could you please right a leah williamson x chronic illness reader ( maybe epilepsy ) !! btw i love your work
aww thank you !! the story is below
your safe, i'm here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary : you've been hiding your epilepsy from leah for a long time in fear that she will leave you, but when you have an episode, it only makes your bond stronger.
warnings : seizure, epilepsy, angst? to fluff.
The soft flicker of a film danced across the living room walls, painting both of you in warm shadows. Leah’s hand rested gently on your thigh, her thumb moving in absent, rhythmic circles. You had been dating Leah for a around 7 months now, but you still hadn't told her about how you had been dragonised with epilepsy when you were younger, the fear of burdening or losing her was too much to bare.
She had her suspicions, though, you could tell. The way you sometimes rushed off the pitch during Lionesses camps, how the medical staff occasionally pulled you aside for check-ups or quiet conversations. She hadn’t said anything at least not yet, but she noticed.
Right now though, you had felt it creeping in minutes ago, a distant hum in your skull, the strange tightening in your chest, like your own body was turning on you in slow motion. The movie’s dialogue became distant, fuzzy and the edges of your vision blurred.
You knew what was coming.
You shifted slightly and Leah’s eyes caught yours.
“You okay bubba?” she asked softly. Concern, but not alarm. Not yet.
You nodded too quickly. “Yeah. Just, just gonna get some water,".
You untangled yourself from the couch and stood. Too fast. The room dipped. You gripped the back of the sofa like a lifeline.
Leah started to rise too. “Hey, are you okay?”.
“Lee I'm fine,” you interrupted, forcing a smile that didn’t reach your eyes. “Really,".
You barely made it to the hallway. The bathroom was just a few steps away, and you needed to get there, needed to lock the door before...
The floor tilted beneath you. The cold frame of the door hit your shoulder.
Nothing.
Leah didn’t hear a crash, not exactly. But she heard something, a thud, a breath cut short.
She stood quickly. “Babe?”
No answer.
“(y/n)?” she called again, louder, already moving.
When she turned the corner into the hallway, she froze.
You were on the floor, collapsed on your side, limbs twitching in harsh, involuntary jerks. Your eyes were wide but unfocused. Your body didn’t look like yours, not the way Leah knew it. Not the way you held yourself with quiet grace, even in your worst days. This was different, frightening.
She dropped to her knees beside you, heart thundering in her chest. “Oh my god, hey, hey. I’m here, I’ve got you,".
She didn’t know what she was saying, didn’t even know if you could hear her.
For half a second, she reached toward you, but then stopped herself. Don’t restrain them. That was one thing she remembered from a first-aid course ages ago. Just keep them safe. Stay calm.
Her hands hovered. She moved the rug so your head was cushioned, cleared your arm from hitting the door frame. That was all she could do. That and wait.
The seizure lasted around two minutes, however to Leah, it felt like a lifetime.
When your body finally stilled, the silence was deafening.
You blinked once, then again. You were breathing hard, your body disoriented and sore. Your eyes glassy with confusion and the tail end of panic.
“Hey, hey,” Leah whispered, her voice shaking. “It’s okay. You’re safe. I’m right here,".
You turned your head slightly, wincing. “Lee…?” you managed to say weakly.
“Yeah, love. I’ve got you. You had a seizure.” Her voice cracked slightly. “It’s over now.”
Your body curled in, weak, trembling. The exhaustion hit all at once.
“I didn’t want you to see,” you mumbled. “I didn’t want you to —”
“Shhh. Don’t say sorry,”.
Leah moved closer, slowly, her palm brushing against your back. She was careful, waiting for your body to guide her.
You closed your eyes. “You’re gonna leave,".
The words were barely above a whisper, but Leah heard them loud and clear.
“What?” she breathed. “Why would I leave?”.
“I didn’t tell you,” you said. “About the epilepsy. About… any of it. I didn’t want to scare you off,".
Leah’s throat tightened. She didn’t know what she’d expected perhaps fear, maybe, or pain but definitely not this. Not shame.
“Babe, no, look at me,”.
She gently guided your chin up, her eyes locking with yours. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“You were scared,”.
“Of course I was scared,” she said, her voice breaking. “You collapsed and I didn’t know what was happening. But I wasn’t scared of you, I was scared for you,".
You let out a slow breath, and she felt your body sag slightly toward her, trust blooming in the space where fear had been.
“I’ve had it since I was a kid,” you whispered. “Most people don’t know. Some freak out. Others just… start treating me like I’m made of glass. Or they leave,”.
Leah’s expression darkened, jaw tightening.
“Well, they’re idiots,” she said. “I’m not going anywhere, I’m in this. All of it, even the scary parts,”.
You blinked fast, tears slipping down without permission. “I didn’t want to be a burden,".
“You’re not,”. Leah’s voice dropped, soft and sure. “You’re the person I love. And I want to know everything, even the hard stuff, actually screw that, especially the hard stuff.”
She pulled you gently into her arms, holding you like something precious not fragile, but sacred, like something she would protect even if it meant danger for herself.
The minutes passed quietly. Your body was still trembling faintly, muscles twitching with post-ictal exhaustion, but you felt warm in her embrace.
Finally, she pulled back just enough to brush your hair away and cup your cheeks.
“I love you, babe, and when you’re ready, can you teach me what to do? Like, properly? So next time, I know how to help better?".
She pulled you into another bear hug as you nodded, and she let you hold on for as long as you needed.

my car is replaceable, ur not
Tumblr media Tumblr media
steph catley x reader
summary : renee has finally given you guys a day off and you need to do some grocery shopping. steph rather play fifa then come with you. you take her car and on your way back from the shops, you get into a car crash and lose consiousness. hospital calls steph and when you wake up your more worried about damaging stephs car then yourself.
warnings : car crash, hospital, unconsiousness
Renee had finally done the impossible, she had granted the arsenal wfc team a full day off. No training, no meetings, no recovery sessions. Just 24 glorious hours to do absolutely nothing, which, in your mind, translated to: groceries. The fridge had been empty since the last away trip, and you'd been surviving off protein bars, takeaways and questionable leftovers (Steph called them exotic cuisines but both you and your stomach did not appreciate eating a peanut butter and pickle bagel) for three days now.
You were halfway through putting on your sneakers when you looked over at Steph, who was lounged across the couch in sweats, deeply focused on a game of FIFA, looking extra huggable. She didn’t even glance up when you called her name.
“Steph, come with me,” you said, grabbing your keys. “I have to do a big shop. Help me carry stuff with those big muscles of yours?”
She waved a hand lazily, though you could see her tense up to show her muscles.
“Babe, I just got Foden, I can’t abandon him now.”
You rolled your eyes but smiled. This was typical. “Fine,” you sighed as you walked out the door, taking Steph's car keys, instead of yours.
You didn't realise however until you spent 10 minutes trying to open your car with Steph's keys, failing to realise that it was the car behind you that kept lighting up. Oh well you thought, Steph would never know and plus, Steph's car always smelt like her perfume (and occasionally Calvin's shampoo). You got into the front seat and backed out of the garage.
******
You had just finished loading the last bag into the trunk when the traffic light turned green, and you turned out of the parking lot. The intersection was quiet, your windows down, your mind drifting to what snack Steph was definitely going to steal from the bags.
You never saw the car speeding through the red light.
The sound was thunderous—metal twisting, glass shattering, a moment of pure chaos before the world went black.
*******
Steph had just scored a beautiful goal in FIFA when she realised you had been gone for more than 4 hours already. Worry and panic ran through her and suddenly her phone buzzed.
Unknown Number.
She almost didn’t answer, but something in her gut told her to.
“Hello?”
“Hi, is this Stephanie Catley?”
“Yes…”
“This is St. Benjamin's Hospital. We have someone here listed with you as their emergency contact, they were in a car accident. (y/n) (l/n),”.
Her world stopped as she ran to find her car keys but they were no where to be seen. Sighing, she picked up yours, not yet figuring out that if your car was in the garage and hers wasn't, you had taken hers.
******
You opened your eyes slowly, the harsh white hospital lights making you squint. Everything ached. Your head, your side, your legs. But you were breathing.
Someone was holding your hand—tightly. You turned slightly and saw Steph, her eyes red-rimmed, face pale, lips pressed into a tight line.
“Hey,” you croaked.
“Jesus, you’re awake,” she breathed, a shaky laugh escaping. “You scared the hell out of me.”
You blinked at her, groggy. “Wait… the car. Steph—your car. I’m so sorry.”
She looked at you like you’d grown a second head. “You nearly died and you're worried about my car?”
“I'm so sorry, I accidentally took your keys and I wasn't bothered to go grab mine and plus your car smells like you. I'll pay for the insurance or a...” you ranted.
Her face broke into a soft, wet smile and she kissed your pout and interrupting you mid sentence. “You’re an idiot, my car is replaceable, but your not”
“I'm your idiot,” you whispered.
She leaned down and kissed your forehead. “Damn right, I'll go get the nurse now,".
And with that, she walked out the room, not before pecking your cheek and squeezing your hand again.

i think i saw a bear
Tumblr media Tumblr media
chloe kelly x reader
summary: you, chloe and the rest of the arsenal girls go to the woods for a team bonding event only to find out that you and your girlfriend (chloe) have been put into different cabin groups, and you can't sleep without her.
warnings : nothing really unless you count like spotting wild animals and beth mead screaming.
******
As the bus stopped at the gas station, all of the arsenal team rushed out to buy as many snacks as they could before the long trip to the woods, in which you would probably have to survive by eating berries and mushrooms you weren't sure were edible. Yep, you weren't taking this team bonding thing very nicely and you had spent the whole of last night grumbling to Chloe on why it couldn't have been a trip to the bar or someones house instead. At least you would be promised safety and food. Unfortunately for you, Renee had agreed with Kim and decided yes, it was mandatory so Chloe had to persuade you by promising to bunk with you.
And as if the world hated you, just as you were starting to enjoy the vibes of the bus Kim and Leah decided it was a good time to announce that they had assigned the cabin groups. Yes, Kim and Leah had decided your fate and who you would probably die with in the woods, and to your further disgust you were put in the first cabin, and Chloe in the last one. You made sure to glare at Leah and Kim as they finished reading out Chloe's cabin.
"Aww baby, stop pouting, its only two nights, plus we get to hang out in the day," said Chloe as she cupped your cheeks.
You turned and glared at her, though there was no real heat behind it and your pout deepened.
"I" you said as you prodded Chloe's chest. "Only came coz I thought I was gonna bunk with you," you grumbled. "They did this on purpose, they're evil!".
Chloe sighed and ran a hand through her hair, then started to give you little kisses on your lips, nose and cheek.
"There's that smile," she cooed as the corner of your lips raised (a tiny bit).
You mumbled something incoherent under your breath and then leaned into Chloe's awaiting arms.
"My cute stubborn baby," teased Chloe, which resulted in a glare from you.
******
The first night in the cabin felt like actual torture.
Not because it was uncomfortable—Leah had made sure to bring enough thick blankets —but because your bed felt way too cold, way too empty, and way too… Chloe-less.
You tossed. Then you turned. Then you kicked the blanket off dramatically and sighed loud enough for Lotte to mumble “Shhh” from the bunk above you. Beth had already screamed once at a shadow outside and warned everyone she had a “highly sensitive sixth sense,” which just made you even more aware of every cricket chirp and tree creak outside. (She also broke everyone's eardrums when she found out that there was no wifi)
By 2:47 am, you were sitting up, arms wrapped around your knees, and staring out the tiny window at Cabin 6—Chloe’s.
You lasted exactly thirteen more minutes before grabbing your flashlight, your hoodie, and tiptoeing out like a teen sneaking out to meet their crush. Which, to be fair, you kind of were.
The forest at night was… not ideal. You nearly tripped over a root, screamed internally when a raccoon scurried past, and full-on sprinted the last twenty meters because a tree branch looked suspiciously like a bear.
You knocked gently, hoping Chloe was still awake.
She was.
She opened the cabin door, eyes sleepy but immediately softening when she saw you wrapped up like a burrito in your hoodie, hair messy from rolling around all night.
“You okay?” she whispered.
“No,” you whispered back. “I can’t sleep without you. And I think I saw a bear.”
Chloe blinked. “A bear?”
You nodded gravely. “Or a branch. But honestly, either way, my life was in danger.”
She snorted quietly, pulling you inside and immediately tucking you into her bed. You curled up against her, arms finding her waist like muscle memory, her hand stroking your hair.
“I missed you too,” she murmured. “Told them they’d regret splitting us up.”
Within seconds, you were out cold.
The next morning, you woke up to the sound of a phone camera click, followed by a familiar snort.
"Would you look at that," Kyra grinned, holding her phone up as evidence. "Cabin crasher caught red-handed."
You blinked blearily, trying to sit up, only to find Chloe's arm still around you—and half the Arsenal squad standing at the doorway, smirking like they were watching the best rom-com in history.
"Oh my god," mumbled Chloe, dragging a pillow over her face.
"You owe me twenty euros!" Katie yelled at Leah.
“Wait, you bet on this?” you croaked, still trying to find dignity while tangled in Chloe’s hoodie and blankets.
"Of course we did," Caitlin grinned. "Love makes people do very predictable things."
******
Unluckily for you, the teasing continued, but Vic did swap with you the next night, so you could be with Chloe.

yours to hold

leah williamson x reader
summary: leah being a clingy girlfriend
warnings: none
It was 7:06 am when you woke up to a pair of arms locked tightly around your waist and a sleepy head buried into the crook of your neck.
Leah Williamson, Arsenal’s no-nonsense vice-captain and England’s defensive wall, was anything but tough in bed. In fact, she was practically made of cling wrap. You tried to shift your body, needing to get up for training, but her grip only tightened.
“Nooo,” came her muffled voice, raspy from sleep and still tinged with a pout. “Stay.”
You chuckled softly, brushing a hand through her blonde hair. “Babe, we’re gonna be late. I still need to make you coffee and put your socks on, remember?”
That earned you a sleepy hum of approval, followed by her leg tossing over your hip to further anchor you down.
“I like when you put my socks on.”
“You just like being spoiled.”
She grinned against your neck. “Only by you.”
Eventually, you coaxed her out of bed with the promise of breakfast and kisses. You got ready in the shared bathroom while Leah sat on the edge of the bed like a sulky toddler. You shook your head at the sight—oversized Arsenal hoodie drowning her frame, hair a mess, legs swinging as she waited for you to kneel in front of her.
She wiggled her toes expectantly. “Sock me.”
You rolled your eyes affectionately and did as told, sliding the black Nike socks onto her feet. She beamed and pulled you in for a kiss once you were done.
“Thanks, mama,” she teased, smirking.
“Call me that again and I’m not carrying you down the stairs.”
She immediately launched herself onto your back. “Too late. You love it.”
And okay, yeah, you did. You were taller, stronger, and very much a simp for this woman—though you liked to pretend you weren’t. With her arms wrapped around your neck and her legs around your waist, you carried her piggyback style down to the kitchen.
******
Training was where the mask came on.
Leah transformed from your clingy koala girlfriend into the composed, slightly intimidating team leader. She wore her frown like it was stitched onto her skin—brows furrowed, jaw set, eyes sharp.
To everyone else, she looked serious. Professional. Focused.
To you? She just looked like she was trying not to cry because you didn’t hold her hand during the warm-up jog.
You caught her glancing at you during passing drills and mouthed, You're gonna get wrinkles if you keep frowning like that.
Leah immediately broke into a cute pout—just for you, of course—and mumbled something under her breath as she turned away, cheeks flushed.
"Oi, quit flirting!" Beth yelled from across the pitch.
Leah flipped her off without missing a beat, then jogged over to you during a water break.
"You’re rude," she whispered, bumping her shoulder into yours.
"You love it," you whispered back, nudging her bottle toward her.
“Yeah. That’s the problem.”
Later that day, you and Leah headed to St George’s Park to report for England duty. It was always a surreal feeling—putting on the crest, being surrounded by the best. But the moment Leah’s hand brushed yours as you walked in, some of the pressure eased.
You saw Lucy giving you both a knowing look.
“She’s in one of those moods,” she muttered as you passed her.
“She’s always in one of those moods,” you replied with a smirk, watching as Leah sulked after you didn’t immediately sit next to her in the meeting room.
You caved quickly though, dropping into the seat beside her and letting her rest her head on your shoulder while the coach went over tactics. She might’ve been 24 and a decorated defender, but she was also very much your clingy baby behind closed doors.
******
Dinner was sushi takeout and your Spotify playlist humming through the speakers. Leah had changed into one of your hoodies (again), curled up with her head in your lap as you absentmindedly played with her hair.
You scrolled through your phone with one hand, the other tracing patterns into her scalp.
“Hey,” she mumbled.
“Hmm?”
“You love me, right?”
You looked down, heart tugging at the vulnerability in her voice.
“I carry you downstairs and put your socks on, don’t I?”
“That’s not a yes.”
You leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Of course I love you.”
She smiled, all soft and sleepy and safe.
“I’m gonna marry you one day.”
Your heart did a flip, but you didn’t let it show. Instead, you grinned.
“Good. I’m expensive. You better start saving.”
She laughed, eyes scrunching the way they only did when she was really, truly happy.
******
You were almost asleep when Leah rolled on top of you with a heavy sigh.
“I can’t sleep.”
You cracked one eye open. “I wonder why.”
She buried her face into your chest. “I need to be touching you.”
“You are touching me.”
“I need to be touching more of you.”
You groaned playfully and adjusted so she could lay fully sprawled on top of you like a human blanket. It wasn’t exactly comfortable, but if it helped her sleep? You’d allow it.
“Hey,” she whispered.
“Yeah?”
“You make everything easier.”
You kissed the top of her head. “Same to you, baby.”
And within minutes, you both had fallen asleep cuddled up against each other.
