It's either way my dc/arrowfam fan sleeper agent awakening but I am rotating Che picking up archery now.
#also bc archers are beefy as fuck#I do understand why that isnt done bc some people would not survive that

This is what I pictured while I was reading The Scarab Path a while back: Local wet Wasp bastard (affectionate) and his inner monologue (probably) a couple of seconds before he considered robbing a tomb.
Version without text underneath the readmore
#shadows of the apt#thalric#beloved bastard ex spyman#gotta love the fact that the man's moral compass consists out of something resembling a roulette wheel and Che

Ngl if I end up isekai'ing into SotA, you'll find me trying to pet a gigantic (jumping) spider before it eats me

Exactly! The perspectives are so fun like this. I really don't understand why people just want only a 'good guy' as pov
I just got reminded of the fact that someone was complaining abt the pov of the emperor in book2 or 3 on goodreads a few months ago and it was very clear that they did not understand unreliable narrators and shit

Meanwhile, in the Commonweal... Yeah I rlly liked Heirs of the blade, I loved the various kinds of turn coat Wasps.
Yes, I am still locked in the SotA basement so I'll probably end up making enough fanart for the entirety of 2025

One thing I'm really enjoying about "Shadows Of The Apt" is the gradual increase in the scope of the world. We start the series with just the lowlands and the western edge of the wasp empire but, as the characters' worldviews grow, so does the awareness of the wider world beyond that initial setting.

Oh, SotA show in arcane style that only exists in my head, the Art of various kinden would look so cool in that style
#the dc fan in me also thinks that a gl animated show in arcane style would also be epic#especially far sector

Multiple characters in the series @ the Wasps /j
(Finally found a gif)
#shadows of the apt#I also picture spy vs spy nonsense going on in a modern au tho#and it includes spending stens money on ranch to annoy a wasp

Ngl but the turncoat Wasps and their different reasons why they deserted is for some reasons really funny and interesting to me.
There are some Wasps who thought the empire was fucked up and left, the empire didn't need them anymore or whatever Gaved has got going on. And then there are some others who killed an important person or three and committed high treason.

I also feel like I have to inform people that Hellgram's wife from city of last chances isn't the only character like that. In Heirs of the blade/SotA book 7 & a short story in Spoils of war, there's also Scutts, literal Scorpion and wife to a Scorpion guy.
#city of last chances#shadows of the apt#yes it's written by the same guy#spoilers#what if Hellgram & wife are from that world tho? /hj

In love with the way how some part of the characters in this series are in steampunk star wars while several others are facing the horrors (with one or two having no idea what's going on but they trust the professionals)

If I cried 'Boo!' now, I'd make half of them crap themselves. And I'd get shot, too, about nineteen times, so over all not worth it.
- Thalric, in Heirs of the blade.
Truly character of all times. I love him.
