MOVING THIS BLOG
Anyone who follows this blog, I’m moving it over to another account. Why? Well, I want to make it a primary blog and keep it separate from my personal blog (so it’s immediately apparent what its deal is when I follow other Simblrs, for example).
I’m not entirely sure how to link you over to it since I changed this blog’s address to whimsyverseproject and made that one whimsyverse, but I’d appreciate if you tracked me down and gave me a follow over there as well. I’ll be getting back to work with posting the remainders of my families shortly. In addition, I’m working on learning my modding (or finding someone to collaborate with) to make a series of traits, careers, and aspirations to flesh some of the characters out more.

The Van der Maars
Exeon Van der Maar is a well-known philanthropist and charity director that offers his services to charitable organizations across the world, working closely with them to ensure that they are able to best help the most people. He is kind and gentle and well-known as a charitable and giving individual.
He’s also an alien.
Exeon crashlanded on Earth many years and, for some time, lived among humans as a human. He “came out” eventually, however, hoping to prove that not only was there intelligent life in the Universe, but it was also not something that necessarily merited fear. His reveal was met with mixed results, but political support was strong, and Exeon was given rights and protections as a citizen of Earth. His charitable work has done much to overcome the prejudice leveled against him, but there are still those who would wish him harm or, worse yet, attempt to manipulate him to their own ends.
Things were made more...complicated when his son and daughter in law crashlanded on Earth. Refuges like Exeon, they were mortally wounded by the crash and passed away shortly thereafter...leaving Exeon to take care of their daughter, his granddaughter, Ultari.
Now, Ultari struggles to find her place on Earth, which is made all the more difficult by the trauma of losing her parents...and the looming threat of whatever it was that they were running from...

Ultari and Exeon were both draenei shaman in World of Warcraft.
Exeon only made it to the level cap as he was an RP character only.
Exeon was strongly based on Uncle Iroh from Avatar, an extremely wise and competent retired soldier that acted goofy to hide his competency.
Ultari was a mute, traumatized by her family’s death (similar to her Whimsyverse incarnation)
I switched between Ultari and Lumia as my raiding characters and both were somewhat geared up for raiding.
While Lumia, Ultari, and Exeon were all draenei, I decided to make only Ultari and Exeon aliens in the Whimsyverse. Lumia seemed more down-to-Earth while it would have been awkward to transpose the Van der Maar story to the Whimsyverse without them being aliens.

On the outskirts of Whimsy Oasis lies the Proud-Hoof Ranch, owned for generations by the Proud Family, the current matron of which is Ashea Proud. Ashea grew up living on the land, but she’d always had a passion for learning and science. Over time, she gave up much of the family’s ranch land and agricultural trade, deciding to turn the property over to science, which she now practices with exuberance. Ashea is a brash but well-meaning, matronly woman who is stern but fair with those who live under her house, which includes her wayward sister, Lumia, and Lumia’s husband, Varley.
Like Ashea, Lumia Brown chafed under her agricultural upbringing, but she didn’t have the strength of character that her sister had, and eventually ran away as a young woman. She endured a difficult life attempting to eke out whatever living she could and, while brilliant, she had a difficult time finding an outlet for her wits and intelligence. Eventually, she met Varley Brown, a struggling author, actor, fisherman, chef, and “””””legitimate businessman”””” who was also struggling just to get by. The two complemented each other perfectly, with Varley helping Lumia overcome severe depression and emotional imbalance so she could finish her education and find direction in life, while Lumia kept the flighty Varley grounded and focused on his work. Eventually, Varley convinced Lumia to return home, where she was welcomed sternly...but with open arms. She now works with Ashea, developing ground breaking (and some might say slightly mad) science. Lumia returned with a baby boy, Varley Junior, on her hip...and a little girl, Illuvia, in her belly. She named the latter for a Proud Family ancestor, one of the first women to run the ranch alone.
Ashea had formed a bit of a family as well during Lumia’s absence. The Proud Family Farm maintained cordial relationships with nearby native tribes, and Ashea continued that tradition, though she began trading agricultural supplements and useful machinery rather than produce. During her youth, she had a dalliance with a young tribal man she refuses to speak of, and gave birth to her daughter, Malaika, a serious and devoted girl who tends to what is left of the Proud Farm, letting her mother focus on her work.
After her disastrous relationship with the tribal man, Ashea met and courted Chelody Smallwing, a native girl with a flighty attention span and big dreams about how to save the world. The two eventually married and Chelody began a charity called the Order of the Rose. She remains the Director of the charity to this day, but doesn’t make a dime off of it, with Ashea’s blessing. The couple subsides on money made from Ashea and Lumia’s inventions and the small amount of profit made from the continued operation of the Proud Family Ranch. The Order of the Rose collects donations in order to distribute money, food, and clothing to the needy, particularly those who are displaced by war, violence, or abuse.
Recently, Ashea and Chelody adopted Lokandra, a troubled youth that they discovered during Chelody’s work with the Order of the Rose, bbound for prison, or worse. While they may have spared her that fate, Lokandra’s boiling rage remains a problem. She was recently courted by the “No Future” gang, and currently runs with them, though she has taken an appreciation of the leader, Allen’s message of positive change rather than Cross’ obsession with chaos and violence...

Ashea Proudhoof was a tauren hunter
She was my first character to 60 (back when that was the level cap in vanilla)
Her pet was Mazzranache, the pink plainstrider in Mulgore.
They did not seem to get along very well, but they were really good friends
Ashea was nearly blind from an accident as a child. She invented a pair of goggles that corrected her vision.
She wore those goggles constantly in a time before vanity gear, meaning she was at a disadvantage gear-wise.
Malaika was Lumia’s daughter, a tauren warrior
She didn’t have much of a personality, she was just sort of a quiet Proudhoof enforcer.
Lumia was a draenei. She was originally a paladin but became a hunter eventually.
She studied survival techniques with Ashea when she became a hunter, eventually even adopting Mazzranache after Ashea retired.
Ashea and Lumia were similar characters, both brash inventor/science types. Lumia evolved into more of a general scientist and her personality took a major shift into being more fragile and awkward after the cataclysm.
Varley was Lumia’s boyfriend, a human rogue who was more of an inept conman / “”””””””legitimate businessman “””””””” turned straight than an actual thief.
Varley was a complete goofball, well known in RPing circles for his charming, silly demeanor and amazingly horrible puns.
He was almost always top DPS in whatever raid he was in.
He was an accomplished chef and fisherman, and also an “accomplished” writer who churned out cheesy romance novels.
He fancied himself a hero and loved drama and acting.
He believed that all mages were inherently dastardly.
While they married in the Whimsyverse, Lumia and Varley never became officially married during their RP career.
They did eventually settle down on a farm outside of Goldshire.
They had two children, Varley Junior and Illuvia (who was named after Lumia’s deceased sister)
VJ would grow up to become a wizard, studying with Varley’s sister, despite Varley’s inherent distrust of mages.
Illuvia would eventually grow up to study shamanism with Ultari, another WoW character (see her entry later).
Lokandra was an orc rogue that was taken in by Ashea.
She was extremely subservient, raised as a slave and assassin by a rogue band of mercenaries.
After Garrosh took over the horde, she became highly nationalistic, believing orcs were inherently superior to the rest of the horde (and, of course, the alliance, whom she hated with more passion than she felt for anything)
She would eventually come to odds with Ashea and kill her, though she hadn’t intended to do so.
The guilt of the act haunted her for the rest of her life.
Chelody was another friend’s character, and a very popular character on the Feathermoon. She was (and still is, I suppose!) a night elf druid that ran the Order of the Rose for many years.
None of my characters ever romanced Chelody, to my great, great disappointment :-P
She was a silly creature, basically a dream spirit that inhabited a fallen night elf warrior. So while she looked like a fully-grown kaldorei, she was really only a few years old.
Whimsyverse’s Chelody runs a charity called Order of the Rose (named after the WoW Guild) that distributes money, food, and clothing to the needy, particularly those who are displaced by war or violence. She does not make any money off of her work with the charity.

Collin Friese is the epitome of selfishness. While not a terrible guy who would cause harm simply for the sake of causing harm (it’s amazing how much more convenient it is to not screw people over than to go out of your way to do so!), he rarely does anything that doesn’t benefit him, a trait that has done a lot to get him ahead - both in business and in life. Still, he has been known to lend a helping hand if he thinks it will earn him favor with someone who may, down the line, help him out.

The Prophets (Metal and Plant)
Daniel Steele and Hannah Flowers ran with Tia Stone’s younger crowd, though Daniel was also good friends with Geoffrey, Tia’s older brother, whom he spent a lot of time meditating and practicing yoga with. Slightly less stoic than Geoffrey (but not by much), Daniel grew up to become a brilliant materials engineer, using his knowledge of metallurgy to work on new metal polymers. Hannah, meanwhile, a quiet, shy girl who had few friends outside of their circle - and some would say she wasn’t particularly close with any besides Daniel, with whom she fell in love but still took many, many years for either of them to admit it - studied botany and joined a lab renowned for their work on flower hybrids.

During the Prophets reboot, there was a second group of prophets that was being manipulated by a villain to fight the original team. These prophets were based on secondary elements: metal, plant, electricity and ice.
While several of them were more morally ambiguous than the original prophets, they weren’t strictly evil.
Daniel was the leader of these prophets
In the Whimsyverse, these secondary Prophets are younger, and friends with Tia and Michael.
Daniel and Hannah didn’t actually have a relationship going, I just liked the idea of them being together in the Whimsyverse.
Also, the joke of Steel Magnolias just sort of popped into my head and I couldn’t resist.

The Prophets (Air)
Michael Storm made a name for himself as a skilled artist at an early age. He carried and honed this skill into his adulthood. While he is fully capable of producing gorgeous traditional art and has had several exhibits dedicated to his work that the artistic community has received with great enthusiasm, Michael’s most well-known work - and the work he most enjoys - comes in the realm of comics and video games. A colossal geek, Michael was far more excited to accept jobs with his favorite video game company than when he announced his first traditional art exhibit. Still, his work is well-received in all mediums, making Michael a popular guy.

His Prophet name was “Talon,” based on my friend’s screen name at the time, and he had a bird motif.
Talon had a very small part in the overall prophets canon, which I regret. He was mostly just the comic relief, laid back and funny, but without much of a character arc.

The Prophets (Earth and Water)
Geoffrey Stone and Lillian Shores fell in love at a young age despite their vast differences - Geoffrey being stoic and reserved and Lillian being energetic but uncertain - and carved out a life for themselves after leaving the Seven Prophets Orphanage, Geoffrey as the owner of a successful architectural firm and Lillian as a lobbyist for an environmental protection group.
The couple had three children: Terra and the twins, Bracken and Brook.

Geoffrey was one of my more nuanced characters in my younger years, a huge, physically imposing man who nonetheless shunned violence and chose instead to meditate and find inner peace.
Tia played a small role in the original Prophets storyline, but took over as the new Prophet of Earth later.
Michael was actually not related to Lillian. He was a different Prophet of Water in an attempted reboot of the headcanon. But I figured the easiest way to work him into the Whimsyverse was as Lillian’s younger brother.
Similarly, Terra was the rebooted Prophet of Earth with no connection to Geoffrey, so I made her his daughter in the Whimsyverse.
Terra had no family. She was a runaway that lived on the road, hence her survivalist aspiration (I don’t think she’s planning to run away from home).
Bracken and Brook didn’t exist originally. I just figured the two could have more than one kid.
Yes, I left the hyphenated name largely because “Stone-Shores” made me giggle. I’m not proud.

The Prophets (Light and Darkness)
Alexander Brighton and Vincent Night are one of San Whimsy’s power couples. Alexander is the distinguished Police Chief of San Whimsy. Called the Paladin of San Whimsy, Alexander championed a number of successful social policies that combated crime by helping the underpriveledged rather than targeting them. This earned him a bit of a soft reputation amongst those who would like to see harsher treatment of criminals, but it’s difficult to argue with the successes he has shown.
Meanwhile, Vincent runs the city’s municipal library system, overseeing dozens of facilities, as well as overseeing acquisitions and coordination with similar cultural facilities like museums and schools. He is one of the most well-read Sims in the Whimsyverse with a wide breadth of knowledge and the capacity to easily find anything he doesn’t actually know.

Vincent was not actually black in the original canon, but I have made an attempt to add some racial diversity to my older characters.
That being said, I do apologize for the “Prophet of Darkness” being black. I didn’t exactly think that through >_>
That being said, I really liked the version of the character I created, so the headcanon is kinda stuck now.
Alexander originally fell in love with and married the Prophet of Soul, Aurelia Hannah. Unfortunately, as explained in a previous post, she exists in a different incarnation now.
Inspiration struck, however, and as Vincent didn’t originally have a girlfriend/wife and I always really liked Alex and Vincent’s close friendship, their relationship just sort of...evolved in my head.
Alexander was the defacto leader of the Prophets, but Jason (who was the most powerful prophet in terms of sheer combat power) constantly challenged his authority. The two became rivals and, over time, friends...but not good ones really.

The Prophets (Intro)
As I mentioned in the Seven Prophets Orphanage entry, several of my characters come from what I call the Prophets canon. Each character was chosen to be a prophet of a certain element - earth, fire, wind, water, light, darkness, and “soul.” It had more in common with Ronin Warriors than Captain Planet, but it was still quite derivative as the characters transformed into battle forms to fight.
In any case, the characters have been implemented into the Whimsyverse largely as older and more successful Sims, since they don’t really have more modern incarnations. Since they’re all over 20 years old (that is, I created them 20 years ago), I figured they earned some seniority.
Sorry Keji.
In the Whimsyverse canon, they all grew up as orphans in the Seven Prophets Orphanage (only Jason was an orphan originally) and became friends throughout their childhood. They grew up to be quite prominent and successful in their own fields.
As a side note, you’ll notice there is no Soul Prophet amongst them...that’s because the character was the original Aurelia Hannah, but I reused the name for the more modern Sailor V character in my Sailor Moon RP, and I didn’t want two characters with the same name.

Expediting (a brief interlude update)
So I think I’m going to try and expedite the rest of the posts on this blog. What I mean by that is, I’m going to be a bit more brief in my descriptions so that I can finish this little project a bit faster. I’ve been working on it for far longer than I’d intended and I’d…kinda like to actually play the Sims 4 at some point :-P
I’ll still post the remainder of my families (along with a few that I’ve thought to create since I started phase two), but I might not go into quite as much detail about the characters as I have been, giving brief descriptions but not worrying about being super descriptive or in-depth. To be perfectly honest, a lot of the characters from here on out are older or less defined from their origins, meaning I won’t have as much to say about them anyways as much of their original selves would have been lost to time (or might not have been as well developed to begin with). A lot of them have taken on small personalities of their own, but they are, for the most part, secondary characters, extras in the Whimsyverse.
I welcome any and all questions and curiosities about my characters. I love talking about them; I just have to finish this project so I can actually play the game at this point. So if you see a character that seems interesting, by all means, ask me more about them.
I might go back and flesh out the entries at some point, but for now I’m going to try and breeze through the rest of my OCs. I’ll be even more brief about the characters from other media/canons, since you can basically just Google the characters themselves. I might write some brief thoughts about how I see them “fitting in” to the Whimsyverse, but other than that I won’t go into describing pre-established characters that much.

Orphanage(s)
For this post, I’ll put two households back to back. Both of them are orphanages; in short: I found large lots labeled as “orphanages” in the gallery and filled them with, mostly, child characters that have no families (or that I had no interest in creating their families). The orphanages are run by two individuals: Katrina “Kit” Tamison and Jason Burns. The Tamison Orphanage (owned by Katrina, who converted her family’s mansion into an orphanage) uses a modified version of the “Country Orphanage” by Snuffsickles in the community gallery and is placed in Willow Creek (Whimsy Creek). Jason Burns is the current, acting Director of the Seven Prophets Orphanage in Whimsy Oasis (Oasis Springs), a modified version of the Oasis Springs Orphanage by QuanishaJenkins (also in the community gallery).
I am not sure how to link to the gallery here, but the lots should be findable by searching in-game.
Tamison Orphanage
Katrina Tamison grew up in an abusive home and, as a result, had a troubled childhood full of missteps and mistakes. However, as she got older, she was, at first cursed, and then bless, with a son. Young Pheonic served as something of a wake-up call for Kit, who immediately turned to her studies. To quote Steven King, she “found brains she never knew she had” and quickly finished her squandered high school career and even entered into a college program that led to her getting into child psychology. Her own experiences encouraged her to try and find a way to help youths overcome the same hardships she herself had to endure.
Fortunately, Kit was also able to negotiate the return of her inheritance, which she had originally been robbed of by a spiteful and horrible father...an inheritance that included a beautiful estate in Whimsy Springs, which she converted into an orphanage.
Katrina spends her time overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tamison Orphanage, as well as operating a successful child psychology practice within its walls.

In Kit’s original incarnation, she was transported to a fantasy world in which everyone had an animal familiar that was basically half of their soul.
Hers was a dragon
She eventually returned home, but was forced to leave her husband and newborn child behind.
She returned to the fantasy world for a second arc, reuniting with her family.
All of the child characters in the Tamison Orphanage (with the exception of Pheonic) are based on kenders that I played or otherwise created in D&D
The setting was not Dragonlance, but the kender were transported to the homebrew campaign setting from Krynn via shenanigans
Lewin is one of my oldest characters and one of the very first D&D characters I ever created
Cliffy was Lewin’s NPC brother
Sage was Lewin’s right-hand kender after Lewin became a high-ranking official in the kender’s hometown
Lewyn came along many generations later, and was named after Lewin, who was a folk hero among kenders at that point.
Melody is based on two characters, Melody and Lark. Both were musicians.
Ian has evolved a lot since his inception as a mutant with crystalline powers in an X-Men setting.
I still haven’t nailed down who he is exactly, but I enjoy the character too much to ignore.
The Seven Prophets Orphanage
Like Katrina, Jason Burns had a troubled childhood. He was abandoned on the doorstep of the Whimsy Oasis orphanage and spent most of a rebellious youth trying to be anywhere else. However, he made good friends at the orphanage, friends who helped to temper his impetuousness and forge him into a brave, righteous champion for the less fortunate. While the rest of his friends went on to experience great career success, Jason lagged behind...until he found his calling, ironically, returning to the very orphanage that he spent so many years trying to escape. Working his way up from a janitor to the acting director of the Seven Prophets Orphanage, Jason now does his best to guide the youths that come under his care, knowing just how much each and every one of them is capable of.

The Seven Prophets is a reference to Jason’s original incarnation - along with many of what will undoubtedly be the next batch of characters I post. Each was chosen to be a Prophet of one of the basic elements: earth, fire, wind, water, light, darkness, and soul (yes, it was basically heart from Captain Planet, the “living” element)

Urusai and Shizuka are literally just created to be puns. Urusai means “loud” and Shizuka means “soft” (I am so fucking clever)
They were Sound Ninjas in a Naruto headcanon I briefly imagined.
Virdin and Ophelia Masters are brother and sister. They were originally introduced in a Hogwarts-esque magic school RP (see Kalen and Tamara’s entry)
Virdin was one of my many TG’d character, a male turned into a female.
Ophelia is a mute due to childhood trauma
Skye Blue (pun haha) was created when I tried to reinvigorate my interest in writing Pokemon RPs. She was supposed to be the new protagonist, who would go on a trek to find Keji and bring him home.
It never went anywhere, but she was cute.
Kiido was the protagonist of a somewhat short-lived Digimon headcanon.
Not much else to say. Like Keji he was basically just a generic anime protagonist. He never really got much of a chance to shine later like Keji either.
His digimon was a homebrew creation called Nyuukimon, named after his father.

Etsuko Shirobara is, in many ways, a more successful version of her sister. More charming than Himeko, more traditionally attractive than Himeko, more successful than Himeko, more ambitious than Himeko, to most people, compared to the golden child that is Etsuko, Himeko is almost something of a screw up.
Unfortunately, with talent and ambition often comes obsession, and Etsuko can often use her ambition as an excuse for stepping over, or even on, other people in her pursuit of success. A naturally deceptive woman who can use her charisma to get what she wants without a shred of guilt, Etsuko is as dangerous as she is successful.

Etsuko is...maybe not the primary villain of the Sailor Scouts RP, but definitely the primary antagonist. She was a constant presence in the RP as Himeko’s more successful, well-liked sister before she even appeared, and when she finally did, she usurped the Sailor Moon wand from Himeko.
She got better.
Etsuko eventually became “Sailor Nemesis,” receiving a special Scout Wand from Queen Beryl to represent Beryl’s planet, Nemesis.
She would keep this wand even after Beryl was defeated.

The last ones, I promise
I mean, there are two more planets...
Far in the deserts of Whimsy Oasis lies a strange oasis, a lush greenscape with a mysterious temple within occupied by three strange, seemingly-alien women: Serena Moon, Afagh Vector, and Afsoneh Epoch. Not much is known about these ladies, except that they seem to be far more than they appear, coming and going throughout the Whimsyverse at will while seeming overall unaffected by the day-to-day goings on of things. They seem to be almost beyond it all, unconcerned with all but the most important people and events...
Serena Moon is a dreamy, absent-minded woman, tall and willowy of stature, that seems to exist almost as a dream, barely registering things around her as she sees them with a dreaming gaze.

These are the last three of the Sailor Scouts: Sailors Mercury (Afagh), Saturn (Afsoneh), and Moon (Serena)
They are called the “Hidden Scouts” since they, along with Sailor Pluto (Mayumi) serve a more abstract purpose of policing certain aspects of reality (time, space, death, and dreams)
Afagh and Afsoneh are the eldest scouts, having lived during the Silver Millenium.
They are part of a trio of powerful beings that protect the “Panoptic Gates,” gates that form a link between the universe we live in and time (Afsoneh/Saturn), space (Afagh/Mercury), and Death (Mayumi/Pluto)
The three scouts are supposed to be timeless (ironically since only one represents time), but Pluto was erased from existence and her power passed to Mayumi.
Afagh has a very poor memory and is reckless, lacking any skill at planning into the future, representing her connection to space (but not time).
This is why she loves art, as it is a way to “decorate space”
Similarly, Afsoneh, who seems to be absent-minded and distant because she’s always viewing events that have happened or will happen, likes music because it is a way to “decorate time”
Serena, Sailor Moon, is the youngest scout. She is the reincarnation of Queen Serenity, Himeko’s mother from the Silver Millenium.
Like the others, she represents a connection between reality and something else, in this case dreams, as the moon represents dreams.
This is why she’s so sleepy and dreamy.
Serena took on the power of Sailor Moon when Himeko came into her own power as Sailor Sun.

V for Victory! (and vitriol)
More Sailor Senshi shenanigans...savvy?
Aurelia Hannah grew up penniless, alone, and unwanted on the streets of San Whimsy. A doggedly determined youth, she knew she was destined for more than gutter trash and fought her way into every opportunity she could, finishing school and even making her way into one of the most prestigious music academies in the city. As far as Aurelia was concerned, she would never be ignored again.
So she became a pop star.
Aurelia crafted her whole identity around this idea of never again being marginalized. She entered into the public eye with the smash single “V for Victory” and never looked back. In public, she is a brash but charming woman, but in secret she remains insecure and, in many ways, still obsessed - obsessed with fame, obsessed with money and her own greed. She remembers the pain in her feet from walking through dirty streets without shoes, and the clawing at her gut when she hadn’t eaten for a week. And she refuses to go back to that again. This is what drives her to succeed...and may also be her breaking point.

Dumisa Nkomo met a young Aurelia during a protest. Growing up as the daughter of a foreign statesman from a distant land, she was troubled by what she saw to be gross inequalities in the world. While her father, who had fought for equality in his homeland, earning a name and a station for himself in the new government, seemed content to simply represent their people as a foreign dignitary, Dumisa saw it as her role to embody change on a larger, more global scale.
Dumisa and Aurelia became fast friends. While Dumisa is a stoic, serious individual to Aurelia’s more raucus wild nature, the two seemed to compliment each other personally. The next day, after they were released from custody, they exchanged phone numbers and their blossoming friendship began.
While Dumisa has made a name for herself as Aurelia’s bodyguard and bouncer for her shows, using her impressive physique and honed physicality to protect her friend, the girl continues to pursue her political agenda in hopes of making real change, not only in San Whimsy but across the globe.

Aurelia (Sailor Venus) and Dumisa (Sailor Jupiter) serve the role of the “Outer Senshi,” though obviously their planets are not outer planets. They were introduced as antagonists in the second “season,” in a way manipulated into doing the wrong things for the right reasons.
Sailor Venus’ public identity was Sailor V. After being granted her Sailor Scout powers as a pre-teen, she rescued some children from a burning bus, which gave her a boost of publicity, which she used to jump-start her career.
Sailor V is a combination of superhero and pop idol, but no one knows she actually has magical powers.
Himeko was a huge Sailor V fan, but was disappointed when she met the brash, arrogant girl - particularly since their goals were at odds with one another.

Ok, now for something completely different...
That’s right. I did a Sailor Moon RP. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?
The Sailor Scouts don’t really exist as such in the Whimsyverse. I’ll include some information about the RP in the fun facts at the end, but I won’t bore you with the details.

Carly Rose is the wise big sister of the house. In a relationship with Himeko (see below), in many ways, she is the most mature of the group...and in other ways, she’s the most likely to sit around in her underwear playing video games all day. She comes from a wealthy family, but always felt herself to be a disappointment, so she left home, cutting herself off from any possible inheritance in the process. But she couldn’t care less, happy enough to just live her life day by day and try to make the most out of it...by having as much fun as possible.Lazy in the extreme, she is also fiercely devoted to her friends, and will always do whatever she can to help them...often by helping them help themselves. For all of her laid-back nature, Carly herself often struggles with a dark side and a temper that few see.

Himeko Shirobara is Carly’s overly-energetic girlfriend. In many ways, Himeko and Carly are two peas in a pod with their laid-back approach to life, but Carly’s strange, natural wisdom seems to keep Himeko on track more than not while Himeko’s youthful enthusiasm helps Carly during her darker and more uncertain moments. Himeko fancies herself a wannabe hero, and when she isn’t randomly running around the house wearing a home-made cape (*cough*bedsheet*cough*), she is protecting Whimsyburg as a member of the police department.

Chunhua Mu is a bit of a juxtaposition, both uncertain and determined at the same time. While seemingly nervous and shy as a doe in a headlight factory, she is simultaneously fiercely loyal to her friends and, when everything is on the line, there are few you’d want in your corner. Chunhua (or Chu-chan to her best friend Himeko) has grown a lot since meeting Himeko, who convinced her to pursue her dreams of becoming a doctor in order to help as many people as she can. Chunhua is dating Mayumi (below).

Fayina Bosova, for all of her inane silliness, is the product of a troubled childhood. Like Ria, Fayina was a young Olympian. Unlike Ria, Fayina’s parents drove her to that goal - it was never one she chose for herself. The young girl was forced to compete much younger and earlier than she should have been able to (thanks in large part to her her advanced height), and often forced to devote entire days to training. She did so gladly at first, only wanting to make her parents happy, but over time she became discontent with her life and, ultimately, ran away from home. It was a difficult choice for the girl, who had been conditioned to be highly dependent on her parents, but she quickly began to relish the freedom...as well as the thrill of being alone and constantly on the run. But she needed to survive somehow, which encouraged her to turn to a life of crime. Again, she took to this new life like a fish to water - or, more accurately, a bird to the sky - and quickly made a name for herself as a skilled cat burglar. However, after meeting Himeko and her friends, Fayina turned her life around, not only going straight, but turning both her physical prowess and her knowledge of the criminal lifestyle to bear as a police officer.

Mayumi Yamaguchi was born with a ticking clock over her head. Few expected her to live into adolescence and fewer still, even after she aged into her teens, into adulthood. She defied expectations by making it to her 18th birthday...but she didn’t make it to 19.
However, her dogged determination to return to the friends that she’d made over her short life manifested her spirit after death, and she continues to live with them as a ghost. Of course, things were awkward at first, but over time, the others were simply happy to have Mayumi around, even in such an ethereal state. Of course, her incorporeal existence makes her relationship with Chunhua - who, at times, blames herself for Mayumi’s death, believing that if she’d studied harder and become a doctor sooner (despite only being 18 when Mayumi died), she might have been able to save her - strained and difficult at times.
In life, Mayumi was a dour, morose girl, and death has done little to change that. But ironically, her lack of a constitution in her ghostly form makes her seem almost more alive now than she ever had before. She is still full of dark, cryptic wisdom and glimpses into the future, a fact which, compounded by her ghostly state, makes her even more unnerving to be around...

These six mark the original, starting roster of the team - equivalent to the original canon’s Inner Senshi. However, rather than choosing the “inner” planets, I chose to start with the more basic elements (earth, water, wind, fire)
Mayumi was not one of the original Sailor Scouts, but was childhood friends with Himeko and played a significant role in the first “season” of the RP
Carly, Sailor Mars, was originally an adult male. He was an American who began teaching at Himeko’s school and developed a crush on her - a reciprocal relationship that, due to their age difference, neither fully pursued. However, after Carly’s brother was revealed to be one of the Rainbow Gem carriers, he took on the Sailor Mars pen, which turned him into a young girl permanently.
Carly was originally intended to have a relationship with Mayumi, but I and my RP partner fell in love with the Chunhua x Mayumi ship and couldn’t not do it.
Carly did, in fact, have a relationship with Himeko for a time before beginning her destined relationship with this canon’s version of Tuxedo Mask...Vincent Dolan.
Himeko and Mayumi were played by my RP partner. The rest were my characters.

I’m here to talk to you about the SIMS Initiative...
Rookie Beland is the new Director of SIMS. A capable pragmatist, Rookie is a Director for a new age, taking over from his very traditional father, Kain (see below). While there were the obvious - and perhaps warranted - cries of nepotism when Rookie’s promotion was announced, at the end of the day, few would deny the man’s credentials, nor his capabilities. Rookie is every bit as capable as his father in nearly every way, having served as one of the most decorated SIMS operatives in living memory. What he exceeds his father in is his people skills. While Kain was a harsh, brutal man, Rookie is something of an optimist, as able and willing to round out an underperforming agent or interrogate a high-value prisoner as he is to enjoy a night out with the guys or babysit for an overworked co-worker. Rookie is a cheerful, optimistic man.. who is nonetheless capable of deadly precision and brutal efficiency when necessary...usually with a smile.

Rookie’s parents, Kain and Ellen Beland are highly successful and prominent members of the Whimsyverse society. Ellen is the respected Chief of Medicine at one of the most prestigious hospitals, a gentle and caring doctor who still finds time to meet with long-time patients despite the fact that she has earned the right to spend most of her time off the hospital floor. But she wasn’t always an esteemed doctor. She earned her stripes first as an agent of SIMS where she used her medical training to ensure that other agents - her husband included - stayed in tip-top shape. After a time, however, like many who had a soft heart and keen conscience, she couldn’t continue to knowingly have a hand in what SIMS performed. She understood the good that SIMS did behind the scenes...but for her, their actions needed to remain there, behind the scenes.
Her husband, Kain, on the other hand, is much less widely known...but no less important. As the longest-serving Director of SIMS, he spent the best years of his life protecting the Whimsyverse from threats that few knew about. Kain dallied with aliens and wizards and held his own with only his wits and his pragmatism. However, years of service left him bent and broken and the SIMS Council - an oversight committee meant to keep SIMS itself in line - finally deemed it time for Kain to retire, appointing his son to his station in his place. While his forced retirement didn’t sit well with him, Kain, always the soldier, accepted their decision and stepped down for a well-earned, though not entirely welcome retirement.

Katrina Beland is the youngest child of the Beland family and, like her parents and brother before her, an extremely capable Agent of SIMS. While she’s had much less experience than her older brother - being quite a bit younger than him - she is no less capable. However, with both a father and brother serving as her directors, Katrina found herself living in far too many shadows for her taste. This didn’t set well with the fiery girl, who hated having to simultaneously live up to unreasonable expectations as well as the niggling feeling that she was somehow able to coast along on her name alone. So as soon as she earned appropriate clearance to leave the office in which she was trained, she filed for transfer to the big city, away from her father, away from her brother...and away from her family name, so she could make her own name mean something on its own.

The Beland Family are the oldest RP characters remaining in my stable, remnants of my days playing the Paladium Game Heroes Unlimited.
This makes them (Kain in particular) over 25 years old.
Each of the Belands were superheroes in their own rights.
Kain was “Nightstalker,” literally my first real RP character. He was an edgy Batman-type who dressed like the Shadow (Lamont Cranston, not the Hedgehog).
Except since I was, like, nine his look was actually based on Darkwing Duck. I just didn’t want to admit it.
Shit.
He was also my first self-insert character. I renamed him (and rebranded him) later.
He had super strength, agility, and darkness controlling powers.
Ellen was, typical for my lazy-ass, misogynistic young self, simply designed to be Kain’s girlfriend and wife. As such, she had little in the way of personality.
Her powers were also in flux as well. Every time I created the character, she had different powers. Her most recent (and therefore most influential) incarnation was psychic.
At various times she could also control and transform into animals (which would, in some way, explain Katrina, come to think of it [see below])
Rookie was the first “second generation” character I ever made.
His powers were super strength, flight, and energy projection.
Katrina was a cat girl.
Yup, that was it. Young me was super lame. (ok, she was also super strong, as was the genetics coming from Kain, but whatever, it was still lame as hell)
Yes, her name was familiarized to Kat.
God I was so lame.
The Belands had a third, adopted child, older than Katrina. He has, unfortunately, been all but lost to the ages.
