Eventually-the man in the trench coat had finally come out from the back of the center-patched up pretty well, though-currently being reminded in an almost comically scolding tone from the local nurse joy NOT to do anything too ‘exciting’ for awhile or he’d aggravate the injury. “okay, okay Doll-I gotcha, I won’t do anything stupid-no need to hammer it in-!” He chuckled a bit-it sounded warm, friendly-…at least he was settling in.

“I keep tellin’ ya, I’m fine.” He clearly was not fine at all. “It’s just a scratch.” SIR THAT’S CLEARLY MORE THAN A SCRATCH.

It takes a bit-but finally, Calem walks through the door with the man behind him. He-seems to have refused to take off his tattered and bloody trenchcoat despite this.

while Calem rushes over-the man looks around-he…doesn’t seem used to this at all or-even seem to know what a Pokémon center IS. But he CAN tell people are staring, and it definitely doesn’t feel great.

We’re on our way now-Apparently his name is Boris Shuster-a fellow detective! Hopefully this can be resolved amicably-I don’t think he knows quite how he got here either.

[There’s a quick shuffling As the phone is quickly lifted to point at the man on Calem’s couch-Who is now fully awake.]

“How long have you been awake, Monsieur-?”

“…What in the sam hell is That…?”

[The man is-pointing at Calem’s phone.] “...This is a rotom Phone, Sir-Now please, answer my question-?”

[The man attempts to sit up-hissing slightly in pain.] “About-..ten minutes? ..Playin’ possum has its perks when you’re Tryna gather information. …Thanks for not takin’ my journal, kid.”

“Ah…Clever man. …I wouldn’t think to reach for your firearm again, I’ve-hidden it somewhere in the office. Safety precautions, of course-I hope you understand.”

“…I’m sorry about the shit back in the cave-“ [The man speaks after an awkward silence.] “I’d-…just gotten outta dodge and I couldn’t tell who was an enemy or not-…Is the kid okay-? I didn’t scare her too much did I-?”

“Mistral-? She is a brave defender of justice, I doubt she startles easily. Now-I am curious as to where you ‘got out of dodge’ from-“

“That’s a Little above your paygrade, kid-I doubt you’d believe me if I told you.”

[Calem huffs in amusement.] “Monsieur, I am not a fool. Je m'appelle Calem Xavier, I work as a private detective-I’ve seen many things that one wouldn’t believe.”

“…Boris Shuster, private eye-and trust me kid, you have NO idea. …But thanks for takin’ care of me. Now look-I just gotta get my bearings and I’ll be outta your hair-“ [he attempts to sit up again-managing to stand but hissing in pain and clutching his injured arm.] “Shhhhiiiit-..You got this, Shuster-one step at a time-“

“Monsieur-I would advise you come with me to the Pokemon center-we’ll get you the help you need with your injuries.”

“…The-Whatnow…? And I’m FINE, kid I-shit, ow-…!”

[A moment of silence-presumably Calem sending a deadpan look towards the man, who sighs.]

“…Fine. I’ll follow your lead kid, you seem to know the place better than me.”
