Mockingjay isn’t fun, and it isn’t meant to be. It’s about conflict. It’s the counter-balance to the Games — the truth behind the glamor, which is the very heart of The Hunger Games franchise.
Girls on Film: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay isn’t an action movie. It’s a war movie.
In its third installment, The Hunger Games moves beyond the glitz of the first two movies to offer a hard-hitting look at the impact of war

I really liked the emphasis put on fear conditioning when they explained Peeta’s hijacking in the movie. it harkens back to the times when Snow specifically talked about fear and how hope is the only thing stronger than fear.
it’s especially poignant knowing the themes of hope and rebirth in Collins’ novels and just how much Peeta embodies this because we know in the end hope conquers fear. he overcomes the hijacking. Peeta is a survivor because he is hope, and that is so damn beautiful.

Are you, are you Coming to the tree Where they strung up a man they say murdered three. Strange things did happen here No stranger would it be If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree. Are you, are you Coming to the tree Where the dead man called out for his love to flee. Strange things did happen here No stranger would it be If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree
Are you, are you Coming to the tree Where I told you to run, so we’d both be free. Strange things did happen here No stranger would it be If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree. Are you, are you Coming to the tree Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me Strange things did happen here No stranger would it be If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree
The Hanging Tree, from Mockingjay part 1 score (HQ version)
