This is Erik _ Eric is one of those young men, who is very friendly and respectful, but isn’t easy to fool. He can read fakeness from a mile away. One can see the seriousness that is always in his eyes, even when he smiles. It’s like he’s standing back and watching a situation before it takes place. _ He has been through a lot and has only just left middle school. For example he has had three different youth pastors in the past three years. Many would have been shaken by such a mountainous spiritual journey, yet Erik hasn’t lost his footing. _ Erik is an amazing story of God holding on to His son in the midst of a difficult journey. 3 tips to survive school this year📓📎 - 1. Prep your clothes the night before. 𝐀𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦. Everything and everyone seems to want your attention. The less stuff you have to worry about doing in the morning, the more smooth your morning will go. This is why I suggest laying out your clothes and packing your backpack before you go to bed. Then you can wake up, eat and get ready without worrying about what you might wear. Seriously just bought the the last of all the spam at walmart. _ There is a real solemn feeling on the island today. It’s a feeling of uncertainty. And when I’m feeling uncertain I start to look for things that seem certain. Even if they are things aren’t good for me, because, to be honest, I just want to feel numb to the uncertainty. It’s easy to turn to laughter as a coping mechanism. And I think laughter is a gift from God. But even after laughing the truth is still there. _ There’s a story in the Bible where the disciples are in the middle of a huge storm and they are losing it! They can’t find Jesus and then all of a sudden He comes walking out on the water. I mean He’s walking on the water like He’s taking a stroll down the street. He shows them who’s really in control even in the midst of the storm. _ If everything in life is uncertain, there’s one person that is: God. God will not be shaken by what’s around Him, because He is above it all. Keep us in prayer here in Hawaii, but above all, keep God on the throne.
