if I had to choose between Mike or Will to be vecna'd, I would say Mike. It's more beneficial to the writing and actually progresses it more than if they vecna'd Will.

The purpose of someone being vecna'd is to provide information or insight about someone's true feelings/fears we haven't learned yet. We already KNOW Will is jealous, we know he is in love, we know he feels like an outsider, we know he feels like a mistake. He's obviously gonna have visions, I don't doubt that! Something like Nancy I imagine. But something similar to Max? That would be cool to WATCH... But... Why? What would we learn from it that we don't already know? It'd be just be the writer's trying to torture Will even more for no actual reason or benefit to the writing.

We don't know Mike's actual perspective. His POV was taken away from us (for a good reason that feels set up for him to be vecna'd). We'd actually learn something about Mike that will progress his character and save it. It's the perfect opportunity. His character has been so off for far too long that I REALLY struggle to see how they can explain it any other way (in an 8 episode season) that isn't him being vecna'd.

Will's actions don't need to be any more explained, the audience already knows what's going on. But the audience sees something really weird and off about Mike. They need more insight of what's going on internally with HIM now. We saw Max acting really weird at the start of S4. We instantly infer that it was because Billy died, but it was BECAUSE of her being vecna'd and having visions that we learned it was far deeper than that. Mike's character needs that.

"But Will is the main focus this season!" Yes, probably as in he will be the hero and crucial to their win!! But can we stop neglecting Mike's character and importance please?? His POV has always been important and primary to the story, whether you'd like to admit it or not. He's a clear target of Vecna's.

was it casual, mike? when you cried the whole way home, completely inconsolable because you believed you'd lost him forever? when you kept all of his drawings in a binder? when you were the only one amongst your friends who believed he was still alive? when you recognized his soft, weak voice through the walkie talkie? when you held him close and said you'd take him home but then took him to your house? was it casual when you told him that if you two were going crazy, then you'd go crazy together? when you used a soft voice you never use with anyone else to tell him he'd not be in danger and held his hand? when you slept by his side in the hospital, when you stood by his side when he was possessed even though you could've just left him for your own safety? when you said asking him to be your friend was the best thing you've ever done with tears in your eyes? when you biked across town under pouring rain to apologize to him because you knew how badly you'd hurt him? when you told him that the hometown you guys share is not the same to you anymore because he's not there, when you missed him so much that you felt like you'd lost him? was it ever casual, mike?

Mike’s face right after Will says “What about us?” is making me insane. He looks so hopeful but conflicted at the same time.

Finn said Mike is clueless about Will’s feelings so why does he interpret Will asking about their friendship as romantic? Why does he feel the need to remind Will that they’re just friends, TWICE??

What other explanation is there for him needing to emphasize this if he has no idea Will is in love with him? There’s no reason for him to be this defensive unless he’s already thought about them being more than friends before.

Then once Mike realizes Will was only asking why they weren’t best friends anymore, he literally looks like he’s about to cry.

Mike is probably really frustrated with himself for even thinking Will was suggesting anything romantic. From his point of view, Will has moved on and found someone he likes. He didn’t reach out while Mike tried to call so many times but never got a call back.

Do you guys ever have a very specific idea of a character in your head and it’s so specific and personal to you that you can’t look at social media for that character because your brain has decided that’s your character or am I crazy
