So I rewatched narcos the other day and realised the english subtitles are like waaay wrong in this part. Eduardo actually says:

I relate to Benoit Blanc because I too was going mad without a special interest until Glass Onion happened.

I know we want to know what Phillip does so he can support both himself and Mr-designer clothes-investigator as a hobby-won't charge for solving the case-Blanc, and I've seen a lot of people say lawyer.

My idea is that he is actually either a thief or an assassin for hire and he just pretends he has this boring office job, and Blanc hasn't realized it yet, because he doesn't do well with obvious clues.

Hot Take

I want more of Phillip, BUT

I do not want him solving the mystery with Benoit.

I want Phillip to love that Benoit is a great detective, but he is someone who has no love for mysteries. He has never seen a Sherlock adaptation, nor read the book. He has never watched the Clue, nor has he played the game. He doesn't know who Miss Marple is or Hercule Poirot. He has seen "Murder She Wrote", but just cause he loves Angie.

This makes him and Benoit a perfect match because Benoit hates watching murder mystery shows as he can solve the case too easily, while Phillip just isn't interested in any crime that does not involve his husband solving the mystery.

"benoit and phillip solving a mystery on vaction." nuh uh

He would let benoit go solve the whole mystery while he sits by the pool and talks to some other famous celebrity cameo about which flour is delivers the rise in loaf form.
