FAMILIAR FAMILIAR is a self indulgent TOTK AU where Link and Zelda traverse the wild lands of Hyrule together. There are ruins to be discovered and monsters to be eaten.

Can I ask, if you have top favorite romantic couples (can be canon or non canon) of all time from any media? Why love them? Thx :D

... now this, took a minute to answer in some ways. There a lot of ships I like, so this was really easy and hard to answer at the same time. Some ships it was an immediate yep yep and others I had to go '... but is it a fav of all time, though?" But I think I got it narrowed down.

So here we go, fav ships of all time from any media, no particular order. I didn't get any specific no. to do so I'll just list a handful until I can't think of any others. (Anyone who comes across this that sees a ship on here you don't like and feels the need to say something about it, stay in your lane this ain't about your opinions it's about mine.)

The main FMA ships

Arakawa Hiromu, nigga, you cooked. Imma just put the FMA ships as one and leave it there because if I do it separately, we'll be here all day. But if you wanna see me diving into why I like these ships in a manic ramble, here's a post I made on that here. The romance in FMA is literally a category and a discussion all on its own that I can go about on for hours. FMA has the best romances in shounen so anyone who has consumed FMA will know what I'm talking about. Like, whenever anyone tries to use a manga being 'shounen' to justify shitty romantic writing, I point at FMA's brilliant riding. An animanga's demographic is not an excuse for terrible executions in romance. EdWin, RoyAi, LingFan, AlMei and all the side ships drank and left no molecules.

NaruSaku

Toxic shippers, again, stay in your lane, I don't feel like dealing with y'all any day. I have been shipping this shit for years, always have, always will. Ignore the fact I ship Sakura with literally everyone from the Akatsuki to Hinata to Sai to Shikamaru. (Y'all I used to look up Kisame/Sakura fics, unironically TAT). (Same for Naruto honestly, I've shipped him with Sasuke, Ino, Temari, Tenten, the list goes on and on.) The way Sakura goes from finding Naruto annoying to almost dying multiple times to keep him safe, I will never EVER be over that. Naruto's love going from puppy to something as passionately red as the thread of fate itself. The MinaKushi parallels. I have a lot (and I mean a lot) of ships in Naruto pertaining to these two, but NaruSaku is my absolute favorite. Like it was literally confirmed that Sakura got over Sasuke and then it got retconned for some bullshit. Saying it with my whole chest, argue with a wall, it should have been them. I won't dog any other ships, but yeah, it should have been them. 699 chapters of Naruto being in love with one woman, I sing the praises everyday.

SakuHina

Hinata's prince charming is literally Sakura. I have a whole ass fic I am slowly, painstakingly writing about what Naruto would have been like if Hinata had a crush on Sakura the whole time. I just think they're really cute together, have amazing chemistry and balance each other out. I didn't expect to like SakuHina as much as I did but here we are.

Kyoru

I mentioned it before in another answered ask but Fruits Basket was my first manga (if you're curious what my first anime was, it was Yu Yu Hakusho) and Kyoru was probably my first OTP. There are two characters I think upon so many rewatches and rereads that were prime game for who Kyo and Tohru could have ended up with had things been different (which, I do really ship as well. Multishipper here guys) but I'm not mad about the endgames that we got. From start to finish, Kyo and Tohru's relationship is beautiful and you can feel how strongly they feel for one another. It's like, wow, Takaya really gave us one of the best ships in shoujo and didn't even apologize for it.

Klance

Red + Blue = True. They had chemistry, supplemented for what the other lacked and we really don't need to have me diving into the bs that was VLD. That show wasn't even out long, my god, it was a mess.

NeuviFuri

Should I explain to you the romanticism of Hydro x Hydro? Oof how I love them. A Genshin ship after my own heart, truly. But if anyone is trying to against MiHoyoverse (I was here from the Mihoyo days, leave me alone) in terms of seeing who ships NeuviFuri more, we all lose. They literally paid people to do an ice dancing program in NeuviFuri cosplay, paid a guy to make a companion piece to Furina's song from Neuvillette's perspective and several other animations concerning their relationship in some way. But the Mihoyoverse shenanigans aside, it's the build up of 400+ years of working together, the care they still have for one another and yes the complementary abilities and color palettes. Not enough time in the day to talk about them, I don't think.

AriDante

Almost thought I wouldn't have a gif for them, then I remembered THEY GOT A MOVIE. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is one of my favorite books in the world. I have reread it once a year religiously since 2017 when I first discovered it. This is such a beautiful novel and relationship and if you haven't had the pleasure of reading it or the sequel, please do yourself a favor and buy it or rent it from your local library. It's just, the way Ari has been in love with Dante for so long and didn't even realize it but it's so, so clear to the reader because of just how he talks and describes him? I don't even want to go to deep into this one just in case there's someone here that hasn't read this book because it deserves to be read and experienced blind. Just, just please y'all read it.

🥳WHO IS CELEBRATING WITH ME TODAY?🤩 🍥🌸 9 years ago, the NaruSaku fandom came together in one of the most beautiful creative expression I have ever witnessed. 🧙We alchemized the pain of loss into the love of creation and that is how Shinachiku Uzumaki was born. 🥳To celebrate his birthday, I played around with the concept sketches PumiiH sent me before the final version was set-up, to create some sort of scrapbook kind of thing, symbol of the good ol’ times.

I gonna say it one more time... I'm also a NaruHina shipper, but all they development goes to the bottom of some river in the moment Hinata confesses and Naruto just forget about it and for the simple reason Naruto always loved Sakura...

Oooh but in the last it said that his fellings for her was merely rivalrity...

First of all, the last and all the novels for me didn't have any height or relevant in the main history, isn't cannon... Those novels weren't made by Kishimoto, can be official, but isn't cannon and this thing that Naruto's love is the result of a rivalry is pure bullshit for the simple reason that wasn't never ever showed in the cannon manga or any databooks wrote by Kishimoto.

And I'm going to add here a little detail in regard to this fact that all the anti NaruSaku like to brag about

Sakura's confession

All of them talk and talk about this ("this" I mean as if Naruto's fellings was caused by a rivalrity) and they forgot 4 things

1. Naruto is clearly saying he didn't like when people are lying about themselves, otherwise, when they're lying about what they're felling.

But more than that, Naruto realizes there're something wrong in her speech, not in her confession... This because Naruto RECOGNIZES her FELLINGS for Sasuke and then he got confused when out of nowhere she appears and confesses to him something he never imagined to hear. He didn't know why she was doing that even though he knew what her go through for Sasuke... And he noticed that's was something wrong when he said: Why you came all the way just to said that (to confess to him)?

So he realized she was hidden something beyond the confession, because even though he loves her, he can't deny the fact she care about Sasuke because he saw and witnessed all the suffering Sakura go through because of him.

So in this point Naruto could RECOGNIZE her fellings and he's clearly saying he didn't like when someone's lie about themselves, that show to us that for him, being true to yourself is something that Naruto values.

And yeah yeah... Naruto can be a little dumb sometimes, but when it comes from something he wants and what he truly belives he is the men with atitudes and veracity... So nope, I can believe he can't understand what is love or the difference between love a person or a food.

2. Sakura herself recognized Naruto's fellings as real.

こんな自分を今では守り、ずっと好きでいてくれた、ナルトに報いるために。

To reward Naruto, who has protected me and loved me for a long time.

"Aaah, but in manga Naruto said he didn't understand girls..."

Yeeah, this is true that he said this two times: One with Jiraya and the other to his own dad, but goosh he was just 12 🙄 even the girls can't understand boys at that age and after that he was too busy saving the world, and as he said, even in the 17 he belives he was too young for that and alcohol, but for god's sake, this can't take the merith to love someone, after all, sometimes we can't understand ourselves.

And I love this painel because the account that used that to minimize his fellings for Sakura didn't realizes how many times Sakura's is compared to Kushina and Naruto is clearly saying that he found a girl like his mother, but he knew she was unreachable because he knew she loves someones else.

3. Naruto and Sasuke relationship

Their rivalry was never about Sakura, or if it even had to do with Naruto's feelings for Sakura and I can prove it with just one panel of the manga:

And for anyone who wants to say otherwise I want you to bring proofs of the canonical work's, the manga or databooks. I'm gonna like to see it.

Remembering that The Last is official, but not canonical since it wasn't Kishimoto who wrote it.

4. All the history Naruto character go through is about love

I hate that part in The Last to justified Naruto's fellings for Sakura and for justify why he never noticed Hinata soooooo wrong because all the history Naruto was about is love, not only in romantic way.

The first time Naruto learn about how love works in a romantic way was with Haku, in chapter 21 and he could RECOGNIZE that at the moment Haku sacrifices his life for Zabuza and in his battle against Gaara we saw again Naruto gain forces to protect Sakura and he remembers the same words Haku said at that time.

And sorry, this isn't the same when he "protect" Hinata... He almost kill her in fact and he wasn't conscious after all, he was consumed by rage 🤔 but this isn't a anti NH post since I'm also a NH fan.

Well, we saw Naruto's loves for Iruka (and that's the first time he felt someone could love him), for his parents, his friends and all he learned with those who pass through his life had some kind of love involved, and he learned it...

But man, I really fell pissed when soymeone take this from Naruto, when they devalue this LOVE he felt and learn. The precious thing about protect those comrades and friends... They changed the essence in Naruto's character to justify the unjustified.

Naruto loved Sakura from the bottom of his heart and that's impossible to deny.

"Aaah, but Love in a romantic way isn't the same kind of love he learned and felt for those you mentioned."

Well, let's see whats Kishimoto thinks about it.
