so was thinking about how more disable people in media , especially in animation , really should have different gaits ,

so since lot characters in WYGN have different gaits because being different animals n disabilities as well as personality stuff , really want try show it off ! it can be hard show of in comic / still pictures , so this also helps get idea

in WYGN , butterflies represent death . Your Soul emerge from your body as Soulflies .

Sun is grasping at both idea of death and identity . Idea that she might outlive all her friends and fauna she loves . But that is a might . But still a possibility

we love drawing n looking back at old design of WYGN . love how refine character design became over time . sun was hardest to change adapt to current way draw , and bliss was most frustrating design , but eventually all design became very nice , easier fun to draw , and more meaning behind it

sometime miss old way draw or our old art ability , but we proud of how things are now . less can sometime be more

it makes us happy draw messy . there no shame in art changing over time because of disability or health

is also want take this opportunity to talk about WYGN specific winter holiday / festival that’s important and will happen in comic . Hue Festival ! (name subject to change)

in WYGN , area focus on get all 4 seasons , but it considered That season when see first sight instead of specific day (ie. first bloom is start of spring , red leaves autumn , first snow is winter)

so Hue Festival takes place at sight of first snow , mark of winter . (world has fauna who in tune with weather and can write predicted weather on community bulletin board)

so this festival happens mainly in Aster Gazing Guild as it guild about recording history and color , it happens more minority or not at all outside

as it monochrome world , then winter when everything more white and lack diverse grey hue , festival is time to learn and celebrate color of each and every fauna and teach next generation about color

everyone groups up by hue and proudly use soulcasts . (learning and grouping is also time fauna learn if colorblind or not) and each color group pretty much hangs out and go around town chatting , eating , doing art , learning about things

also , this not about “painting world to be colorful” , it about passing down knowledge of past , teaching , and having fun with others . not that “world sad cuz grey” , quite opposite . it celebration of past (memory of what world was) , present (how world is currently) , and future (hoping future generations remember and pass down memory of now)

Suns turn around sheet complete !! this took over 7 hours over many days in procreate auugh

gif ver . (5 fps) how we create turn around is always do via gif animation , then lay it out on sheet . it much easier do and make sure consistent

[warning flickering lights] and timelapse here !

sun is one of few character that felt Needed turn around sheet . many characters in WYGN easy and predictable shape and pattern thus not need turn around

but with sun , she has face fluff , long snout , back pattern , left leg pattern , antlers , many things

it especially is hard understand draw her in different angles , and as their design already solidified , is decide do this to help in future . this no way perfect , but is not mind slight jitter . main purpose of this is to understand how draw her in consistent different angles and use for later

is plan on do bliss then star next .
