CRAB CRAB CRAB
This was my first time working with leather because I got a burning desire for a bag shaped like a horseshoe crab. It has two zippered compartments, and an adjustable strap so it can be worn at my side as a cross-body bag or on my back more like a backpack.

The reason fat cadavers are not accepted for medical programmes is that you need to cut through every layer of fat carefully. Which takes time, and lab sessions are inherentely limited in that. It's better for med students to spend that time looking at what organs actually look like in bodies. This isn't fatphobia, it's just .. the way dissecting bodies works? In the same way surgeries on fat people take longer because there's just physically more tissue. The alternative would be to force the med students who get fatter cadavers to do more lab sessions at weird times outside of the usual schedules. Or force them to stay over the holidays. Or not let them get enough time to do the lab work they need to. Which imo would be a bit fucked up especially when med school is already so difficult and time-consuming.
It’s fatphobia. Fat bodies absolutely need to be studied. To ignore an entire demographic of oppressed individuals in the medical field for the sake of convenience(?!) is violence. Did you even read the article? They called working on fat cadavers “unpleasant.” It’s fatphobia and it’s unacceptable.

I'm immensely entertained by everyone calling ally the straight man and the most experienced of the group (you're correct) while also doing So Bad. I don't think Jennifer has had one good moment this season. So sorry girlie. Queen of getting her ass handed to her.

Sometimes I forget why I was diagnosed with adhd and why adhd is classified as a disability
Then I remember that I don't remember most of my childhood. Not because I suppressed it due to trauma or alike, but because my brain was too busy trying to process anything at all with all that fucking external input and stimulation to log memories. I know that because ever since getting headphones & being more able to control what stimulation my brain gets on a daily basis my memory has significantly increased, as in I remember where I am in space and time (I'm serious) and if I go on a trip I won't forget it three days after coming home (I'm serious). As in I won't have forgotten how school works when summer is ending (I'm serious).
Once, when going home from an inprov theater thing I'd had after school for over a year, I forgot how to walk to the bus. It was about 2 or 3 blocks, but I had no memories of how to get there, absolutely none. I has walked it on autopilot so long that when i tried to think up the way i drew a compleat blank and ended up standing lost on a streat i did not recognize, despite having walked on if every week for over a year. If I didn't have a phone right then, I think I might not have made it home. This was wayyyy before my diagnosis, by the way.
Point is adhd is hard. Neurodivergency in general is hard!! There are so many more symptoms than you think, and sometimes we don't know about them ourselves until afterwards
Go easy on us, we're trying

so i feel like i should probs mention this for anyone who might come across it as a bit of a PSA.
last week, i ran into an issue with a nurse practitioner because my former PCP moved away. i'm not gonna go into major details here because i tend to keep my personal life offline, but the bottom line was that this nurse practitioner:
changed my meds without my consent (basically guilting me about it, since they are controlled substances in the USA)
claimed my former doctor was just "prescribing whatever her patients wanted," implying i asked to be prescribed the meds i was on (i did not)
implied other doctors "toe the line of safety" in the practice
lied about inter-medication reactions (i.e.: claimed that a certain combo i was on was "dangerous" when it was not)
prescribed me a medication that actually does interact with another medication i already take (whereas the previous one did not)
tried to obfuscate information and change the narrative from "i don't want to prescribe controlled substances" to "i care about your safety"
reason i bring this up is because i feel like a lot of young people don't really know what to do in a situation like this, especially if they're taking a controlled substance (at least in the USA).
so what do you do if a doctor, nurse practitioner, or other medical professional tries to take your necessary medication away due to it being a controlled substance? if you're in a wider hospital network (i.e.: clinics that are not actually in a hospital, but might operate under a hospital "banner," like "cleveland clinic," for example), you do have an option to take.
it's called a medical ombudsman, or patient advocate. these people are employed by the health care company, but their sole purpose is to keep the medical professionals in check to ensure that those practitioners are actually operating with the patient's best interests in mind.
they also cover things like inappropriate behavior (sexual harassment, non-medically needed touching etc), disrespectful behavior (sarcasm or unwanted teasing, etc), and so on, but they will absolutely assist you with things like being denied a medication you've taken for years because the doctor "just doesn't feel like it," basically.
you can first start by searching for "patient advocate [clinic name]" to see what results populate for you. they typically operate over the phone, but some departments will also have an email address you can message, too.
i know that's a lot of info but
tl;dr: if you have been denied medication by a doctor or other prescribing staff that you have been taking for a long time and there is no medically sound reason for you to be taken off of it, you should absolutely contact an ombudsman or patient advocate to fight on your behalf.
don't be intimidated by medical professionals. they are supposed to be there to help you, not scold you or guilt you about your disorders or illnesses. it's especially bad for my ADHD folks out there, since most of us are prescribed stimulants/controlled substances that are medically necessary for us to function.
doctors tend to get blinders on, only thinking of the larger picture and what that means for their job security. it is 100% true that doctors have to be careful when prescribing these medications due to their addictive properties. they should do their own due diligence to determine medical need and not simply "give" their patients what they want. but an alarming amount of them are also straight-up denying people medication that they've been on because it's easier to prescribe them a non-controlled substance that might work, but also might not work as well or even have its own set of undesirable side-effects.
that's all. don't allow yourself to be bullied.

showering:
pros: you get to feel clean. you get non greasy hair, non oily feeling skin, it just in general makes you feel better, more energised, refreshed.
cons: there are so many steps. oh my god are there so many steps. before getting into the shower there are steps. during the shower there are steps. and once youve gotten out of the shower? guess what!!! more fucking steps!!!!!!!! UGHHHH

reminder that adhd medication isn't a luxury or preference, but a lifesaving medication. a 10 year long study in the usa showed that, when properly medicated, the rate of car crashes people with adhd get into goes down significantly--men's rate drops by 38%, and women's by 42%. the med shortage, denial of meds by doctors, rising prices, and war on drugs has killed--with such a car dependent society, not driving frequently isn't an option, which means we need better healthcare and need it now.

Twitch Streamer Mary Ann Skuttle AU
She almost exclusively plays video games, tho sometimes she reviews the quality and cuteness of plushies. Sometimes she updates people on her quokki pet's level or how her personal AC Island looks, or her longest running Stardew Farm. (Maru IS her favorite Stardew marriageable NPC because it reminds her of her "loser boyfriend".)
Sometimes she gets her friends to play games with her on stream, or they're just in the background hanging out. Once when a game comes out that Mary Ann is legit excited for (in her own way) everyone gathers in a little watch party in the background with snacks as they settle in for the Marathon stream about to happen.
If she misses some streams she probably tosses out a simple update about her and her friends being on a quest or something similar that she implies is kinda lame. Her watchers KNOW she's an adventurer but there is never any elaboration.
They also know she has a boyfriend but known VERY little about him.
Loser Boyfriend™️ Confirmed Facts
1. Loser
2. His quokki pets gameplay is trash
3. Also an adventurer ig
4. Plays drums sometimes
5. They officially met when she curb-stomped his ass at a sports tryouts and he got mad. (No elaboration)
6. He made her a switch capable of running ROMhacks and mods.
7. Half-orc. The only times they have ever seen him is once or twice when he wordlessly hands her a mango soda from off screen. They have an entire emote of his hand with the soda bottle they spam sometimes. (#bottleboi)
Which is to say when Gorgug shows up in the background of the stream one day, cause Mary Ann rearranged or was streaming from somewhere else temporarily, people start freaking out.
Mary Ann notices but only comments "yeah, that's my loser boyfriend. Don't worry about it."
THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE MARY ANN!!!
THAT'S GORGUG THISTLESPRING, FAMOUS 4X WORLD SAVING RENOWN ADVENTURER BEFORE HE EVEN FINISHED HIGHSCHOOL, THE FIRST EVER BARBIFICER IN THE WORLD, AND GODDAMN FAMOUS ROCK STAR.
YOU CALL HIM YOUR LOSER BOYFRIEND?????
"His quokki pets gameplay is trash."
MA'AM-
