Can we use multiple prompts for one fic?

I apologise if this has been asked before but I needed to know.

Are you asking if you can combine prompts from two different days into one? You can, but I wouldn’t count the combination as filling both days. The hope is to have thirty works for thirty days so if you combine two days, say Day 6 + Day 20, into one, you could use an alt prompt on Day 20 to fill it in. Unless being a completionist isn't your goal, in which case it wouldn't matter

I plan to write oneshots for most of the prompts but. Would it be allowed to write a multichapter fic where each chapter fills a different prompt (so I would fill 3 or so days with one fic)? Or is it one prompt per fic only?

A multichapter fic with each chapter filling a different prompt is okay, yes! What I don't prefer is when someone throws like five different days' prompts into one day's single-chapter work and saying that one shot counted for all five days (but if that's what someone decides to do it's not like I can stop them either so 🤷‍♀️) But yes, what you described is fine

Yes, there will be! It'll open on the first day of April.

Will there be Whumpril 2025?

I did all of Whumpril 2024 but I put them all only into AO3 and into one document. I'm just willing to see if I'll be able to do this year too when the time comes. =)

-30- "We're Out of Time"

"I was thinking we could go see a film tonight, you up for it?" Adam stepped into shorts, pulled on a t-shirt as he spoke across the flat to Harry, who he'd left reading on the sofa. Grabbing his damp bath towel off the end of the bed, he scrubbed dripping water off the tips of his hair as he went, depositing it in the bath on his way back to the sitting room. "Or stay in, I don't mind. Been a long time since I saw a movie in a cinema, though."

"Dunno," Harry replied, "Not feeling myself." A distant, low alarm clanged in the far back corner of Adam's mind, but he refused to let it panic him. Harry sat on the sofa rubbing his hands down his cheeks and neck. Adam pressed his palm to Harry's forehead.

"You're cold," he said. "You look a bit grey."

"Don't think I want to go out," Harry said, and the panicky feeling Adam had been repressing flared in his gut. He sat on the edge of the coffee table with his knees on either side of Harry's. "Don't think I can get up," Harry said plaintively.

"Course you can," Adam argued instantly. "Of course you can get up." He took Harry's hands and found them clammy, almost waxy. Harry shook his head. "No," Adam countered. "You can."

"Adam."

"No."

"Adam."

"Come on, get up." Adam tugged at his hands, started to rise but found his knees too weak to hold him and sat again. The klaxon-blare of the alarm in the back of his head threatened to deafen him from the inside. "Harry. Please."

"Listen," Harry said, and looked him hard in the eyes. "There's things I want to say."

Adam shook his head. He blinked a shattered-crystal blur out of his eyes. A soft moan escaped from behind his bitten-together lips.

"It's all right," Harry assured him, and shifted their hands so he was holding Adam's between his own. "We always knew things might change. Nothing lasts."

"Stop. Please, Harry. I can't--"

"You're the best thing that ever, ever happened to me. I don't regret a minute."

"But I'm fine," Adam protested. "I feel fine! Why is this--" he sobbed, held Harry's too-cool hands so tight his own fingers hurt. "Not now. Not yet."

"You'll be all right."

"I won't."

"I know you will. You won't think so, but I promise, Adam, you'll be all right." Harry's gaze softened, and he closed his eyes and kissed Adam's fingers and the palm of his hand. He slid his hand behind Adam's neck and pulled him in, kissed him deep. Adam broke away on a shuddering sob. He felt hot tears streaking down his cheeks, tasted salt on his upper lip.

"Harry, don't do this. Don't give up," he pleaded, and Harry's hands slackened as Adam held them.

Harry's lovely sad smile and shiny, damp eyes, and a soft shake of his head. "It's OK."

"No. Never."

"You're so strong."

Adam crushed Harry's limp hands, massaged frantically, trying to wake them up.

"I don't wanna go," Harry murmured, slurring. "It's just--"

"No. Harry. Not yet."

"We're out of time."
