1 Year, 1 Month, and 1 Week ‘Til 30

I don’t come here much anymore, mostly because I haven’t had much to say. I think that is about to change. My 29th birthday is soon, and I am excited about it. Of course, this is mostly because it is my last year in my twenties. I have learned a lot from my experiences, and I am grateful for the lessons. I feel somewhat silly wanting to do a “30 Before 30″ list, but, as a Virgo, lists are how I get things done. I have no idea what to include. I am not even sure what things I would put on the list, but I do know I want to chronicle it, and I hope whoever sees this doesn’t think I am cheesy for wanting to do so.

Consider this post #1. I am trying to get my bearings and commit to enjoying my life. Step 1 of that process (for me) has been making a big deal about my birthday. I usually don’t, and the day passes by quickly, with me having made no memories or having been celebrated in any way. Last year was especially sucky, because I had evacuated due to Hurrican Irma. This year, I am going to New Orleans to see Beyonce and Jay. My friends are coming too, which is exciting. I am committed to going and having a wonderful time. I want to take lots of selfies without feeling vain, eat what I want without feeling fat, and take up space with my friends without feeling the need to shrink.

I’m ready. So, let’s do it.
