Basic Stella Crids Info currently
So I came to talk about What is a Stella Crid?
For now, these magical creatures are called Stella Crids. They are the embodiment of the star that is wished upon. They all are made of starlight and can change opacity to be seen by the visible eye (however, animals and children will be able to see them still when they are invisible to adults. Along with anyone with a Stella Crid or anyone who still has hope strong enough to keep wishing and believe) So, they are named after the star that is wished upon, along as are something that has to do with the constellation the star is from! Currently, I'm still deciding why the character in the story get these out of everyone else who wishes upon a star. The other information I have for them is that they want to help their owner, or wisher, get their wish, whatever that may be. However, the idea is that people miss use the wishing concept. When one wishes, they are supposed to also work to that wish, as a show that they generally want this wish. However, people in this world don't get that. They will wish away but do nothing to work towards it, or they work for the wrong thing and miss understand what they truly want. In a way, the Stella Crids want people to using wishing properly, so they end up coming to their wisher to have them help spread this concept (since someone is willing to use people's wishes to corrupt them by wishing on a "tainted star", more about that later!!) Another piece of information, one doesn't need an item to transform with their Stella Crid. So what is this?
A Stella Watch. My concept is these are later made for the heroes as an easier way to transform. It is draining on both the wisher and the Stella Crid to transform normally. This watch helps with the power levels and shows the wisher how tired their Stella Crid will be. However, if you have transformed for years, you and your Stella Crid would be using to transforming without one. The watch also serves as an easy way for the heroes to communicate with the others too when transformed. That is what I have so far on the concept! I still need to sort out the ideas before I have it set in stone.

The Concept designs for the people
Now I am done having y'all wait on the concept art for this series. I'll show you all the Concept art I have so far on the heroes!! (so far, I only have a few down, but they help give you an idea of what I'm aiming at).
As a reminder, the concept currently is that these people made a wish upon a star, and that star materialized into a little creature they transform with. So the creatures are named after stars in Constellations, while the human represents the constellation the star is from. For example, If I was to wish upon Skat, a star in Aquarius, my whole hero design would be of Aquarius.
Lucia, I planned for her to be Andromeda, the chained princess. So, I tried my best to make her outfit not only elegant and easy to fight it but comes across like a princess. The chains are added as an accessory due to the original story of Andromeda.
Kami, I planned for her to be Fornax, the furnace. This was a challenge, but I just wanted to give her an outfit that looks like she can dance in it, perfect for it she's dancing in somewhere hot. Her weapon, however, I'm planning to be this huge oven fan, which keeps the whole Fornax theme.
Nia, I planned for her to be Pyxis, the compass. Pyxis is specially a sailor's compass, so it made sense to draw her in a slight sailor outfit (and yes, my inner Sailor Moon fan was hyped about this). However, I struggled a bit since I wanted to make sure it looked like it was its own thing and not something from Sailor Moon. I hope I accomplished that since I love this design the most!
Luisa, I planned for her to be Leo. Sure, Leo sounds masculine, but female lions are the ones that do the most in the prides! To be, it felt only fitting that a woman would represent the lion constellation. I would also like to think, that the constellations don't care what gender their hero is. I also loved giving her things that resemble a tail and ears when it's just fabric. The "ears" are just a bow, and her "tail" is just the back of her top going down into a thin piece of fabric. Luisa's design also changed the least from the original concept for Spirit Animals!
That is all the heroes... how about I show the main villain? mmmm maybe not, I'll let the reveal of them be a big surprise

What the original comic looked like
I am enjoying sharing the history of the idea of my magical hero series with the characters in it. So I will show you all the firsts' things I have made for it, when i was working on making the old concept with animal theme for Webtoon There are two versions of it, one was the very first, and others were an updated version of that.
For example, the covers.
The one on the right was going to be the one that I wanted to use for the cover of the series. However, I made the second one due to Webtoon has limitation on size for the covers, while there is more freedom in the comic pages. The same also went for the mini covers.
Tho that has something to do with that the first image, i guessed what size it would have to be before looking it up. But even when I enlarge it, it was over the limit.
I wanted to make the covers looked cool to remind people of classic magical girl series. Which is why the original mini cover has the hero persona in like a mirror surface (I always loved it when magical girl series, like Sailor Moon, did that!!)
Now on to the... never finished first part of this series! ^^
Here were the original pages of the first episode/chapter I was working on. The idea I had is that Lucia, the girl, would wake up and try to calm herself down before she rushes out the door to an event she was working, or volunteering, at.
The idea was that Lucia was tired and honestly struggling with life. So this series not only was about a magical hero series, but about broken people, coming together to help the other, while being able to help others that were like them. So, a story on healing in a way. Now reminder, these are really old drawings. I was about 17-18 when I was working on this. But not long after i made these pages, I wanted to redo how they looked.
I like the approach to this one a lot better to the old one. I felt like adding the additional panels help bring the emotion that at the time I wanted to show. It felt more properly to when someone wakes up from a nightmare, since of course they would take a moment to figure out if they are awake or not. I was also proud of the layout of her room, since I struggle with scenes sometimes, I was happy that everything, at the time, looked decently in the right place perspective wise. Plus, I added a poster as an easter egg to another magical hero series I've been working on with A LOT of art of! ^^ Also, I tried really hard to make the first two seem to blend into each other, but it didn't turn out perfect.
Thankfully, I would say I have gotten better at comic making (or I'd like to hope so). I def may use the original starting idea for Wish Upon A Star, since it does follow the same concept. Broken souls trying to help others that are broken for the most part. I hope you all enjoyed this little blast from the past.

Where it all started.
Originally, this series started as a "Spirit Animal" series with me and my friends. It was something I made on Wattpad back when I was in 9th grade (I was in 9th grade in 2018-2019). It was also when I started doing digital art on my laptop with Microsoft Paint and Paint 3D.
However, I stopped working on it because I was struggling with ideas, and I had other things I was working on.
Around the summer of 2022, I grabbed this idea and decided to use my own characters for it. The concept was people unleashing their inner spirit animals... and they just so happened to also have an element theme.
They would be put into situations, where their inner spirit animal would be telling them that they don't have to hold back who they are anymore.
And I went so far to prep making it on Webtoon (I can share the comic pages another day.) I even made a tiktok on this.
I also have some extra drawings I'd love to show you all some other time where I drew them as Tokyo Mew Mew (or Mew Mew Power) characters.
Now, because I got into Arcana Twilight, and it made my love for astronomy stronger, I had the idea to turn these characters into a new series.
And then it was basically a shower thought of "what if it's a series where they wish on a star?"
(I wish I was kidding, but i LITTERALLY had the thought while showering.) I also used one of those "Magical Girl Dress Up" sites to brain storm ideas
I like the concept of the magical heroes seem to have a top piece that is over top something underneath. You'll see that I used that concept in some of the designs. I even use the wing idea for the little magical creatures the characters transform with. I hope you all enjoyed this concept history!

A Project?
Gloria Gloryheart here, and I bring to you my ideas for this series.
I had these characters from another series I was working on which I called "The Spirit Animals". This series was originally me and my friends, then I changed it to be of my own characters. Over the time, as I looked over that series, I realized "I don't like this concept as much anymore!"
I love magical hero series a lot! I especially love it when they have little animal sidekicks with them. I also love astronomy.
I had the idea, "What if... there was a magical hero series... about wishing upon a star?"
I welcome you to the concept of "Wish Upon A Star"! A magical hero series where the heroes had wished on a star and now, they have the powers from that star! I will slowly share more about the series, including the concept art I have over time as I work on this.
Until then, I hope you'll join me on this journey.
