Idk but today I feel very lonely and out of control and the things that I used to like doesn’t interest me so much anymore. And idk why I feel this way. I feel like times slips away and my life hasn’t lived up to my expectations. If you have my number feel free to call me...

I found myself reading a news article on a topic I am quite knowledgeable in and couldnt help but scoff at how poor the reporters knowledge of the topic was. I go on to read a different article I know nothing about and caught myself taking the article as completely true.

Hi! I was wondering about your opinion on a question: why do some people prefer to follow rather than lead? Thanks in advance.
Related answers:
ENTJ: Leadership
Short answer: It’s easier.
Long answer: Leading requires more time and energy than following. Most people think that leading is like sitting on a throne at the top of a mountain barking orders down at everyone below them. In reality, leading is like standing in the center of a busy intersection directing traffic while being bitched at by everyone around them.
The pains of leading include:
Managing everyone else’s responsibilities, not just yours
Receiving blame for failure(s)
Navigating criticism and resistance for every decision made
Re-training, disciplining, and/or removing low performers
Resolving conflicts between group members
Sacrificing free time for the team/organization/project
The pains of following include:
Putting up with the occassional douchey boss or coworker then complaining about it on social media
That’s why they call it the burden of leadership. I used to judge people harshly for not rising up to lead when they clearly had the skills, intelligence, charisma, and moral compass to do it well but now I finally understand why the price can be too steep. Done correctly, leading is one of the fastest and most direct ways to impact positive change but it’s not for everyone.
