I also thought Sugarfly Cookie was suspicious during Chapter 9

(it also ties into my "elder faerie is silent salt" theory since Sugarfly is also a faerie. I mean it doesn't say she is but she has the butterfly wings. this is more of a stretch on my part tho lol)

While there isn't much to go off, Sugarfly cookie backstory as of now. There are enough crumbles to speculate on what happened to her. One of the first things I immediately noticed is how robotic she is. During the entire story, she has no will of her own and just accept is ordered of her.

At first, I thought she was brainwashed by eternal sugar cookie, though I am not entirely sure if that's the case now. Don't get me wrong, she is 100% brainwashed, however I doubt eternal sugar was the main cause of it.

From what we can gather, sugarfly cookie wasn't originally Eternal sugar servant. Which isn't really a surprise to some of us, but the name Sugarfly jumps out to me because I can tell that isn't her original name.It sounds like a new name a person would take on after leaving their own life behind.

Which seems to be the case here, whatever happened in her past. Eternal sugar saved her, and from that moment on swore to become her servant forever. However, despite being in a "better place", she is still broken.

Based on what Pavlova said here, she most likely already like this WAAAY before meeting eternal sugar cookie. And if those theories are correct. She originally belonged to silent salt cookie.

Which would explain her leg armor. While not much is known about silent salt at the moment, some have speculated that they are quite controlling of their people, similar to hivemind based on the concept art. If that's the case, it's no wonder, Sugarfly cookie is like this. She is loyal to Eternal sugar because that's how she has been brought up...poor girl...

“Tonight is going to be the best night ever!” Buttermilk Cookie sighed as she entered the sitting room of the Cookie Castle, alongside Black Tart Cookie who was equally as excited. Gingerbrave, Strawberry Cookie, Wizard Cookie, and Custard Cookie III usually stayed there, but since they were off on a mission they left it to the Little Virtues. 

“About what?” Bell Pepper Cookie looked up from the book he was reading, Fall of Civilizations. He was sitting at a nearby table. 

“The finale of Last Cookie Standing is airing!” exclaimed Black Tart Cookie. “The final showdown between Caramel Arrow Cookie, Affogato Cookie, and Unicorn Cream Cookie! I don’t know whether I want Caramel Arrow or Unicorn Cream to win, but I’d take either of them over Affogato.”

“My opinion may be unpopular, but I think Affogato deserves to win,” Buttermilk Cookie explained. “He was the one who came up with the strategic ideas, no matter how unethical they were. So if anything he deserves it, but I can’t wait to find out tonight!”

Suddenly Burning Spice Cookie entered the room with a plate of snacks.

“Burning Spice!” Buttermilk Cookie exclaimed. “What are you doing here?!”

“Oh, I’m tutoring Bell Pepper on civilizations,” he explained.

“I never took you as the tutor type,” she said.

“Hah! I helped raise a majority of the civilizations all across Earthbread! I have much more knowledge than you think, little milk.”

The door slammed open, revealing Shadow Milk Cookie at the door.

“You look happy,” observed Burning Spice Cookie as Shadow Milk Cookie practically danced into the room.

“I am! The Creme Republic is going to air their official apology to us tonight for rejecting our redemption,” he said.

“You’re still caught up about that?” Burning Spice Cookie asked.

“I want to see that smug Consul’s face as he admits his mistake to all of Earthbread! Though I didn’t want to watch it in the Vanilla Kingdom, because the main reason for their apologizing is… everything that happened with Nilly,” he explained. “I don’t want to upset Pure Vanilla, so I’m just going to watch it here!”

“Oh I’m also going to watch something tonight too!” shot up Bell Pepper Cookie, which was surprising since he rarely got excited about anything. “I’m watching Time Adventure!”

“Isn’t it that show about the last Cookie on Earthbread and his yellow jelly dog?” asked Black Tart Cookie.

“Yup! And I can’t wait to watch!”

“Well, if we’re all sharing,” sighed Burning Spice Cookie, “I’m watching my favorite nature documentary series with Mystic Flour later. The Golden Cheese Kingdom is experiencing technical difficulties and the Dark Cacao Kingdom has no TV, so we’re going to watch it here.”

“Really?” Shadow Milk Cookie asked. “You? A nature documentary?”

“Golden Cheese told me it’s important to enjoy the small things in life. And it’s a nice way to bond with Mystic Flour.”

“It’s nice that we’re all looking forward to something,” Black Tart Cookie cheered. “Ah, I can’t wait for 8 pm.”

Everyone in the room froze, as they all realized they said that last part together. 

“Wait…” Buttermilk Cookie realized, “our programs are all at the same time?”

The room fell silent. 

…

“First one to grab the remote watches their show?” Shadow Milk Cookie suggested.

“Yeah.”  “That sounds good.”  “I’m okay with that.”  “Alright.”

The whole room shot up from where they were settled and immediately rushed to the TV room, where Strawberry Cookie usually played her games. 

Shadow Milk Cookie obviously had the advantage with his levitation, while Burning Spice Cookie was a close second. Black Tart Cookie and Buttermilk Cookie trailed behind, leaving poor Belle Pepper Cookie last.

They finally arrived in the room… only to find Mystic Flour Cookie mediating in the middle of the couch. 

“So you finally made it,” she chuckled as she opened her eyes, revealing her pitch black sclera. “I’ve been meditating on this couch since we arrived here last night. Burning Spice and I will watch our documentary, since I’ve hidden the remote. Good luck.”

She closed her eyes and returned to mediating. 

“Oh come on!” exclaimed Shadow Milk. “Please, can we just watch the Creme Republic’s apology? I promise it’ll be good!”

“This’ll be our one chance to see the finale of Last Cookie Standing live!” shouted Buttermilk Cookie. “You could always watch that dumb apology later!”

Only Burning Spice Cookie seemed pleased.

“Nice thinking, Mystic Flour,” he said turned to leave. “I’m taking a nap.”

Burning Spice Cookie left the room, leaving the two wielders of Knowledge to yell at Mystic Flour Cookie, who seemed completely unphased.

“Can’t I just watch Time Adventure?” pleaded Belle Pepper Cookie. 

“No!” everyone said all at once, making Belle Pepper Cookie angrier. He turned to storm out of the room.

“I wish I had enough money to buy my own remote!” he yelled before slamming the door.

Suddenly Shadow Milk Cookie froze.

“I… just remembered,” he said, “Pure Vanilla asked me to buy something at Town Square. I’ll be back!”

Shadow Milk Cookie’s sudden departure left Buttermilk Cookie and Black Tart Cookie alone with Mystic Flour Cookie. 

“Come onnnn! Just tell us! You have the rest of eternity to watch that documentary!” exclaimed Buttermilk Cookie. 

“Same could apply to you,” answered Mystic Flour cooly, “We do not know yet if you Little Virtues are immortal like us. But even if you weren’t, you could always watch your finale at any time.”

Black Tart Cookie pulled Buttermilk Cookie aside.

“What if we used one of those Truth spells you’ve been working on?” she whispered, “We can get her to spill the jellybeans!”

“Oh, that’s a good idea!” Buttermilk Cookie whispered back, turning around to face the Beast.

“Rhttu valdreeed!”

Belle Pepper Cookie heard a small explosion across the castle as he picked up the ringing phone.

I wonder what that was about, he thought as he answered the number.

“Hello?”

“Heyyy, Bell Pepper Cookie!” Shadow Milk Cookie’s voice rang from the phone, “I’m going to Town Square. I need you to tell me the brand of the TV in the castle.”

“Does that mean I can watch Time Adventure?!”

“No, it means I won’t pluck that plant from your scalp again.”

Bell Pepper Cookie’s hand flew to his head. 

“You wouldn’t!”

“Try me.”

Bell Pepper Cookie couldn’t tell if the Beast was bluffing or not, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

“...fine.”

Mystic Flour Cookie was patching up the two Little Virtues.

“Wrong spell…” mumbled Buttermilk Cookie as her arm was getting wrapped in bandages.

“Shouldn’t have tried in the first place,” replied Mystic Flour Cookie as she applied the finishing touches.

“Can we at least get a hint as to where it is? To make up for the explosion?” asked Black Tart Cookie. “Pleeeeeaaaaaaaaaa….”

Buttermilk Cookie joined her as well.

“Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…”

“Alright!” she conceded. “But only because I feel bad for you two! Now, this hint will be in the form of a riddle.”

“Ooh! I’ll get this for sure!” squealed Buttermilk Cookie.

“The remote is in the valley between two hills. Its name begins with a B, has two Ts, and has you in the middle.”

Buttermilk Cookie grabbed Black Tart Cookie’s hand as she rushed them out of the room.

“I know where it is!”

The two of them stood above Butter Valley.

There was no remote.

“Buttermilk Cookie.”

“Yeah?”

“There’s nothing here.”

“I can see that,” she sighed in frustration, kicking a nearby rock before freezing. “Wait… B… U… TT…”

The two of them looked at each other.

“She’s been sitting on it this whole time hasn’t she?”

They then proceeded to face palm for fifteen minutes straight.

This has to be foreshadowing

White Butterfly’s are a symbol of purity, innocence and healing and in some cultures represent death

White Butterfly’s symbolism is similar to White Lilys, White Lily’s are a symbol of innocence and purity

So what does this mean well it could mean Red Velvet might meet White Lily soon or that he could get killed

I hope Red Velvet shows up or at least gets mentioned in White Lily Cookies Beast-Yeast story he is apart of her story after all

I accidentally left my guild in Cooke Run Kingdom

Now I have to wait a week to rejoin

I know that this is really not important, but I’m still frustrated lmao

mostly cuz I know this’ll bother me like a pet peeve the entire week

this breakdown is actually amazing fr

currently thinking about how dark enchantress is technically WLC and how maybe her weakness is still PVC deep down

It definitely could be true.

While I was writing the chapters for my PureLily fic, Love is like a Poison , I found myself pondering about it in my free time lol mainly to get a better understanding of WL's character

Idk if I have said this here before but I see White Lily Cookie and Dark Enchantress cookie as Kagome and Kikyo from Inuyasha as their characters resemble eachother perfectly.

Just like Kagome and Kikyo, both are the same as they share the same soul but with two different halves and beings.

When their souls split and DE was born, they got divided in two halves.

Just like Dark Enchantress Cookie's birth was through a tragic event and basically the "death" of White Lily Cookie

As shown in her gacha animation too

Kikyo's tragic "death" is what caused the birth of her reincarnation

But also a hollow version of her when she was brought to life again unfairly.

Just like the Shikon Jewel which shall never again choose her or shine for her in her rebirth, the light of freedom shall NEVER shine for DE because just like Kikyo, upon death both of them were reincarnated as former shells of themselves, born with only resentment, revenge and hatred towards the world, the last feeling they felt before they died.

WL got to keep the love and kindness part of her soul whole DE got born with her dark hatred, jealousy resentment, angry and regretful side. Just like Kagome got born with love and empathy while Kikyo got born with anger and resentment because of how unfair life had been to her previous to her "reincarnation" (Inuyasha fans will know)

Just like her, DE is also more than happy to get rid of her "other half" as it is the part she is missing and she.... doesn't want to acknowledge that

She doesn't want the reminder of the pain when she went through at all.

Just like DE, she (Kikyo) lived a miserable existence as she couldn't accept the fact that Kagome (who is basically her reincarnated in modern time, sharing her soul and heart) exists and Inuyasha (whom she loved) still loved her (just like she loved him) and wanted to reach a conclusion. She continued to hate him, but still kept reaching out to him. She didn't get liberated until she found closure from him.

I see White Lily Cookie and Dark Enchantress Cookie's character in the same light because underneath all that hatred and anger, DE, as much as she likes to pretend she doesn't care, she cares a lot.

Which is evitable with her question here.

Just like WL, who asks the same question.

Despite everything, DE is still what WL is, but just a former shell of it for she only got her hatred while WL got to keep the love and kindness she possessed at heart.

At the end, DE is merely a shadow of what WL is and would forever be incomplete without her. Deep at heart, despite the anger and resentment, DE is still is doing what she feels like is in the best interest for Cookie Kind. Not to attain world dominance, not to get all that power for herself but trying to "fix" the world in a way she feels is right

All of these wars and atrocities? All of this is still for the "help" of others.

Mainly because Dark Enchantress Cookie still cares.

She is still that scared White Lily Cookie with anger and fear clinging her heart as she fell to her ultimate doom.

That girl who thought she can change the world single handedly.

The girl who failed.

The girl who lost her life in the process and is angry about it.

The dead girl still saying "Only I can offer a path to unity."

Just like Kikyo, who also seeked to "fix" the world after she got reincarnated with just hatred

DE is still trying to do what's best for everyone even if it means casualties and hurting everyone in the process.

Something WL, being morally grey, also has done to reach the "truth" (not this severely ofc cuz she still held love and kindness, smth de lacks) but did all the same and perhaps even continues to do so without realising. But she recognises this flaw and is trying her best to fix it.

This is why, I can confidently say Dark Enchantress Cookie has deeply suppressed feelings still for Pure Vanilla cookie and vise versa.

Because again underneath that soul less shell, she still is an extension or perhaps a part of WL, who still carries similar feelings and sentiment over things she cares about.

And no matter what she tries, it keeps showing.

White Lily Cookie is consciously aware that Pure Vanilla Cookie is her major weak spot. Something which even Shadow Milk Cookie catches on very quickly.

Even Dark Enchantress cookie is aware that perhaps only Pure Vanilla cookie who, as much as she'd like to discard her past, continues to be someone she sees as a threat because he can stop her, not just via power but via being himself

And it shows, over and over again.

"Especially you"

Even back when she met him all over again, she's like "So you finally admit you were an idiot aye?"

When PV tries to talk about it, she goes

She is amused and curious. Because she does know this guy was close to her. She knows his deal, she is interested in hearing his side even though frankly she got no reason. She still has an interest over him.

But she recognises this instantly so she doesn't even let him speak lol

Because while she is interested, she is still angry. As evidenced here:

The interesting thing here is, she glares. Because she still recognises that something about him still makes her feel ...weak

Which is why her next question was this

She questions her weakness despite Pomegranate never even mentioning anything about it and just saying "as long as pv is here, the echoes of the past will continue in this castle"

Which is why, DE inorder to get rid of this, tries to kill him lol because she knows Pomegranate is right and that she won't be able to do anything if PV just keeps being himself because no matter how hard she wants to throw away her past, that strange pull for him would never go because he is a major part of it.

What better way to stop making yourself feel bad but by simply getting rid of the thing causing that hurt especially when you're in an eternal cycle of anger and resentment and are incapable of thinking rationally emotion-wise?

She is still angry at him for sealing her and if we go deeper, not getting/understanding her. Which ultimately lead to her doom and cause DE because like I said, underneath all those layers, WL still is alive in DE, in a form who is angry at PV for not understanding her even before anything happened. Something which ultimately led them to splitting paths as even PV admits, he didn't get her and which is what led to both of realising that they gotta part ways, leading to WL's expedition to beast yeast for searching the truth and for PV to stay back and help crispia and his kingdom.

Both did things for helping others.

Their goals aligned but at the same time, they didn't.

Because neither of them got eachother.

Because unfortunate timing.

PV valued his Kingdom more than searching the world with her for a truth they may never find.

This is why when she "meets" him again in Creme Republic, she is almost disappointed at him lol

To the point you can interpret it as "You are still an idiot and you are talking to me?! Stfu"

Just like she was disappointed back at banquet because despite all this time, he has still not seen the "error" in his ways according to her.

He still didn't understand her vision.

This is why, this is exactly why DE is the way she is to him.

She is still deeply affected by him. Even if she doesn't admit it, she still cares a lot. She still has deeply suppressed feelings for him which make her question herself even when literally no one on earthbread is capable of doing so.

She doesn't understand these complex feelings because she never processed her anger. She is permanently incapable of processing these feelings because her other half got that part and now she is merely a husk of what she was.

Just like Pure Vanilla Cookie still questioned his feelings for White Lily Cookie (whom he knew had become Dark Enchantress Cookie), Dark Enchantress cookie definitely questions hers but in a way she is capable of mentally and in her own way.

Pure Vanilla Cookie is what Inuyasha is to Kagome/Kikyo. He recognises the soul of White Lily Cookie even when she can't find it out because he truly loves her. He didn't just love her, he fell in love with her soul. He recognised it was WL in his final moments of the Dark flour war as his eyes went wide which is why he sealed her instead of killing her and along with that sealed his own memories because he couldn't bear this anymore.

This is why when told again that de is wl, he accepts it relatively fast because he knows, he knew and was in intentional denial because he didn't want her to be that.

This is also why he is the one approached by the light of freedom because it also knows that only he has the ability to know the true WL and recognise her being.

This is also why he is more than happy to get WL despite her being half alive to the point of him being willing to die just to get her back because he loves her soul and he wants that part, the one whom he fell for, come back to life and wake up.

This is also why again and again back when he didn't know the entire debacle of WL and thought she is gone for good in exchange of DE, he tried to explain her over and over again that there still was time and she can come back if she wants because he didn't want to seal her, not when he clearly recognises that it's her, it's still the same soul he fell for but now against him.

This is why he happily embraces WL back when she is alive again because he realises that she and DE are not the same despite being the same soul.

Because he fell for WL and not her but he can still/might have residual feelings because at the end, they're still part of each other but he'll always love WL more because DE and WL are no longer the same. But he will definitely always have a spot for DE too cuz that's a fragment of WL too. A part of her too.

So does that mean DE has feelings for PV? Highly possible because it's clear that she's still drawn to him and what he has to say. She still holds him in high regards despite what she likes to admit to herself.

So yes, it is very possible that DE still has deeply suppressed feelings for PV just like he did for her once (before WL woke up) but she would NEVER voice them because caught in a cycle of eternal anger, pain and resentment, she has lost the ability long ago to process these emotions.

Just like Kikyo continued to love Inuyasha but couldn't say it out loud despite her evil birth, despite everything, still continued to subtly show so as she became incapable of love in her new unfair "birth", DE shall always remain this tragic character with an unfair fate and life incapable of emotions and feelings other than hatred.

This is also why, these 3 shall always remain my favourite characters as WL is not a Mary Sue, she is a deeply complicated, complex character who deserves all the love she gets along with PV.

untouched tragedies of elder faerie cookie (aka, some thoughts on the bug.)

elder faerie is such an interesting character to me, i truly wish he was done some more justice....

his purpose is to die. he knows that. it isn't sugarcoated, none of that... he is well aware that if he fails as guardian, death is the only other resort. he is nothing if not guardian. hell, if he relinquished those duties under some circumstance, i'm not sure he'd be able to find much identity outside of it. something very notable about each of these faeries is that they simply take life as it is given to them.

elder faerie knows how morbid his duty is and still fulfils it without question! it's no secret that he's terrified of the witches to some degree. he guards the aftermath of their magic. he was taught first hand by them. he knows exactly what these godlike creatures are capable of. which makes him being unable to stop white lily all the more heartbreaking ☹️

he knew she would die out there yet still didn't hold her back. she was the first cookie whom truly understood his duty, motives .. exactly why his mission was so sacred. his respect for her own mission and seeking of freedom, truth, was her demise.

elder faerie also seems to know the truth — if not greatly implied. he carries eons upon eons of burdens and truths and yet does not fall victim to them, he's designed to be like that.

the fact he is able to feel - unlike the silver knights - is so SO important. to truly feel the passion for the life he protects, he must have those emotions. he still bears the weight of the world and can feel it all. those burdens still weigh upon him. he does not have the privilege of simply being able to wipe away his memories and slivers of an identity in thick silver. as these knights also need a leader with some hold, otherwise it creates a true hivemind.

very notable that elder faerie is the reason why we weren't cooked up until this point by the way. the witches, of course, performed the original sealing, but ever since then the weight of the world has been upon him. these witches are long gone.

many will never know that it is elder faerie whom has kept the world from being plunged into darkness on multiple occasions. as he, just like all else in beast yeast, has been washed away by the tides of time.

his power at full capacity is implied to be great. he has mentioned sealing the beasts away on the occasions they did escape, fighting them back each time. and look at what white lily did with only PART of the guardian's power!!!! the witches would also not assign a warden significantly weaker than whom he barricades.

this all circles back to elder faerie's purpose being tragic. the sealing was futile from the beginning, these beasts were always destined to escape. elder faerie's many eons of agony were only a delay of the inevitable. and to think how many more he could've endured if not finally given that peace..

+ sad he did actually die, but his death was enjoyable in some way. NOT THAT I LIKED THE FACT HE DIED I WANT HIM BACK but it was his final flip off to the beasts. he died to his own overexertion, none of them got the satisfaction of bloodying their hands with his remains. he was able to securely pass on his power too so a guardian would still remain. no wonder shadow milk crashed out, absolute peak.

truly hope we learn more about elder faerie as a person, there has to be SOMETHING outside of his duty. it's what white lily and his subjects grew to know, after all. and also his thoughts behind more questionable things (see: silver knights)..... delve into his grief and tragic fate please and tyy <3
