Game of Thrones S7E1 Dragonstone
Finally, the game of thrones continues and what an opening it is. Arya poisoning every Frey sure looks awesome and is something like a reference to Lady Stoneheart, but it does not make so much sense if you think about it. For the final episode of last season, she must have killed Lothar and Black Walder, tear them into pieces and bake a pie, all of this unnoticed. Then she killed Walder Frey and pretended to be him for at least a week or so, till all other Freys could arrive at the Twins again. How did anybody not notice, that this is not Walder Frey who ruled the castle for several days? After she killed every Frey, why didn’t Arya rescued Edmure from the dungeons? There is no evidence that he is freed or that the Tully's now rule the Riverlands again. I wonder if the Showrunners have already forgotten about Edmure and only used him as a plot device in season 6. Then Arya meets Ed Sheeran who’s cameo felt out of place. When the drummer from Coldplay was at the red wedding, it didn’t bother me as much, but maybe this is only because Sheeran's face is more familiar or something. Maybe Arya will now travel with this group of Lannister soldiers, and we will hear more songs from Ed. I hope he gets killed by a dragon and sings “I see fire”...
I don’t want to go into more detail about the rest of the episode, I will only mention things I noticed and think how the story will continue. First of all, Cersei knows that Daenerys is on her way and she knows that she will land on Dragonstone. So why not order Euron to take and defend the castle? He did pass it on his way to Kingslanding and on the way back. It makes absolutely no sense to just give Dany the castle without any obstacles in her way.
I liked the reference to “Gravedigger” from the books, and it’s good to see some character development from the Hound. His earlier self wouldn’t care that he is responsible for the death of the girl and her father because he took their money back in season 4. I don’t think that the mountain he sees in the flames is a node to his brother, although Cleganebowl probably will happen anyway, at least in the show.
Jorah Mormont only being a prisoner or something like that in the hospital is something, I don’t like. I thought that Jorahs quest for a cure is an excellent opportunity to show places, we did not see bevor, neither in the show nor in the books. Asshai for example. But I guess it would be too much away from the main plot, so they just locked him to Sam. Maybe their plot will continue together.
As always, when I start writing about something I love, I can’t stop because I have so much I want to tell, and in the end, I have written not half of the things I originally wanted to say. Anyway, I think it is enough for the first episode. Thank you if you read everything and I will write again about the next episodes, although I can not watch the next episode when it comes out because I will be on holiday then.

Sean Bean hiking up to the Lord of the Rings sets bc he’s afraid of helicopters is even funnier when you hear that Viggo Mortensen did the exact same thing, except Viggo’s reason for hiking to the sets was bc he wanted to be authentically travel-worn
Like literally you have Boromir doing this pretty cool thing bc he’s scared to death of the alternative while Aragorn just does it for The Aesthetic™

Assassin’s Creed Origins is now officially announced and there his plenty of gameplay footage to enjoy.
In general, I like what I saw so far, but some things bother me. To change the combat system of Assassin’s Creed was the right choice because although the fights in previous games made fun, it was just too easy to kill a tonne of enemies even if they could just attack you at the same time instead of waiting for you to kill them. This point was criticised for so long in the course of the series that it was unavoidable not to change it in the new self-explained restart of the series. This brings me to the first point, which is the animation. In the first gameplay demo, the fight just didn't seem very fluent, and the dodge move appeared rather unnatural to me. In the gameplay footage that was first presented right after Ubisoft's press conference, the player uncaged a lion and the way it moved looked very buggy. I hope they fix all problems of this kind before the game's release on the 27th of October, this year.
At the end of the first trailer, there was a surprise for me, in the form of a giant snake. What is the deal with it? Because in its own fictional world, AC always wanted to be realistic, and except for some features that are needed to enjoy the game, like not dying by a leap of faith, and the story device, that the memories of our ancestors are in our DNS, AC always was realistic. And now there is a giant snake. I wonder how it will appear in the course of the game, and how they will explain it. Same goes with the new system that replaces the tower climbing to uncover the map, which Bayek, the Protagonist, now does with the help of his eagle Senu. How does the eagle tell Bayek where the enemies are? We'll see. The thing that bothers me the most is, at the end of the first gameplay, Bayek shoots an arrow and then controls it in the air. What? Does Bayek already possess a peace of Eden or how does he perform this skill? I hope they have a good explanation for that, and as long as I don't have one, I don't like the feature.
But that were all negative things I have to say about the game, and everything else got me really excited to play it. The graphics are gorgeous, the world looks massive and what I have seen of the story so far seems like it will be interesting. I will be ready to experience the beginning of the Assassin's Creed.

Assassin’s Creed Origins
There are some rumours about a new Assassin's Creed game beeing announced soon, called Assassin's Creed Origins. It's said to be set in ancient Egypt and Greece. Boats will return, and there shall be two protagonists, a woman and a man like in Syndicat. Maybe we will get answers from a first trailer soon, but until now, nothing of this is official.Only one photo was posted from Ubisoft, but without naming the new title. I am a big fan of the AC-franchise, and there are certain features I missed in the latest games and other things I want to see in a great new Assassin's Creed.
First and most important for me is a good main story with well written and interesting characters, a relatable protagonist and an evil but comprehensible bad guy. Something about friendship and family, but also lost and betrayal. An intriguing story which drags me into this world and makes me feel with the characters. The best example from earlier AC games is still Ezio Auditore.
But I also want interesting sidequests that tell their own story and some that add to the main story. The best example for that would be genre God The Witcher 3 or recently Horizon Zero Dawn. Both had a great central story, but also great side quests. Another important thing in the AC series, which they didn't pay much attention to in the latest games was the present day story. Rumours say that in Origins it will be like in AC 3, and if so I would be very happy about that. It is time for a new overall story and a character like Desmond who connects all games with each other. Not this anonymous view the games since Black Flag gave us.
Also, I would like a harder combat system. Maybe AC could borrow the system from the Batman Arkham series, which also worked well in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. It 'd be good to have more challenging fights and similar to that, the climbing system could be harder. At least at the beginning, it should not be too easy just to climb everything, and later there would be the opportunity to upgrade this skill or something like that. But maybe it would be annoying to have an Assassin who can not climb.
Next, I love to explore a vast and beautiful open world with lots of secrets and hidden details to find. Egypt and Greece should give enough room for many diverse places and cities. Egypt also offers space for the Assassin graves from AC 2 to return or the dungeons in Brotherhood and Revelations.
The last thing I would like the new game to have is a good soundtrack with a great main theme. The music in the AC games was always good, but Unity and Syndicat didn't had a good main theme, and the music in general was very similar. I want a theme as good as Ezio's family or the main theme of AC 3 to return.
Ubisoft recently uploaded four videos about Far Cry 5 which are basically saying that the real trailer will be released on Friday and because of that, I expect official info and a trailer for Assassin's Creed Origins soon. Until then we only got this unofficial screenshot:

The Dark Tower
youtube
So it is here, the trailer for The Dark Tower
I like the overall tone of the trailer, and I also like Idris Elba’s depiction of the gunslinger, as far as the trailer shows it. It seems like the movies will take a different path to the tower as the books because in the trailer Roland is already in New York but Eddie and Detta/Odetta are not even cast yet. I hope the movie ends in a way that the next movie can take up the story of the second book because The Drawing of the Three is my absolute favourite of the series and I would love to see it in a motion picture. Also, I hope that Roland will not reach the tower in this movie because that would be too early. In the books, the tower is somehow always there, in the back of the reader's mind, but we really reach it only at the very end of the last book.
Anyway, I am looking forward to this movie and I am excited where the story might take us.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle
youtube
Kingsman is back
Man, I was surprised by Kingsman: The Secret Service. I did not expect it to be as good as it was but it instantly became one of my favourite movies. At that time I was already a fan of Kick Ass, although I didn't know that they are from the same director. Matthew Vaughn is now also back for directing Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and I am excited about it.

Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi
About an hour ago the first trailer for Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi came out and what can I say. Well not much because I haven’t and won't watch it. I don’t want to know anything about this movie. I know I am gone watch it as soon as it comes out, and I don’t wanna spoil anything for me. I also did not watch the trailers for other films of which I know that I am going to see them and I will not watch any more trailers for Game of Thrones. I tend to speculate about everything I see in trailers for movies or series I love and spoil parts for myself. That's the reason I simply don’t watch them.
