Well gosh, if spring isn't going to hurry up and get here on its own, I'm just going to have to make my own version inside! 🌿 ⁠ .⁠ Every year around this time, I put away the last of our winter-y decorations, buy a gazillion house plants, make a thousand to-do lists, and spend way too much time with my nose pressed against the windows, staring outside at my muddy, brown gardens, looking for little signs of life. I also switch out my photo props a bit -- bye bye pinecones and bottlebrush trees, hello colorful birdies and house plants! 🐥🌈🌱 How do you all gear up for spring? For those of you following along with our ongoing sofa saga, I'm happy to report that as of today, we've given up on the cursed Craigslist sofa and have ordered a new one. Chalking it up as an expensive lesson learned! 🤷🏻 In the meantime, all of the constant furniture shuffling has me itching to do some more rearranging, so I thought I'd share our current design situation before I start messing with things. I've been hearing a lot of my pals talking about feeling a bit down lately as winter drags on, so I thought today seemed like a good day to share this happy little fella -- and also to tell you that even though I'm allllllll about spreading smiles and color and joy here on IG, sometimes life gets me feeling pretty darn bad, too. I feel ya. 🖤 And I have to tell you, friends -- this little community of lovely people I've (mostly) never met has helped to pull me out of more than one tough time, and I'm so thankful for that. It is seriously cold and snowy and blowy out there today, and I for one am just not feeling it anymore. I just love books -- and always have. I majored in English in undergrad, went to even more school to become a librarian, and still think of myself as someone who buys and sells books. 📚💕 But then the other day I was tidying up my studio and trying to find room for the stacks of dreamy vintage books I seem to have everywhere (I swear they're multiplying when I'm not looking!), and I realized that I'm not so much a vintage book seller as a vintage book hoarder... er, I mean, collector. 😅 I think it's finally time to change that and I'm ready to let some of them go... so I'm wondering -- what sorts of books are you all looking for? Do you like to buy rainbow collections? Collections based on color? Books based on a particular theme? Okay, it's official: I'm obsessed with colorful vintage drinking glasses. ✨ It's one of those things that's taken me a while to warm up to for some reason, but now that I've turned the corner, I can see a whole lot more of it in my future! 🌈 Can you relate?
