Happy Endings
(ATWOW x reader x AFOP)
So many fics of Jake leaving daughter!reader on earth and daughter reader holding a grudge and hating Jake or just feeling so hurt daughter!reader becomes some sort of villain and overall depicting Jake as a horrible father in daughter!reader's point of view.
But what about a fic where daughter!reader is left on earth and only feels that anger and grief for a few years and accepts with the terms that Jake is never coming back, that he betrayed the human race. And is possibly better off without you.
You try to form your own life, which is easier said than done when you have the last name 'Sully', which was popular for all the wrong reasons. You were still a teenager but was forced to mature faster to survive the harsh world. Fighting to live every day, both figuratively and literally. You lived in the lower/poorer parts of the cities. Harder to breath, more trashy, potential danger every at every corner (Just Imagean the undercity from Arcane)
So, you were willing to do what it took to survive and still keep your morals and dignity intact. So, when the RDA tracked you down and offered you a job that paid more than the regular illegal drug organizations in your area. You of course jumped at the opportunity. But it did strike you a little odd for being paid to just be in a boot camp. The boot camp was hard, of course it's going to be hard, but the instructors seem to be hard on you specifically. Of course they would, you still have Jake's last name. But there was one instructor that was actually not that bad, Sargent Lee Harries. he treated you normally, never too nice or too bad. Just normal. He pushed you to your limits, not to break you like the other instructors but to make you stronger. And he became the first adult you felt safe around.
It wasn't long till Sargent Harries was able to pull a few strings and was able to have you on his team to take to Pandora. Something you didn't ask for. But hey, the pay was something you could not say no too. You had just turned 18 around this time.
So, I'm assuming people on earth don't know what is really going on at Pandora and the Na'vi are being painted as the villains, when in truth the RDA are the true villains.
So, when you arrived in Pandora and had a front row seat to what the RDA was really doing to Pandora, poisoning the lands and killing everything that wasn't human with no mercy sometimes they do it just for fun. You wanted to stop all of this. But you were just one person and only could sabotage the RDA to delay their evil acts.
But imagine your surprise when your suddenly woken up by one of your teammates in the dead of the night, telling you to hurry and grab your things. You learned not to ask too many questions and just did what they said, grabbing what mattered in a rush and followed your teammates in the hanger meeting with Sargent Harries, you assumed this was a drill? maybe an emergency mission?
No, Sargent Harries was defecting and taking the whole team with him. Questions, everyone had, but the time to ask or answer those questions was not what you all had. So, you all hopped onto the Samson and got the hell out of the RDA facility.
Sargent Harries brought you and your teammates to what was called, the resistance, a bunch of people who left the RDA to help the Na'vi. At first you were worried about running into Jake or being found out about being his daughter. Thankfully, Jake was not here in the western frontier.
“They’re kids Harries.” Alma spoke in a stern tone, unsure of the team of literal teenagers Harries brought.
“Those ‘kids’ can handle a gun better than you.” Lee Harries wasn’t going to let Alma of all people shame him.
“What do you think we can do with them here?! We can’t let kids out to fight.” Alma sighed, facing away from the ex Sargent.
Harries couldn’t help but scoff at the scientists.
“What about those Sarentu kids? Huh? The one who had their sister shot, you just letting them go against RDA 24/7!”
“That’s-. . . That’s different.” Alma shook her head, still believing in whatever lie she had created
“Like hell it is. Your Sarentu kids are the damn same age as my kids, hell, younger. Nothing different here.” Harries glanced over to his team, all he saw was babies, sadly those babies were the best, and that’s how the RDA liked it. Harries didn’t want to make weapons out of these kids, especially you. He knew the RDA had big plans for you.
You and your teammates were huddled in the corner, taking in the resistance hideout.
“They keep staring.” Glen Dean, same age as you. His sharp gray eyes scanning the other resistance members who would glance and give odd looks towards the small group. You eyed Sargent Harris speaking with the woman who seems in charge of everything around here. Human, and Na'vi were here. It was, a little overwhelming for the group.
"I don't think they like us." Trina Hills, the youngest of the whole group, was huddled close near your leg.
"We intimidate them." Jaxs Hills, Trina's twin a few minutes older than Trina. He had a tight grip on his gun. You sighed; Jaxs was right. You all scare the others to some extent. You already caught a Na'vi man with RDA dog tags decorating his vest, scowling at the group of you. You already knew not to mess with him.
"I need a damn smoke."
Yup. Adding in the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora into the mix. The game as the movie have the same timeline I minus well.
