So Ncuti Gatwa only got to have about 18 episodes of the show; didn't get to have a Dalek, Cybermen, or Master story, the big mainstays of the franchise; had to share his introduction with David Tennant, and now (despite how much I loved seeing her again) his exit too with Jodie Whittaker; and is now sandwiched between Tennant and Billie Piper.

Something doesn't sit right about all that to me.

The first queer Black man to play the Doctor, a generational once in a lifetime casting, representing Black fans especially queer Black fans across the diaspora to be written out like that for his favourite blonde from 2005 is one of the foulest things Russell T Davies has done.

The showrunner is David Tennant. You hear a knock on the door. It's David Tennant. He gives you a pocket watch. You open it and remember who you are. You were David Tennant all along.

More costume-y related things from Reality War i noticed, cuz i am a costume girlie at heart. Very likely will have some spoilers below

- loved Kate's horror that she was wearing tweed, and also Susan Triad's horror at wearing polyester, cuz honestly fair

- I wasn't a fan of Susan Triad in the cool grey suit, I think the tan from last season or even a warm grey would be nice, but that's just me

- absolutely loved the Doctor's costume change moment when he dropped the suit jacket on the stairs, loved to see that, especially because it was so similar in pattern but just more *him*

- 13's was the only costume I really had a huge issue with, only because she looked like an off-brand version of herself- like, I was convinced for a good moment that it wasn't even Jodie, I thought that they must've gotten someone else to play her. Idk, her hair was off, and her costume looked just a tad big, it all felt just slightly off to me

- counting this one cuz it was technically a moment that focused on a costume piece, Poppy's jacket killed me, when they kept passing it back and forth and folding it over and over and over again until it was a fabric scrap and then just disappeared

Thoughts and feelings and rants and maybe theories about Reality War below, will be VERY spoiler-y

Ok so, prolly won't be in any particular order because it's all a jumble in my brain. I feel like we lost the plot real fast. The first part of the episode i can genuinely say i enjoyed, up until we saw Omega. And like wtf, spent the whole storyline making up Omega to be some insane, powerful god, and then he's defeated in LITERALLY TWO MINUTES. And that's it, and then we spend OVER HALF THE EPISODE bringing back Poppy. And don't even get me started on that, it feels just so icky to have Belinda, this strong independent woman, have motherhood forced on her and then that becomes her whole thing. And like, the relationship between her and the Doctor just felt icky because again it was a forced situation to begin with. And then when Poppy disappeared and Ruby was trying to tell the Doctor, wtf was going on with him? His best friend was DISTRESSED and FRANTIC, and he didn't care until she spelled it out for him? That doesn't sound like the Doctor at ALL. Overall, this episode felt like The Flux all over again, with plot point after plot point after plot point introduced and not nearly enough time to address everything properly.

As for the regeneration, I am genuinely fascinated. I do genuinely love the idea of Billie Piper as the Doctor, I think she'd be such a fun Doctor, but not yet. I think we need at least one more season for Ncuti, because he doesn't feel finished, he barely even feels started as the Doctor. Plus, what are we supposed to do with Rogue and Susan? Cuz the only options there are drop it entirely, or have a drastically different dynamic. I don't think we *can* have anything with Rogue without 15, anything else would just feel wrong, and I dunno, I was really excited to see Susan and 15 reunite, again it'll just feel wrong if it's any other doctor.

Tbh, there is not a bit of me that believes that this is the last time we see 15. Someone else online pointed out that in the credits it just says "introducing Billie Piper", no "as the doctor" like every other actor to play the doctor since the reboot. That, plus the glass shattering effect right before he woke up in Belinda's garden, I feel like we're gonna get a special (or maybe a few) with Billie and then things are gonna fix themselves.
