In the past couple of months I've started going outside at night when I can't sleep to uproot weeds in the pasture for a little while, hoping to tire myself out. Sometimes it works. On my way out I would grab the dish with today's vegetable peelings from the kitchen so I could give them to Pirlouit.
This was a mistake. My donkey used to sleep at night and now he doesn't. Now he waits. Now when you go out at night for any reason, for example because you forgot your phone in the barn, you have to deal with the pair of glowing eyes following your every move, silently and hungrily.

british people really can't mention serbia in any capacity without bringing up the 90s lmao ... there's a random bbc cop procedural show on the tv rn and one character is mentioning about another character going to serbia to pick up a dog and the writers just had to get a mention of nato and kosovo in there even though it's irrelevant to the scene and even the entire show. really i't's the only country that i'm not sure there's a single other country that has that kinda treatment when it's mentioned on tv in the uk.
#like there could be a news story of a serbian person rescuing a litter of puppies from a burning building and somehow they'd bring it up#like come on it's getting boring.#gonna start dredging up the uk's involvement in various shit whenever it's mentioned.

i never get used to seeing a picture of a kid and then seeing a picture of their corpse. i don't think there is anything like the chill that goes through you at that moment, a sickness that settles into your body. and if im honest i've lost count of how many i've seen. probably hundreds at this point. i don't really think there is a way to unsee it, and for the most part it is all i think of when i see these arguments, these justifications, the photos of politicians signing bombs and soldiers laughing in tiktoks. i have seen so many dead children that sometimes when i see pictures of my nephews my heart clenches for a second. for the rest of my life i won't forget this.

You know, that Mythbusters post legitimately changed my life. Before seeing it, I had exponentially more guilt and stress about not being able to sleep, which of course, further exacerbated my inability to sleep.
Now, every time I wake up about three am, knowing I have to get up at 6.45, instead of stressing and panicking about how my day is going to be sleep deprived and miserable, I just tell myself 'Time to activate Mythbusters Protocol' and lie there with my eyes closed safe in the knowledge that I am measurably reducing later feelings of exhaustion.
And when this happens, about 70% of the time the reduction of guilt and stress means I actually do fall back asleep, so all in all instead of getting only three or four hours sleep, I get five to six and a half.
Which y'know, major improvement in health and energy.

not sure how common knowledge this is but Moroccanoil, one of the eurovision’s biggest sponsors, is in fact an israeli company. they do their best to hide this and brand themselves as Moroccan so maybe not a lot of people know this. so the esc’s reason for not banning israel has nothing to do with them ‘not wanting to be political’ (this is already obvious from the fact that they didn’t hesitate to kick russia out), but perhaps a lot to do with them not wanting to lose one of their biggest sponsors. so yeah, there’s that.
