There isn't sufficient anything coming into Gaza, and what does make it through is being sold at an extortionate rate. Maryam Ashour isn't even 2 and has already been subjected to the most punishing living conditions imaginable. Her parents live in a state of constant terror and exhaustion, sleeping in shifts so they can move quickly if there's an attack, constantly at a loss with how to provide the basics for their little girl.

Vast leitner that's just an incredibly intense genie lift safety manual. Once you read it and get certified you'll feel every shift and wobble of the platform to an exaggerated extent and sometimes you... can't see the ground. Sometimes the lift arm looks way flimsier than it should. Sometimes, for no discernible reason, the down button doesn't seem to work. You can't call down to the people at the bottom. They're too far away to hear you. You check the manual again to troubleshoot. It doesn't say anything about how to operate the lift anymore. All it has is a list of hazards. There should be instructions on the lift side. There aren't. There should be a safe way down. There isn't one.
