This is called the Pigpen Cipher, also known as a masonic cipher. For any of you Broom Closeted witches who have a physical book of shadows (or want one), this is a great and fairly simple way to encode some or all of your Book of Shadows/Grimoire.

I created this talisman necklace and consecrated it last night before my flight this morning. I've never had a smoother flight! Take off and landing went wonderfully. I picked up this shell on a previous trip so it is full of traveling energy.

Butterflies
Tumblr media
More animal symbolism wooooo! This was requested and I’m so sorry it took so long!
🦋In many cultures butterflies are associated with the soul and may be a sign a deceased loved one wants to contact you
🦋They are associated with the element of air, representing the mind and mental state
🦋The cycle of the butterfly’s life may represent new beginnings or emerging as a stronger person
🦋They are often associated with joy, happiness, optimism and enjoying the little things in life
🦋I associate butterflies with fairies or pixies, especially pay attention if they come out of no where
Symbolism by Colour:
Red-new love and romance, anger, some cultures associate it with evil
Yellow/Orange- sign of hope and happiness to come, new life, irish folklore says they are the souls of the departed
Green-prosperity, joy, luck, change and growth.
Blue-finding purpose in your life, wishes coming true and acceptance.
Purple-colour associated with royalty and nobility, spiritual awakening or spirituality, psychic energies and time to reflect.
White-seen as an omen of death in many cultures but can also be seen as angels.

DIY Animal Ally Stones & Animal Magic
Something I’ve been reading about and have been very interested about is animals in witchcraft and how they may assist us.
Tumblr media
Healing: bear and snake; specifically for grieving– butterfly, raven/crow, snake, and wolf
Luck: bat, cat, elephant, horse, ladybug, hare, frog/toad, and rabbit
Money: cat, dragon, frog, rabbit, spider, bee, and rat
Beauty: butterfly, peacock, and snake
Love: cat, dove, horse, hummingbird, and rabbit
This is just a small list of examples! To use their magical properties, there’s different ways. If you focus on animals that are supposed to bring you luck, it’s possible their luck will spread to you. You could also place pictures of animals that help with beauty near where you get ready.
Tumblr media
Frogs & Toads
Frogs and toads are considered lucky to have around but if one is found dead where you live, some people believe that they are giving you news that you’ll lose a friend, in some way.
Bees
If a bee flies into your hand, some people believe you’ll receive money. If that bee doesn’t quite like your vibe, you get stung.
Ladybugs
It is said that if a ladybug lands on you, many blessings will come. Hold it your cupped hand for a few seconds and tell it your secrets. Then make a wish and let it go.
Spiders
If a tiny spider lands on you, circle it three times over your head and let it drop into your hair. Let it find it’s way out. This is said to help with your finances and send you money.
Snakes
These are all interesting ways but my personal favorite is a snake healing dream incubation spell which led me to create these stones. It’s a ritual where you use an image of a snake, a picture, carving, or etc. The image should be small enough to be comfortable under a pillow. Right before you go to sleep, tell the snake what you need to know and ask for information. Place the snake under your pillow and go to sleep. It’s possible you’ll receive your answer through a dream or random inspiration while you’re awake.

Just a friendly reminder that butterflies are fucking stunning and we can learn a lot from them. I spend two hours straight walking around a butterfly conservatory near me meditating and thanking the butterflies for allowing me to be close to them (and shoving my camera up their asses) i took in so much relaxing and peaceful energy from this place.

moon phases.
Tumblr media
new moon: setting intentions. active energy.
waxing crescent moon: resting, focusing. passive energy.
first quarter moon: taking action. active energy.
waxing gibbous moon: trusting, holding faith. passive energy.
full moon: acknowledging. active energy.
waning gibbous moon/disseminating moon:  receiving, expressing gratitude. passive energy.
last quarter moon: returning, giving thanks. active energy.
waning crescent moon/balsamic moon: reflecting, resting, restoring. passive energy.
new moon: the moon is literally new. a rebirth. use this moon for intentions to do with fresh beginnings, starting again, cleansing.
waxing moons: the moon is increasing its size, it is opening; use these moons for intentions about gaining, growing or expanding.
full moon: the moon is at full charge, and can be the most powerful phase in the moon cycle. use this moon for intentions to do with power, clarity, or psychic ability.
waning moons: the moon is decreasing its size, it is closing; use these moons for intentions about ridding yourself of something (or someone), or purging.
application to the craft:
focus is the most important aspect of bringing an intent to manifest itself. focusing your energy can be made simpler by working with a compatible energy in the world as you focus that intent.
if the world around you is releasing an energy complementary to yours, it can be easier for that energy to find its way into reality; as opposed to facing any natural adversity.
cast passive energy intents in passive phases of the moon. (tranquility, creativity)
cast active energy intents in active phases of the moon. (strength, control)
this, in my opinion, is the concept of “the power of thought.” when more than one person thinks a thought, that thought holds more weight. this could explain why people practicing or praying together can often yield stronger, or more immediate results. it is a similar reasoning as incorporating tools and ritual into magick, as well.
your energy is a power in itself. but using the power of the elements, the environments, and the world can serve to add to that power.
