When I was 17, I was on my way to graduate from high school, got accepted into the university of my choice, and had the privilege to hang out with my friends, travel with my family, and enjoy the last year of my adolescence.

This is not the case for Nader Al-Anqar (@abdalsalam1990). He is 17 years old and he, along with his large family, is surviving most of the most televised humanitarian crisis in the world. Instead of figuring out which university he should attend or what time he is free to join his friends, he is raising funds to purchase basic necessities so they can be safe and warm for the winter.

To make matters worse, his father has cancer and is recovering from a recent surgery. Nader needs to purchase medication as well as medical treatments! This is a lot for a young person like him!

I am Ahmed from Gaza, 26 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to support my family of 7: me, my father, my mother and my sisters, in our miserable circumstances, which we live in after the occupation launched the war on Gaza. We were displaced from our home and it was completely destroyed. We are now living in shelters. Due to the circumstances and low income, we are unable to provide the necessary benefits such as food and drink due to the crazy increase in prices. Thus, my source of livelihood has been destroyed, but it has been completely destroyed, as we are no longer entitled to work; and we expect to live in miserable conditions in the shelters. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in the shelters; without food, medicine or clean drinking water; with the oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts and daily shocks caused by everything around us and the inability to care for our loved ones. The fear of danger, disease and death never leaves us.

Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my father and mother, by getting us out of Gaza to Egypt and building a new life outside Gaza or helping us get money to buy the necessities that we may be able to afford. Asking for help is not easy, but we had no choice because we want to survive and strive to rebuild our shattered lives. We are very grateful for any help you can offer, no matter how small, as your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends.”

My family was stable, we lived in peace, and now all we know is the sounds of explosions and the smell of corpses in the streets. We are escaping death every moment. We struggle to get food and drink, as the video showed in a previous post. Video link:

My eldest son Zain's first year at school was a joy for his school, friends and teachers. His life was like the life of any child who dreams of everything beautiful.

My second son, Yahya, was in his first year of kindergarten,and he would wake up early, happy to go to his friends and play.

Or do they now wake up to the sounds of planes and explosions and feel ashamed when they stand in line to get food or water? A terrible difference between our lives in the past and the present. A year between our stable life and the life of war, no education, no games, no life, no security, and no source of income. How long, world, where is humanity, where are the rights of my children? Hello, I am Karam Abu Asaker, a human medicine student at the Islamic University of Gaza. I finished the third stage and I aspired to become an orthopedic doctor, but with the start of the war my situation changed. ,💔

Now my educational career has stopped, my university where I was studying has been destroyed, the Turkish Friendship Hospital is being used as a military barracks, and the Israeli army is taking it as the main headquarters for its operations there. It is now located in the Netzarim area (the area separating northern and southern Gaza). These pictures, one of which I took with my phone camera, prove that.

I used to live in the city of Rafah. Have you heard of it? Yes, we were forcibly displaced from our homes and they were destroyed, and now we live in a tent near the seashore.⛺😞

My other posts on Nader's campaign got traction which is great but have since slowed and I want to clarify something: funds on GoFundMe CANNOT be accessed until the goal is reached, and GoFundMe also takes a percentage of them. Basically these situations look more promising than they are. So really there's no time to give up.

This campaign is organized by Abdul Salam Al-Anqar who has a 1 year old daughter suffering malnutrition as well as seven other family members. Their home and places of employment have been destroyed.

the president of médecins sans frontières/doctors without borders and the mission chief of MSF palestine gave an interview (in french) on the conditions in gaza and it's abominable. they also mention that the only reason they're able to say openly that israel is blocking aid from entering and targeting civilians above all is bc they have sufficient donors and clout to do so but they've beeen viciously attacked for it and donations have slowed. international volunteers arent allowed to remain for than a few weeks at a time because of how horrific the conditions are but ground staff are forced to stay and never get a a break. none of this is new info and im sparing the graphic details that palestinians themselves have been sharing for over a year but it's soul crushing

Why all this silence? No one is doing anything. Israeli missiles bombed the tents of the displaced at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The bodies of children, women and men were charred. No one was able to save them from the severity of the fire. Why all this failure, O world, where are the rulers? Where are the institutions that claim to be institutions that protect human rights? my friend siraj abudayeh (vetted on line 219), who i've posted about frequently, has been fundraising for his family's daily survival since june of this year. read more about him here, here, and here. follow him here: @siraj2024. he is a journalist who writes frequent updates about the situation in gaza, and it is always better to get the story from the source than filtered through a western lens.

as of about a week ago, he had raised over $90,000 CAD / $64,000 USD. he had withdrawn a portion of it to pay for various daily needs, medical care, and rent.

his fundraiser had been under investigation for a few weeks and the organizer, his cousin, even sent all of their government IDs to verify that they are real people.

despite this, gofundme deleted his fundraiser a week ago. he lost over $38,000 CAD ($27,000). that is a monumental loss that would devastate anyone. but in gaza, it is the loss of a lifeline.

gofundme has a pattern of baselessly investigating and terminating fundraisers benefiting palestinians, often waiting until the campaign has reached the end of its goal to terminate it and refund all donors, leaving the refugees in the dust.

in the hopes of continuing to keep his family alive while unchecked capitalism and gang violence in gaza are on the rise, and in the midst of constant bombardment, displacement, and death, siraj has opened another gofundme. this fundraiser is in his sister's name, and is being organized by a trusted friend of his who lives abroad. we hope it will not be met with the same fate as the old one.
