#wotb#wolves of the beyond#my art#coloring is a bit off in gimp rn btw#gotta update it anyway#but yeah. that lava should be orange#as for my oc i decided to update him#i usually make rly realistic looking characters in general but decided eh fuck it let's have some fun#add some funky stuff#so i gave him some light grey patches/splotches and some pink marbling on his nose and ears (pawpads too but not visible in this drawing)#i think i like version 2 better?#anyway if the color remains fucked up#ig if i print this i can put gold glitter on the lava to make it look neat instead of weird lol#rn it looks kinda like a macaroni volcano lol. appropriate bc i love macaroni and cheese#and a macaroni volcano would be amazing tbh#but yeah idk why it's doing that#also i may or may not keep his design like this but tbh i rly like it#he used to have black fur with some subtle brown undertones. i may add those back in some places too#but i do like the light grey patches. kind of a unique look

#kind of a mental note for me as i want to draw some eventually#others are welcome to do it too#faolan and edme (and fengo and stormfast) as the lovers#thunderheart's skull with the flowers growing out of it as death#maybe young faolan as the fool since that means new paths/beginnings/etc#the sark could be the magician maybe or the high priestess#the tower could be the volcanoes exploding/the beyond breaking#there's a lot of scenes for the world card but maybe faolan gnawing his first drumlyn or hunting#or the wolves going across the ice bridge#heep as the devil (greed and evil and jealousy)#justice would be old tooth killing heep or maybe edme going against dunbar#i think the star could involve faolan's paw mark. or maybe an owl? gwynneth? creakle and tully?#cathmor as queen of cups and duncan as king of...idk yet#the hermit - faolan in the cave before time or maybe as a loner or gnaw wolf?#five of wands - the gaddergnaw? four of swords - thunderheart hibernating?#the chariot - edme making the kill during the gaddergnaw hunt? or her joining the watch as a free runner?#the star could also certainly be the namara. maybe thunderheart finding faolan in the river?#queen of wands could be edme or the namara#six of pentacles - faolan helping the whistler hunt? or maybe the scene when the whistler got the rabbit blood#strength - edme. the world - faolan and edme winning the gaddergnaw? slaan leat or joining the watch?#the moon - faolan's paw mark and gyre souls?#maybe the world could also be the travelers arriving in the distant blue

#my art#wotb#wolves of the beyond#this shit is on my main blog#but i dug it up#and decided to post it here#and yes a few of these are wips or doodle type things. whatever lol#there's 3 painted rocks too#i honestly want to make more at some point. those were so fun to make#the howling wolf is the whistler (goat wolf tbh)#obviously there's faolan and heep the horrible asshat#the sark and her kiln with a turquoise matte glazed pot#the owl is gwynneth#twist is by faolan in one of the volcano ring pictures#edme is the black/dark grey wolf#she's curled up next to faolan in the scene from 'under the stars' on the slaan leat in book 3#i drew all of the main gnaw wolves and she's the one next to faolan#i think at some point i'll also draw the watch wolves. i love twist and winks#i don't rly know how to draw bears so well so i don't think i've ever drawn faolan with thunderheart#if i can figure out how to draw a decent looking bear i might draw her as well as other bear characters#owls for me sort of on par with wolves as far as knowing how to draw them comfortably. maybe a bit tougher to draw for me tho#the quality of some of these got screwed up but whatever#if i find the higher res versions i'll post them#i almost certianly don't have the original like. drawing program files anymore. that was years and years ago on a prev computer

#my art#wotb#wolves of the beyond#decided to make a sideblog to this old af book series that i'm getting back into apparently. started drawing this tn and then made this blo#old fandoms and hyperfixations rly do stick around huh#anyway it started with me being kind of afraid to post on my main account#it's so stupid esp bc i've posted art there for years but#it's like. i'm afraid of being judged or me being judged or ppl thinking it's not good or whatever?#but i've always loved to make art and share it#so. even if it's not on my main rn. here we go#it actually kind of works great bc this is such an obscure fandom#so this blog is a good place to not only post my own shit but to reblog other ppls art#my main blog is. well. my main blog. it has everything on it#it's not really a specific theme/fandom blog or even a mostly-art-blog anymore#i've usually been unable to bother to run or even start side blogs or fandom-specific blogs#but here's my attempt at a blog for this fandom lmao#anyway i drew this bc i'm rereading (on book 2 rn) and faolan has to carve the great chain#so i was like. that's a lot of shit to cram onto one bone/canvas let alone make look good and artistic and such#so i decided to try it to see how it would turn out#i'm drawing it according to the canon list (i think it's in book 1 but it's also on the wiki)#i'm adding some of my own twists tho. like the volcanoes by the gnaw wolf#and the mountains being in the 'rock' category and the fish being in the 'water' part of it#i also decided to make a great chain that shows the beauty and importance of every part of it instead of gnaw wolf mistreatment or other bs#i may eventually add things like worms and bones to the 'dirt' part as well#the things between the 'other four-legged animals' and 'plants' categories are the 'birds besides owls'#i may end up adding more and/or making those more detailed and recognizeable#if i add more shit to this or redraw it i may also add more owls and more gnaw + watch wolves#i don't know if i'll end up bothering bc it's A Lot but i may eventually do a colorized version#maybe on the computer with my tablet (which is not at school rn)#probably a good idea bc i have carpal tunnel and need to be careful w drawing and typing. tbh i also need to finish some hw and go to bed
