what gets me about any official art portraying mara as the emperor’s hand is that it never really captures how YOUNG she is. i want to see mara depicted as someone who’s barely an adult while palpatine manipulates and grooms her to be a killing machine. but so much of the comic and book cover art has her in a cat suit or some shit looking like she’s 30 years old. part of the tragedy of mara’s character is that she was 21 yo when palpatine died. 21. ik it’s different in star wars but you are BARELY an adult when you’re 21 (speaking as a 21 yo) and while mara is easily more mature than me and probably has more life experience lol, that was built up through becoming an assassin when she was what, 16? have you ever seen a 16 yo? they’re still kids. it’s a wonder she didn’t end up more fucked up.

You know every show that the premise is like “people find out ghosts/monsters/demons are real and are charged with stopping them” appeal to me way more now as a post-graduate not because I believe in ghosts more or whatever but because can you IMAGINE just being handed a job that you don’t even need to apply for? Like just being told “basically there’s this bad thing and all you do is make sure it doesn’t do what it wants” that’s just customer service baby and I worked that for 6 goddamn years! Just TRY getting past “I have a job to offer you” before I can jump down your throat agreeing.
