A Reflection that Turned in to a Rant and I am not Sorry About It

Today has been an astrology shitstorm. Every article I’ve read talks about how great of a day this was to talk to your partner about, I don’t know-your partnership? Well, I don’t have a partner. He broke up with me the day before  moved in for college. Yes, I’m still bitter about it. His family still likes my instagram pictures. I'm going to be bitter for a while.

Between this full moon in Libra, Pisces being all about feelings, and the confusion that comes with Mercury Retrograde I have been a mess. Sometimes I feel like I’m relying too much on astrology, especially since the doctrine of my faith is so clear about how I’m not supposed to be. However, This is not the time to be making those kinds of decisions.

I was texting with my best friend earlier and I told her how all I want is to just spend a day sitting in bed learning as much as I can about the beautiful, intricate, fascinating world that is astrology while a man (preferably with a Taurus sun) plays with my tits. As someone with a Libra moon I feel like that is just an eternal state for me especially when I have Pisces getting me all up in my feelings. I love the burst of calamity and creativity Pisces brings but my chronic depression makes me emo enough, okay?

I came on here tonight to talk about the Astrological New Year. I’m a sucker for fresh starts. Maybe it’s because I’m a Virgo Sun and will never be good enough for myself or I just love the idea of there being a whole new world that I can explore and I have the opportunity to grow to be the best person I can be to go experience it. I’m a nostalgic person. I tie every song I listen to to a life event. Every boy I’ve pursued has a song that was at the top of my queue when I was head over heels for them. Sometimes they are hard to listen to and sometimes they aren’t. 

I’m the type of person who would save a napkin because I spilt soda all over it because I was uncontrobally laughing at something and it was the best day ever and I want to hold on to it forever. I just washed my bed sheets for the first time in seven months because there was a “sentimental” stain on them. Yes I realize now how absolutely disgusting that was. Everything is worthy of “scrapbooking” for me. I like to hold on to all of my memories in a physical way so I can see where I have been and where I am heading. Reading this you would think I’m a hoarder, but after a couple years I throw this stuff away. My nostalgia is temporary. It’s just there to get me through this valley.

I’m doubting everything right now; my faith, my future and most importantly myself. I let my negative thoughts rule me last week. I failed to show up to class or turn assignments in and the ones I did turn in were not my best work. I’m not ready to go back to class next week and face the consequences of these actions. I don’t know who I am. I don’t know who I want to be. I’m lost.

learning to love myself ~ part one.

This week has been rough.

I have procrastinated everything which has led to stress and half-assed efforts on things that are important to me. I have let nihilistic thoughts rule me and sit in my bed watching TV instead of studying, eating, socializing, etc. 

I am embarrassed. I am better than this and stronger than this. I was sick last weekend and my anxiety flared up at the beginning of the week, and instead of taking care of myself I enabled myself. I feel ashamed. I am an ambitious person; I work hard. I had a lot of wins this week but they have been over-shadowed by my fall backs.

We all make mistakes. We all fall short. I have high expectations of myself and beat myself up when I fail to meet them. I need to hear myself say that I messed up, but that’s okay. I can tell myself we can’t have another week like this and move on to the next one. Every day is a new beginning-a new chance to grow and learn. 

I am so much more than my short-comings. I am so much more than my successes. The Lord still loves me, my closest friends still love me, my family still loves me. I am a rockstar, a champion, a daughter.

I’m hurting now to love later? One day I will love now and hurt later.

The cycle doesn’t seem to end and I have a hard time believing it ever will.

I’ve been tossed around, used, viewed partially and none of that has taught me love.

It’s only taught me fear

I have been interested in researching my Mars in Sag recently, as I’m sure you can tell by all my re-blogs. It’s an element of myself that I see a lot of. 

Mars in Sagittarius

Sagittarius is a good position for Mars to be in because it’s in a Fire sign. The energy in Mars in Sagittarius is both impulsive and scattered. They can start multiple projects intensely, but need to be motivated to continue them. They are restless and get bored quite easily and will eventually find new ways to be busy; they enjoy being productive and need to have something to do. They are honest, straightforward and have high minded principles. They are very direct and vocal in what they want; especially with sex. They aren’t afraid to let you know whether they want it or don’t want it. Sex with a Mars in Sagittarius should be good because they aim to please and satisfy you, but they are also quite dominating and selfish as well. Sex is supposed to be fun and passionate and they tend to stray away from “commitment” and emotional ties during it. This can cause them to be quite promiscuous! Welcome, Pisces!

Whoo whoo first day of Pisces season! I don’t know about you, but Aquarius season seems to last fooooreeeeever. I’m excited for the change a new season brings. As a mutable sign, Pisces closes out the season of winter. I’m ready for the wave of creativity and closure Pisces brings. I’m at a juncture of change in my life-I want to grow towards some aspects in my life and away from others. As Pisces closes the door on winter I’m closing the door on my self-destructive tendencies and habits. I’m embracing the Piscine energy to start some new practices and projects-to create a person I am proud of being.  These were all initiatives I decided to embark on a few weeks ago, now is just a great time to hunker down and dive in.  

I’m biased towards Pisces. My beautiful, precious, younger sister is a Pisces and as much as she angers me somedays she means the world to me. I want very few things as much as I want to see her thrive in a place of happiness. I’m a virgo, Pisces’ sister sign. I don’t believe my sister and I’s sun sign placement alone increases our bond, but I feel comfort and security from it. We are each other’s only sister. It’s unique that just like us, our sun signs are sisters.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi friends, my name is Alaska. Welcome to my Tumblr. I will post an official “welcome” post later, but thought I would introduce myself a little bit before my first post.

Today is Valentine’s Day. I’ve never had a concrete opinion on the holiday. I think the colors are gorgeous and the discount chocolate on the 15th is something I look forward to all year. Junior year of high school I worked in a floral shop and loved every minute of it. All the extra flowers we got during the month before the holiday were gorgeous and filled me with happiness. I’m a sucker for flowers, especially gerbera daisies. Last summer my boyfriend at the time surprised me at work one night when I had a twelve hour shift with a bouquet of gerbera daisies. Safe to say I cried a little bit, it was one of the best days of my life, and even though this boy and I had an unfortunate breakup I still look back on that night with fondness. 

Back to the matter at hand, for the first part of 2019 I have tried to make it a priority to learn to love better. I don’t have a good relationship with myself. I started my most recent winter break by sitting down in the living room with my mother and telling her “I hate myself” and I sure as hell meant it. I’m a proud and devout catholic and with the help of my mentor, have learned to embrace the title of “child of God.” I am learning to see myself the way my Savior does. One of the ways I have been doing this is by focusing on my relationships with others. Loving my friends more fiercely, strengthening my relationships with my family, and making time to spend with others. By loving those around me and letting them love me, I am beginning to love myself. I’m starting to see myself as the Lord does. That is a magical and beautiful thing.

So I’ve decided that’s what Valentine’s Day means to me. It’s a fun, happy holiday, to remind those around you how much they mean to you. There’s a special joy you only get by doing something nice for someone you love. Remember as you spend this day letting your love out to others to save a little bit for yourself. You are kind, smart, beautiful, and deserve all the happiness in the world.
