Wild Drawing with Frances: Thursday, 29th August, 10am
Tumblr media
Wild Drawing! Or Wild Mark-Making (for those who don’t feel they can draw at all).
A let-loose drawing session for all! Break free from constraints or self judgement! (They restrict ones drawing abilities.) Let go and flow your intrinsic self expression.  A useful skill in any field - since cave painting! Start with the freeing principle: if you can hold some form of mark-making implement, you CAN draw! Includes backwards/upside down/mud/stick/foot/food and blind image creation…

Fast Art with Sophie, Bank Holiday Monday, 26 August, 10:30am - 3:30pm
Tumblr media
Sophie says:
"FAST ART is a workshop designed to ruffle your creative thinking feathers into an efficient, swift, collaborative and imaginative mindset. Sticking to an approximate 5 hour schedule, we will do some major idea generation, problem solving with a small budget, hand-make our idea using our small budget, exhibit what we have made and also hit the streets of Brighton to sell our art too. The Fast Art workshop will guide you through one whole cycle of the art world economy in a fun and simplistic way.”
Please bring :
- ÂŁ1 each to put towards our budget
- A packed lunch and snacks
- if you like, also some arty resources such as paper and paint
FAST ART sessions don’t require any artistic experience. It’s about working together, being open minded, trying things out and learning tricks to help your creativity reach its full potential.

Griefwalker (Film Screening): Tuesday 20th August, 7pm
Tumblr media
Griefwalker is a National Film Board of Canada feature documentary film, directed by Tim Wilson. It is a lyrical, poetic portrait of Stephen Jenkinson’s work with dying people. Filmed over a twelve year period, Griefwalker shows Jenkinson in teaching sessions with doctors and nurses, in counselling sessions with dying people and their families, and in meditative and often frank exchanges with the film’s director while paddling a birch bark canoe about the origins and consequences of his ideas for how we live and die.

**Stephen is also running a workshop outside the school in September. You can read about that and sign up here.

I need to do some market research, but I don't know how: 19th August, 10:30-11:30am
Tumblr media
Experienced researcher Ian Scott will show you how to do a little bit of market research of your own.  He'll show you how to design a questionnaire, avoiding leading, confusing and meaningless questions and to consider who you might want to answer the questionnaire, as well as touching on how many respondents (completed surveys) you might need.   After collecting some data you Ian will help you with will then need to work out what it is saying, so Ian will help you work out what the information is saying, using basic statistical analysis. This will include averages, correlations, and a wee bit about probabilities (how likely is something to happen?).   Class requirements: pen, paper and calculator.   Ian has been a researcher for 20 years and has worked for organisations as diverse as MORI, Al Jazeera, Cancer Research UK, and Norwich Union.
If you’ve not been to The Wild School before, you can come and try this class for free
