The Dragon Hunter

Story:

Born into a noble house of renowned Dragon Slayers, Ren followed the family's tradition from an early age. He was trained into the martial art of the Warbow, and grew to become a powerful soldier of the clan.

But, away from the public eyes, the clan conducts immoral and dangerous experiments on its members, all in the name of making them even more powerful warriors and dragonslayers. Infused with magical and alchemical serums, monstrous blood and enhanced with rituals, those that survive the ordeals became powerful and fierce hunters.

"Yeah very much so, but also I think it's just animal coding, i mean, it's like how different predator packs always harass each other, you do have hyenas and lions eating each other's babies as part of their competition for resources and territories, but also the same kind of monkeys waging war against each other for the same reason, and then you have people doing the same. I heard in your world humans evolved from animals, and I'm pretty sure in mine the gods just used the exact same base brain when making us. There really aren't a lot of differences, we're just smarter than most of them, and that doesn't really do much with regards to being decent."

This meme doesn't have to be sexual! Muses could be trapped somewhere, waking from a traumatic experience, bloodloss, fainting, etc.. But the point is, both muses are lying next to one another, and one is/was watching the other.

"Weeeeeell, depends on how much you wanna go into vampire, hag, demon, and so on territory. With normal foods, i know a couple recipes that use some or only blood, but 'monster foods' have waaaay too many. Oh, actually! Orcs also have a couple people recipes, and a lot of tribes have their own version of this 'victory drink' that is made mostly from the blood of their strongest enemies, they believe it gives them their strength. And very interestingly, even though lizardmen eat their dead, they don't actually have specific people recipes, or I mean, generally, I'm sure there are some tribes or cities out there, but most of them consider 'processing' the dead before eating them to be defiling the corpse, and if you wanna defile the corpse, you just don't eat it, let it rot. Soooo yeah, short story, there are a lot of blood recipes where I come from. OH! And that doesn't even necessarily include monster blood stuff, like, magic beasts and dragons and whatnot, hydras, do you consider potions blood drink recipes? Cause I made hydra blood potions before, they make for some ridiculously fast regeneration, not as fast as the hydra itself has, but like, still visible." Okay, she will stop now. Maybe.

A hand was still on Anika's cold, soft skin, gently feeling it.

Ah, that accent. If there was one thing she wouldn't have ever imagined to wake up to in the morning was that unkistakable accent. And yet, it stole her a small smirk even without opening her eyes.

"Hey, Pumpkin... You sound well rested," slow words dragged each other out in a deeper tone than her usual as the only sign of awareness from the pale woman... or maybe she wasn't so fully awake yet. Her acid tone was lacking at the moment.
