I have to share it here. Last week my bestie caught me off guard when I was editing some anime whump gifs. So after making up some weird excuses when she asked me why I can't show her what I'm editing, I started to say how I like angsty things or the aesthetic of beat up and bloodied guys. And she was like:

"Sooo like whump?"

"how do you know what that is"

"I'm on the internet, I know eveything"

So I just opened Tumblr and showed her my blog and the entire time I was like "omg what is she gonna think this is so weird" and at the same time I felt super happy I could finally share this with her.

She took my computer and scrolled a bit and she was genuinely impressed that I had a blog with edits and drawings and how much time it probably took me.

She also scolded me why i didn't show her this before and tbh I didn't intentionally hid that, just never showed it to anyone I guess 🤷‍♀️

So moral of the story : never doubt your bff, if they are a real one, they're never gonna judge you

A trope I love is when it's Whumpee's first mission and it goes terribly wrong, despite Leader sending Whumpee on that mission because it was supposed to be easy and safe.

Bonus point when Whumpee completely freaks out when he's injured. All this training prepared him to fight and be stealthy, but none of it prepared him to face any kind of excruciating pain.

The challenge begins in August!

Rules:

All gifs posted must be made by you. Do not just post gifs using the gif keyboard and claim them as yours and do not repost other people’s gifs. No AI-generated content please.

Various mediums are welcome! So long as the visual art aspect is the focus you can make whatever you want. Yes this is primarily a gifmaking challenge so everything is geared towards that but any visual art is welcome. If you draw, make moodboards, edits, videos, etc you’re welcome to participate!

You can use the prompts however you like. There is no wrong way to use a prompt. Feel free to interpret them however you wish. If you think it counts as whump? It's whump! Make it! Angst, comfort, emotional whump, small things, big things, it all counts so no need to over think it.

Tag all potential triggers (things like emeto, gore, nsfw, blood, eye whump, rape/noncon, etc.) When in doubt, tag it.
