im sure it would've made a lot of people enraged regarding Worf but god, if they were just going to kill Jadzia off at the end of the season anyways, she really should have died in episode 16 "Change of Heart". The moral conundrum and impossible choice of weighing of lives in war would've had so much more impact, and the sacrificing of Jadzia for Lasaran (and therefore his intel) would've given her death more oomf

I don't actually hate Jack Crusher Jr. Like I think that he is, on his merits, kind of an absolute nothing-burger of a character, too nondescript to really form a strong opinion about one way or another. What I hate is (1) that the writers kept beating us over head with what an Incredibly Special Boy he is when he's just a bland Han Solo knockoff, (2) that they act like biological fatherhood is the supreme consummation of Jean-Luc Picard's legacy, and (3) that his very presence just relentlessly pulls the plot and character arcs into his orbit, with Beverly Crusher bring the primary victim.

Trektober Day 29 - Universal Translator Mishap. I'd imagine that without professional translation, most books run through the UT wouldn't be much better than Google Translate (although I suspect that Garak can read them just fine and is playing along anyway. It'd be weird to not learn at least a couple extra languages in the tailoring business).

Trektober Day 28 - Anniversary. If there's one couple I root for as much as Book Club in Star Trek, it's these two - Gul Dukat and Kai Winn are the two most horrible people in the quadrant, have wonderful chemistry and deserve to grow old together (in a penal colony, far away from everyone).

If I were president of Doctor Who, I'd make a Simpsons episode and I'm not joking

Trektober Day 27: Domesticity. Your regular reminder that Cardassians flirt through squabbling, so the DS9 book club debates would likely come across as Gomez and Morticia Addams-level public romancing. I can't imagine that'd change much even after decades.
Yeah, I know it's non-canon, whatever, I am extremely married to the idea that Julian and Ezri would realise they trauma bonded pretty quickly and she'd pack him off to Cardassia with a fond eyeroll.

Trektober Day 20 - Only One Bed. Rosalind Chao gave the impression of trying SO hard to hint the polycule into existence. I hope in some AU or other Keiko was successful.

Trektober day 18 - Captain's Log. Janeway's log saw something that night. Er, sorry to anyone who isn't also a Twin Peaks fan, I guess.
That gum Tom likes is coming back in style (but he's going to struggle to solve the problem of the week).

Trektober Day 21 - Canon Event Fix-It. I have a lot of these (Dr Pulaski stays and has a rivalry with Crusher, Sulu is in all of season 2, Tasha survives the evil puddle, Ziyal lives and dates Jake, Julian goes to Cardassia at the end of DS9, etc etc etc) but this will always be my biggie.
Like, seriously. Miles. You are there. You literally saved a person that medical science could not save (albeit with Geordi and Data teaming up) only a few years ago. Did you not remember? Can you not tell Julian to put your buddy in stasis for a few hours while you reprogram a single computer?
This of course brings up a bit of a major problem with Trek. We've seen so many different issues be solved that when they crop up later we can look at them and go '... don't you know how to deal with this?' - especially when it involves the same characters.
I'm seeing Miles in my mind's eye being at dinner a decade later and suddenly just freezing up and slapping himself in the face.
Anyway. We could have double Dax. It would be EASY. Jadzia would be such a good and terrible influence on Ezri. People would be constantly so confused.
This was a bit of a bugger to do in one day for the challenge so I may draw it more coherently in the future.
