and in a seperate post id like to say thank u to all my friends who reblogged the post. im going through what i can only describe as the most harrowing experience ever, im coming to terms with the fact that my family is genuinely financially abusing me/medically abusing me and im coming to terms with the fact that being sent to conversion therapy is in fact abuse. im trying to seperate from them being solely in charge of all my funds and paperwork and such slowly but surely and hopefully i will be free from their abuse. its hard. i dont even know how to explain it, but both my parents have extremely unhealthy relationships for me (im treated like a third parent, and my father tries to trigger my psychosis a lot, my mom also is insistent on me being a christian) and they also as i mentioned put me through conversion therapy and its had irreparable damages on me as a person. im only just now embracing being a lesbian again as a 21 year old and i went to conversion therapy 8 years ago.

I feel like once fundraising posts get a certain amount of notes, people stop reblogging them because they assume it translates to the amount of money donated, but it doesn't. The last post I made for Laila got about 1,800 notes in a month-and-a-half, but didn't make that many euros in that time. It hasn't even made a thousand. When I started trying to spread her campaign, it wasn't abnormal to make a thousand a day. It's depressing to see how much engagement has fallen off for Palestine. Laila's mother is/was pregnant (Laila hasn't contacted me in a while, she might have given birth already- can you imagine trying to take care of a baby in the middle of Gaza?), and her whole family is suffering from malnutrition and the hellish conditions of living in an open-air concentration camp. It seems hopeless sometimes, but donations do matter. I'm not including a counter for the fundraiser anymore- I feel like people see the 30k euros raised and feel like it represents how much money the Shaqouras have in their account, but it doesn't. With how high the costs of living are in Gaza, I wouldn't be surprised if they had less than a thousand. Evacuating is still an eventual goal for a lot of families, but right now what they need the most is immediate donations to buy food and medicine and other essentials that are prohibitively expensive even when they're available. Don't think of it like "well my five bucks aren't gonna fulfill the remaining 15k of this evacuation goal," think of it as "my five bucks are gonna help this family buy food and water and medicine today." They still need your help, and literally anything you do goes a long way towards their survival. Please, keep sharing and donating and doing everything you can to help the Palestinian people survive the inhuman cruelty the world is doing unto them.

Last spring, Laila contacted me asking me for help spreading her family’s campaign. It’s been over six months and it still hasn’t met it’s goal. I don’t even know what to say anymore to convinve peoole to care- I feel like everyone who’d be motivated to help already is. Literally any amount of money helps, and even if you are genuinely too broke to donate a dollar, spreading these campaigns so someone who can help matters. I fear for Laila every day, even before my account was terminated (which I can only assume was related to the spree of deletions occuring while people accused Palestinians and their supporters of being scammers) I hadn’t spoken to her in weeks, and I can only pray that she’s still alive- along with her pregnant mother and the rest of her family. Her cousin, Tala, had her account terminated, and her gofundme has closed. We’ve failed Tala, but it’s our obligation to help Laila before it’s too late as well. Help a stranded family in Gaza

I am making this post on behalf of Israa @nasseer220 who just recently had to remake her fundraiser and is starting from scratch. Israa is taking care of her two young children, one of whom was born during the genocide, and her father. Her husband was taken by the IOF 11 months ago and she has heard nothing from him since. Her father has cancer, and recently had a stroke due to the stress of living in Gaza. His condition is deteriorating and Israa is so worried for him. Her daughter, who is only a few months old, has hepatitis and recently had to have two operations on her liver.

She urgently needs $3000 to buy a tent, mattresses, and blankets for her and her family, and to pay for medical treatment for both her father and daughter. She was staying with her father in the hospital but was kicked out because she could not raise enough money to pay for his operation in full. The days are getting colder, and Israa needs shelter for her young, sick children and sick father. You have all helped Israa a lot in the past, and I implore you to keep sharing and donating to her.

Asking for help is not easy; it’s very embarrassing, especially for a family that used to live a decent life. My husband and I completed our university education with distinction, worked in respectable jobs, and were used to helping others, not asking for help. But the war has turned our lives into a nightmare; we lost our home, our sources of income, and even our ability to provide the simplest of needs.

I'm Hanan. For the past 13 months, we have been struggling to get healthy food and medicine for my child, whose weak body was attacked by infection, and for my elderly mother-in-law, who fell into a coma for several days and almost lost her life due to anemia caused by our inability to provide healthy food, as prices have risen more than 10 times. Now, we have run out of everything. While you are reading my message, my family and I are trying to survive amidst all kinds of suffering.

What was once a beautiful dream and reality has now become a nightmare.
