He’s lightly snoring too, his lips slightly parted.He feels the need to stop and stare, because he has never seen Meng Shao Fei this quiet, this still, this… vulnerable, and god forbid, cute.Or, five times Tang Yi catches Shao Fei napping in public, and one time Shao Fei catches Tang Yi napping at home and proceeds to join his husband in afternoon slumber.

for your heart (to break): Shao Fei’s eyes are red, and fat drops of tears are falling down his cheeks.“What- Why didn’t you knock before coming in?!”All Tang Yi can see is that Shao Fei is upset, and he’s crying.“This is my house,” he ends up saying, like a fucking idiot, because Shao Fei is crying.

it’s too late (to turn back now): “I’m thankful that you saved Hong Ye, but… I think it’s best if we don’t have anything to do with each other after this.”Whatever it was that Shao Fei thought he would hear, this was not it.Or, Tang Yi decides to push Shao Fei away for good after he gets shot, rooftop kiss doesn’t happen because Tang Yi is a fucking dumbass and Shao Fei needs to find some other way to confess and win the love of his life over.

i should’ve said it (and i finally did): “Tang, I love you,” Shao Fei said so easily, and didn’t ask to hear it in return.“I know,” Tang Yi replied instead, even if the words were literally at the tip of his tongue.Five times Tang Yi wants to say ‘I love you’ to Shao Fei but finds that he cannot, and one time he actually does.

stir fry: Tang Yi’s carefully steaming a marble goby fish to perfection when the doors to the large kitchen slam open.“Boss,” Jack calls. “He’s here again.”Or Shao Fei keeps busting drug criminals at Chef Tang Yi’s popular restaurant, and Tang Yi, for the love of god, doesn’t quite know why he keeps letting Shao Fei do it.

and i said, i’ll be good to you: Tang Yi wakes up in the hospital with a stomach ulcer after too many days of skipped meals and heavy binge drinking with prospective clients.“Don’t tell Shao Fei,” is the first thing he says.

love in the dark: It’s the second time in three years they’re in this situation — stuck in a lift and sitting close to each other on the floor as they await rescue. Tang Yi can’t bring himself to hate it, because Shao Fei is here by his side, just like he was three years ago.

a shot through the heart: Shao Fei finds Tang Yi injured in the dumpster behind his apartment building when he heads down one night to throw the week’s garbage away, then brings him home and proceeds to shower Tang Yi with some TLC. Tang Yi falls in love, and tries to hide the fact that he’s a mob boss from bookstore owner Shao Fei while taking the man out on dates. (Shao Fei has read one too many crime thriller fiction books from his store and sees through Tang Yi immediately because he was raised no dumbass.)
