“nothing about love should be figurative. and even if this is business, my brand is made with love. think of all the women who look up to you, all who look like you are proud to see you there. that is love”, as she spoke the food was set in front of them and she was quick to pull her plate towards herself and far from vanessa. she hard learn that some of her vegan friends couldn’t stand the smell of meat so she was preventing it from affecting vanessa. she prepare to eat, stopping as she heard vanessa. “right on, right on girlfriend”, she snapped her fingers at nessa, actually impressed. most celebrities weren’t this aware of the work done behind scenes. riri finally took a bite and after chewing it a couple of time she rolled her eyes, in a dramatic show of appreciation.  “ohmyfuckinggodthisisamazing”, she giggled after making sure to just keep eating. through the next hour riri shared more details about her current work, beside small gossips she heard here and there, spending such a good time laughing next to vanessa. “ok, we should leave”, she said dropping her head next to the french fries plate now empty. “i can’t eat no more. take me homeeee”, she laughed. 

“You gonna make me blush!” Vanessa smiled, tilting her head in gratitude for the black woman words. Vanessa didn’t waste any time in grabbing her own vegan burger and taking a huge bite into it, not even playing it cool, she was that hungry. “It is that good ain’t it?” Vanessa was beaming at Rihanna’s face, pleased that her praising was justified. From there on they both fell into an easy conversation, some work chat and of course some gossip in between. In not time they were done with their food, and Vanessa ate so much that she couldn’t have another bite of anything, or she would blow up. “Me neither! It’s always the same whenever I come here!” She chuckled. With a quick look at their waiter she got their bill and was quick to pay for it, not even giving Rihanna the chance to complain or try to pay it herself, like she would guess she would try at least. “Alright, let me drive you back home Cinderella, before midnight so my car won’t turn into a pumpkin”

Laughing, Selena waved it off about the both compliment and saying she looked like she had something going on at the same time. “Well thank you beautiful.” She mused shaking her head but the smile never fading from her lips. Holding her glass up as well she gave a nod, “To us!” She cheers’d and took a sip from the tall glass, letting the wine trickle down her throat. “So.. about the so called drama I guess you could say that is going on in my life results in two things…or more people. Charles and Justin.”

With a huge smile Vanessa took the glass up to her lips taking a long sip into her wine, humming in satisfaction at the taste against her tongue, licking her lips and finishing with a pop sound, looking at her friend. “Charles and Justin?” She inquired, “That’s interesting... to say the least. I have to confess that I’m sort of in into the Charles thing, or at least up to the part where he fucked up by calling you by his ex name... I’m sorry” Vanessa confessed, realizing that she wasn’t sure Sel knew how close she got to the Asian boy after working with him on Bad Boys. “Now, Justin, I didn’t even know you were on speaking terms, let alone him being one of your dramas... yet again” She raised an eyebrow at the brunette, in curiosity, no judgement whatsoever.

"Oh please, I just thought you meant it like, figuratively, I don't know! But I'm honoured! I will forever cherish it!" Vanessa gushed over the ring, taking a moment to appreciate it as it sat on her manicured finger, a couple of other rings already dressing her hands. There wasn't such a think as too many rings in Vanessa's perspective. Of necklaces. Or jewelry in general. "Fair enough, have your people call my people, I'll be there!" She grinned, genuinely excited over the whole thing. "I do believe in this next generation, I really do. They seem more quick have the guts to be more out spoken, which might be already because of the paths that have been opened by those before them, meaning you, beyonce, etc" she pointed out her thoughts. "You really do! And it's fucking amazing!" Vanessa couldn't hold back, even as she caught the waiter coming back with their food. "Yes! I really think you gonna love the food as well" she gushed, defending her favorite burger place, even if she was going vegan burger for a while now.

“I feel like I made it in life!” Vanessa cheered, truly excited. “Records, let’s talk about it, because there’s someone out there still breaking record after record without even putting out new music! Congrats on that! But yes, the whole institution needs a good shake, this is the new age, better start to keep up.” She nodded at the end of her sentence, in agreement. “For real?!” Vanessa felt the need to check, her eyes going from the right on Rihanna’s hand to the black woman eyes back and forward, a grin growing in her face, “Oh my- this is better then being purposed to marriage, I swear!” She laughed, as she gave her manicured hand so Rihanna could put her ring on it. 

when the waiter was gone she had attention back to vanessa, nodding in a happy manner. “bitch of course. do you think i would offer the ring and not put on your hand? come on! i treat my ladies right”, winking at vanessa she then bowed her upper body on the table and pulled nessa’s  right hand to slide the ring it. “engament, in. when we get you in a studio, i can give you the real wedding shit”, nodding in a smile, she was glad to make her friend at least a bit happy over that gesture. “i’m counting on new generation to help with that - the shaking part. i’m 100% tired of dealing with this old white hetero dudes”, she was back on the grammy topic, bitting her bottom lip as she layed back on the chair. “oh, oh, please. i’m just glad i have put art that makes sense to people until this time. i have the most loyals fans ever, fo’real”, when she looked up, she noticed the waiter comming back with drinks for them. “daaark beer. this place is great”.

"Say no more!" Vanessa grinned at her friend, the feeling was mutual, she was delighted that they both finally made the time. "Alright boo, I'm here now, so please, unload it on me, I can feel you have a lot going just by looking at you, even if you still look absolutely gorgeous, it's in the eyes" Vanessa sort of cut to the chase, sending a look her way, knowing that it wouldn't be taken as pressure, simply an invite for her friend to let go of what might be troubling her, or what is going on with her lately, being it a problem or not. She took a glass for herself after Selena pour them, and didn't waste time on kissing the edge of of it for a first taste. "The afternoon is but a child..." she added, rephrasing the saying, as she gestured with a glass up in the air for a toast. "To us".

“I love you too, so good to finally see you again” Vanessa sort of repeated herself, but she meant it. It has been way too long, before following suit after Selena towards the kitchen Vanessa made sure to lose her shoes, following barefoot. “I’m good, better now that I’m here, with chances of improving as soon as I have that glass half full” She joked, knowing they were kind of the same when it comes to wine. “How about you? I can’t believe we managed this long without hanging out, shame on us” 

Vanessa ended up becoming one of Selena’s closest friends, even if they didn’t see each other all day every day she was still so close to her heart. “Good! And you could say that again, I’m better now that you’re here and I’ll be even better when I have a glass.” She laughed as she joked herself, setting the two glasses down and getting the bottle open to pour them half a glass each. “Overall I’ve been alive, been a real headache and mine spin honestly but I’m happy that we’re together again and it’s horrible that it took us this long.”

“good. welcome to the fenty team”, she clapped and held on the ring so she would give it to vanessa when she could actually do something with her hand other than drive. “heheh bey does it good. i mean, she goes to the awards, get the awards, break records, but won’t perfom. it’s a good way to rub on their faces that grammy needs them, not the other way around. she and jay have some guts, gonna tell you that”, she had ran over this conversation a few times before. being close to jay and running into beyoncé, they had being discussing how to stand in situations like this. “– and bacon”, riri finished her order, loving the face on the waiter, both amused by how much food she ordered and by the fact that she was indeed, rihanna. “ok, i believe this is yours”, rihanna pulled the golden ring back, asking for vanessa’s hand so she could put it on her. “as mama bay taught me, if i like, imma gonna put a ring on it”.

Zac put the jeep into reverse and backed out of the driveway. Once he was off the brunettes block he made his way to the highway, “At least I won’t look like a complete idiot trying to surf. I’m not the best at it.” The male couldn’t help but laugh at himself and how he had bad coordination. Zac smiled, “so it’s been years since we last hung out. I’m so happy I reached out to you and I’m so proud of how far your career has come.” The beach wasn’t that far from where the two lived but LA traffic was what was holding them up from fun in the sun.

“We will be idiots together, it will make it even more fun!” Vanessa laughed at the thought, she would go for it, skills or lack thereof. “It’s been too long, I’m glad you did!” She quickly agreed, looking towards Zac as he was focused on the road before them. “Thank you! I’m so proud of you as well! I absolutely loved your Down To Earth documentary! That was unexpected! So cool, made me want to be there every step of the way, you better invite me for the next one!” She pointed out, teasingly.

“I come bearing wine” Vanessa announced proudly raising a bag that held 3 bottles of her favorite wine, the second Selena’s door started to open, even before fully seeing her friend’s face. “I missed you so much!” She added, not being shy on walking in and going for a hug, a lingering one, because she really has been missing Selena, it was a long time coming and she wasn’t even sure why. “So good to see you!” She smiled, as she let go of her friend. @songbirdgomez​

“you will be invited anyways”, she rose a eyebrow at the other, teasing for the new. at the mention of the next thing, rihanna then looked down to her fingers, looking at her rings. choosing the one that looked more like a engagement ring. one from brazil, from a brand called vivara, a yellow gold citrine ring and diamonds. offering it to her, she nodded. “vanessa hudgens”, she laughed for not knowing her middle name. “-- would you represent fenty for the spring ad?”, smiling, she kept holding up the ring until she answered. “i’ll be there for the after party. harry, megan and beyoncé are probably winning since they are performing so i will have lots to celebrate alter”. looking around, riri nodded at the other for valuing down time, she herself had trouble of doing so. “oh well, i’m ready for it”, she announced, oppening the door and walking out of the car, closing the door after her. pulling her hair from behind her ear, she was happy to be in a new place so no paps were there yet and she wanted to enjoy it. 

“Oh my gosh!” Vanessa chuckled, surprised and amused with Rihanna’s way of make the offer official right there on the spot, “I would be honored to! Yes!” She shouted excitedly, a grin hard to get off her face. “It has been a good year for music I think, I am going to be there to celebrate them all, but mostly for the free drinks, not even gonna lie, The Grammy’s have been losing some of it’s shine along the years, I actually read Beyoncé won’t be performing, as a way to manifest, and I’m totally here for it. The weeknd was robbed, and they didn’t even tried to hide it”  Vanessa got into a small rant, not that she was all up into the music industry, but she does try to keep up, since singing is also one of her biggest passions. “They have the best vegan burgers I ever had, and all my friends tell me that the real deal are just as good, I do think it won’t disappoint!” Vanessa declared, as she talked their way into a table more in the back and out of sight, at least from outside, and in no time they were both ordering their picks from the menu.

You seem to have gotten even prettier since I last saw you.” The male blushed slightly, it had been a few years since he last saw the young woman in front of him and seeing her again filled him with many emotions. “I think we better head to the beach so can make most of the day and I want make sure we get a good spot. I packed some snacks, white claw, and water. The snacks are vegetarian since I know you don’t eat meat.”

The male started his jeep from the brunettes front door so the car could cool down before they got in it. Zac held his hand out to Vanessa, “ready to have the best day ever?” The dirty blonde male was looking forward to having a great day reconnecting with an old friend, “I have a frisbee and surf boards, wasn’t sure if you surf or not.”

“Why thank you” Vanessa smiled, sure her cheeks were turning a shade blushed, “You are much more handsome yourself, twice the size as well” She added, using the joke at the end to make it more light hearted. “I agree, it’s been a while since I’ve been to the beach, and you know how much I love it” She grinned, “That’s awesome! No need for me to bring anything but myself then! Thank you” She noted, as she followed suit after Zac into his jeep. “Yes I am!” She cheered happily, accepting his hand, as she took her place in the passage seat, feeling quite thankful for Zac and his sudden idea of a day out at the beach. “I’m not sure if it can be considered good surfing, but I do manage to stand up on a board, and I have the most fun trying!”

Vanessa loves to dress up, but it is a whole process, and it’s only human to sometimes get tired of it. She was relieved when as soon as she got inside her gown, everything was finally in place, and no more adjustments are needed. It was a weight lifted from her shoulders, and she was free to go about her day. Which lead her to Efron. Her ex from what feels like another life reached out recently, and after a couple of reminiscing conversation over text, he asked her for a hang out down at the beach. She wasn’t one to say no to a beach day, and she has been growing curious for the chance to be with Zac again, and see how they get along, after so many years, they were bond to be two different people from when they were together. 

Surprisingly she was fast on picking up an outfit, going for carefree and beach vibes through and through, grabbing on her favorite bikini was the only thing she over thought, few must haves thrown into her beach bag, she was ready to go the moment she heard someone at the door.
