emotions have never been the girl's strong suit. she's all tied up in a neat little box with them. it's why all of the anger, hate, and vitriol curls up tight in those diaries. but never really at their true intended audience. it was never jackie that made her world spin-off her axis, at least not in a bad way. thinking jackie was dead had set something ablaze inside of her and she had to do something when she realized she was alive. her hands are still gripping her shirt for dear life. part of her wants to lean in and keep kissing her. but her words make her realize that's a bad idea. jackie deserves better.

it happens so fast, jackie doesn't have time to fully register WHAT THE FUCK is going on. one minute she's half asleep cradling a sobbing shauna (who, apparently, doesn't hate her?) while trying to console her. the next, shauna's kissing her. not even a chaste, i'm glad you're alive kiss. (are those a thing? it feels like they are. jackie doesn't have the brain space to ruminate on that.) but something BRUISING and wild.

her mind might have stalled out, but her body knows how to respond: her head tilts, her eyes close, her lips part, && she's kissing back. every bit as frenzied, years of pent up emotions pouring out as she twists her fingers in long dark hair and TUGS her as close as possible.
