Goose Groose
Day 37: Existential Crisis
Would you still love me if I was a goose?”
Link blinked. Zelda stared. A tear slowly slipped down Groose’s cheek as he waited for their answer.
“Um,” Link said, intelligently.
“What?” Zelda asked.
Groose huffed, sniffled, and wiped his eyes. “Would you still love me if I was a goose!”
Link stared. Zelda blinked. Ever so slowly, she reached over and took the blunt from his hands. “I think that’s enough for you.”
“I haven’t even had any yet!” Groose argued.
Zelda raised an eyebrow incredulously.
Link shook his head. “No, actually, I’ve been watching. He’s fully sober right now.”
“What the fuck,” Zelda said.
“Would you still love me if I was a goose?” Groose wailed.
“Yes, fucking—Yes we would still love you if you were a goose,” Zelda promised. She held onto her sanity by a thread.
Groose turned towards Link.
Link narrowed his eyes. “But why would you be a goose?”
Groose burst into tears.

Day 36: Beg For Mercy
Biting cold water nips at her skin
Even though her limbs are long since numb.
Great eyes of stone watch and judge.
Faltering is not an option. Her kingdom awaits.
Open hands shake, no longer folded in prayer.
Rather than focus on the knight’s gaze never
Moving from her back, she drowns in hymns.
Every other word fom her mouth wavers.
Rumors run rampant as ther Princess
Collapses in the freezing waters,
Yearning for the strength to be their salvation.
[Visual ID: the first letter of each line is capitalized and bolded. The lines are split up so that the first letters spell Beg For Mercy.]

Katsuya Terada’s art accompanied the strategy guides and Nintendo Power Articles about the first few Legend of Zelda games. In essence, his art created the world, and turned simple pixel sprites into fantasy worlds.
