“If you defend Jinx but not Caitlyn you’re a hypocrite” no it’s just that I recognize the difference between the oppressed and the oppressor and how they will NEVER be comparable.
I know what Cait is going through and it’s exactly because I understand that type of loss that I cannot defend her actions. I understand her feelings towards Jinx, but that is where I draw the line. Because no matter what, she is actively part of an oppressive system that neglects the lives of thousands. Because no matter what, she is an enforcer who (now purposefully) perpetuates police brutality. Because despite her privilege and her role in this oppressive system, it’s still Vi who has to prove herself worthy, who has to prove that she’s different, that she’s “the good one”. Because she has a limited amount of empathy towards the Zaunite, but that empathy runs out the moment they actually and rightfully react to their oppression. And yes, I know it’s because she lost her mother. But this is beyond grief. She experiences just a fragment of the ordeal and pain the Zaunite go through their whole lives, and suddenly she is the one justified to become basically a fascist? Her grief explains her desire of revenge against Jinx. It doesn’t excuse in the slightest her treatment of Zaun and its people, or her asking Vi to become an enforcer, or her saying things like “I understand now how easy it is to hate them” and “what kind of animals”. Her loss doesn’t justify her acting out on her grief at the expense of the lives of innocent civilians, nor any of the actions she will commit from now on.
Because despite of the reason why Jinx did it, bombing the council was an extremely powerful and necessary political move. And yes, in that room there were characters we all love. Yes, I will keep defending Jinx. Because a revolution against topside is the right thing to do and the only way for the people of Zaun to be free of their oppression.
I like Caitlyn and I do hope she eventually comes to her senses, but how people have more empathy towards a girl who lost her mother — who despite everything still remains at the top of her society and who holds immense privilege — than towards thousands of oppressed people who go through unspeakable things every day is beyond me. You will NEVER catch me defending a cop.
And I also need people to stop babyfying Caitlyn and blaming everything on Ambessa. Now Ambessa is beginning to manipulate her. But everything that she’s done up until this point is of her own doing. And whether Ambessa will be able to manipulate her and to what extent, Caitlyn is still perfectly able to make her own choices, and like we’ve already seen, she is there because she wants to, because right now, at least to a certain degree, her view aligns with Ambessa’s. She is not as naive as you paint her to be. That’s what makes her a complex and interesting character. No, I am not “villainizing” Caitlyn. I am simply seeing her for the person she is becoming.
+ I saw someone pointing out how Cassandra’s coffin definitely cost more money than most people of Zaun ever saw in a lifetime. Just think about Caitlyn having the PRIVILEGE to only focus on her grief, to bury and mourn her mother properly. Then think about how Jinx “buried” Silco. How probably the vast majority of people in Zaun can’t even afford any kind of burial. And I’m supposed to have equal empathy for those people? I’m on Zaun’s side 100% and I’m not sorry.

I really love how Ekko and the Firelights are essentially the real version of Viktor and his commune -
The Firelights are an actual community not a hive mind. We see through small interactions between Ekko and Scar that the Firelights aren’t mindlessly obedient to Ekko and his will. They follow him because they trust and respect Ekko, but that doesn’t mean they can’t disagree with him.
The Firelight’s base is also this brightly colorful and vibrant hub, but unlike the commune it looks to be from Zaun made by Zaunites; rather than inspired by the Arcane and another culture, that’s distinctly not Zaun-like.
Finally, despite Viktor’s genuine desire to help people, his changes and progress are at best temporary because everything is 100% reliant on him – we literally see that when he dies, everything crumbles instantly.
But when Ekko went missing (presumed dead) the Firelights continued on; sure, they’re struggling and mourning their leader, but they’re still working towards a better tomorrow. Ekko actually made something bigger than himself; a real community that will last well beyond him.
And yeah, I just really love that; Ekko is the real savior of Zaun not Viktor.

Timebomb brainrot has consumed me and I've started noticing some takes/misinterpretations so I have few words I'd like to share.
Warning y'all right now it's going to be a long ass RANT.
Let's start off with the AU timeline, okay?
Did people not pick up on the fact that AU Powder and Ekko were already in a relationship...?
Cause, it's obvious in the episode with the way AU Powder interacts with Ekko, and how other characters speak around them.
Ekko even says "can we pretend it's the first time" before they kiss! Cause it is the first time he gets to kiss the girl he loves, but for AU Powder this is just her kissing her boyfriend who she has done so many times before.
Genuinely, where is all this "she's gonna leave her universe and find OG Ekko" and "She's in love with OG Ekko" coming from?
She wouldn't just leave her Ekko, her boyfriend, to chase after another version of him, ntm abandoning her family and friends too.
The time OG Ekko and AU Powder had was nice, don't get me wrong, but they both have versions of Ekko/Jinx in their respective universes that they love... they're not leaving them for other versions of themselves.
Now onto our boy saviour and what the take away for him was after staying in the AU actually was.
AU Powder and AU Ekko's relationship shows our Ekko what could have been if their circumstances were different. Not just for him and Jinx, but their friends and families too.
Ekko literally apologized because he gave up on his worlds Jinx.
His time there made him finally realise that he has always loved and is still in love with his world's Jinx...it's just that seeing things in this AU finally smacked him out of him constantly denying that.
Let me also remind you the first thing he does is go to save her (boy saviour moment) but unlike the last time with Silco.....he refuses to give up on her.
And this time he succeeds. They showed up to war covered in each other's colors and marked with each other's tags.
....and in the end, the last time we see him he's mourning her.
The girl he loves.
His Jinx.
He got her back....only to lose her again.
It makes all of this a bigger tragedy...
The boy who shattered time...in the end didn't have enough time with the girl he loves.
TLDR: Ekko and Jinx/Powder may love each other in every universe, but that don't mean they'll just ditch their respective Ekko or Jinx/Powder cause their yearning for another version of them (they're not)
This is not a Miraculous Ladybug situation, we are not going to do any love squares or hexagons or octagons or whatever the hell Marinette and Adrian morphed into.

I always found it interesting how certain characters like Vi, Silco, and Ekko separated Jinx and Powder, a tendency that was common among those closest to her.
After s2 episode 7, it may seem like Ekko only loves "Powder", but the whole story of Jinx is about how there're no separate Jinx and Powder, they are the same girl. You can call her different names, but her experience makes her what she is. Beyond experience, there are core traits that both Jinx/Powder in both timelines share. They are both brilliant, sharp, dedicated to their mission and so on. And I want to highlight this Ekko's line
This is how he describes Powder/Jinx from his timeline. Even when she uses her powers to harm, Ekko sees this potential in her. He understands that she is amazing. Meeting another Jinx/Powder helps him realize that it's precisely because she was unable to change the world for the better due to her circumstances.
It doesn't matter if one Powder (Jinx) believes that she should help everyone or another Jinx (Powder) that she can only bring grief… The way Powder/Jinx affects the environment is always fundamental. And this fascinates Ekko, it can't let him go in any timeline.

Imma start taking my son away from some of yall because i be seeing the most heinous takes.
"Ekko only cares about Powder and would never love Jinx."
THE WHOLE POINT OF HIM GOING BACK IS BECAUSE HE REALIZED HE NEEDED TO LOVE JINX AS MUCH AS HE LOVED POWDERD. THEY ARE THE FUCKING SAME PERSON. AND IF HE ONLY CARED ABOUT ONE SIDE HE WOULD HAVE STAYED HIS ASS IN THE ALT DIMENSION!
They were both hurting, they both did and said shit they didn't mean. Ekko looking at Powder healthy and happy made him realize. Jinx could heal, that his love didn't just stop. It never went away, he still loved her. Its why he gentle with her, why he rewinds time. Its why he corrects himself.
Jinxs will literally haunt him because all this time spent angry could have been used to reset like they did when they finally talked.
GOD- don't piss me off slandering my son.
