cat race ( deltans ) with the most hirsute race ( vulcans ) in the quadrant?? wonder no more!! the answer is a pointy-eared psychic that could project an image of himself naked into every mind within a four block radius, but refrains from it-- most of the time. also included is a love for the arts, maths, science, and being dtf ( down to fight ) almost 24-7!
just don’t call him a vulcan to his face.
s’pal duvok syrek llija,                                       communications and sciences,                                       ready to throw down.

headcanons.
syrek consumes meat when it is both available and ethically sourced, sticking to a vulcan diet only when no other choice is offered. that said, like vulcans, he prefers to avoid eating with his fingers entirely unless absolutely necessary.
as a child, his favorite classes were music and mathematics, despite the snide remarks that it was a miracle he could keep up with his full-blood peers. this just made him try harder and leave many of them in the dust.
once he arrived on earth, he almost entirely shed his vulcan identity. left his father’s clan-name behind and took on his mother’s, ditching vulcan’s style of clothes for human, and blended in with the general population. many believe that he’s simply an oddly named human, until he bleeds green.
his favorite way to get back at his tormentors was to get close enough then make their tongues go numb.
syrek’s true passion lies in the arts. He can play a few instruments, sings well enough and even took up ballet when he reached Earth. What he can’t do, for whatever reason, he can learn about- and he will talk about it all if given the opportunity.
while he can be surly, he’s also open with other emotion- especially happiness, and especially around species that won’t attempt to shame him for it. His emotions can cycle frequently and occasionally wildly, but his fundamental nature is quietly happy and is his base emotion.
all of his senses are heightened, like his mother’s race.
when he eventually finds out about the existence of pon farr, he concludes that if it ever happens to him- he will destroy his partner’s mind whether he means to or not.
despite the minimal amount of control he exerts over his emotions, syrek controls his telepathy with an iron fist. the alternative being that he accidentally projects a naked version of himself into the minds of everyone within a certain range of himself and despite the fact he doesn’t have any shame about his body, he’d prefer not to.
