The aspect, play & lore is inspired by games like Metroid, Kingdom Hearts & those with the Souls/Borne feel. The creation process makes use of programs such as 3d Studio Max, Blender, Sub Painter, Z Brush and others as part of our workflow. The game engine we are using for production is Unreal Engine 5 "UE5". Project Orion update 08.19.2023:
The W.H.D team has some new sample test render images to share for "Project Orion". These are "block-out" test renders created in 3D Studio Max using the Arnold Render plugin. Project Orion October 2021 update
The video sample featured in this clip is from the previous combat system we were using called “A.A.R.P.G.” We have since migrated to a new system named Tempest Combat Framework “T.C.F” in 2022. However we honor our Affiliates & collaborations with associates. The video is a sample of some basic combat animations which also highlights the smooth quality of animations & movement.

Greetings from the Wicked Horizon Designs "W.H.D" team, we have an exciting new update to share. The W.H.D team in collaboration with our affiliates at WeAnimate have together achieved a milestone. We want to thank the fantastic people at WeAnimate for their time, professionalism and attention to detail. At the bottom of the update post, we will include links to all of the appropriate products, content and services that are contributing factors. We want to include a few shout outs to individuals involved. The WeAnimate staff: Januth, Shai & the VA who was involved in the process Mia. From start to finish we are very pleased to have built a great relationship with our friends at WeAnimate. The W.H.D teammates who took part in this collaboration: Joe F. VFX, Animation & Consultation, Sam S. Unreal Engine & AARPG integration with move-set testing, Noel A. Video Editing & compilation, R. Chao Music score creation, Jamie N. W.H.D logo Animation, business organizer and project owner.  The WeAnimate team was able to create a bone rig system for the Orion character mesh in Blender that was structured to orient perfectly with the bone hierarchy system native inside Unreal Engine for easy re-targeting. Afterwards Sam S. of the W.H.D team transitioned the native Unreal rig set up into the AARPG Combat System where we conducted extensive stress tests using a variety of unique melee combat animation packs such as seen in the demonstration video here.  We will be posting future video updates as the development of Project Orion continues to advance. The W.H.D team is very pleased to acknowledge all the hard work of individuals, businesses & content creators who in turn help us achieve our goals and promoting their brands along with our own. Project Orion
Here are some snapshots of very early preliminary work our team is creating for an action 3rd person jrpg hack & slash game. The style draws upon some various inspirations from cel-shade anime, cyberpunk, Tron, etc. The atmosphere and play style draws on inspiration from games like Bloodborne, Metroid, Kingdom Hearts. The 3D modeling of characters and environments is being created using 3D Studio Max & Blender and we are using Unreal Engine for execution. Right now we are testing various systems and H.U.D properties as well as a parkour system. Some accents inside of the shown environments come from purchased content in the Unreal marketplace. The Wicked Horizon team (us) are happy to support and promote the work of content creators who develop systems, assets and various other content that help indie developers create their games. Links to content made use of in these images can be purchased by anyone in the UE4 marketplace and will be provided below. Right now we are just getting started with this project and we will post updates when time allows. We will not go into details about the story or various surprises we have in-store at this point but we hope you enjoy a brief look behind the scenes at what we are working on.
