Where's it made? Who brought it here? How much were they paid? Who makes it? Is it made in separate parts and put together? How much were they all paid to do this? Where do they get the materials? Who paid for that? Who brings it there? How much were they paid? Who streamlined the base materials? How much were they paid? Who gathered the base materials? Where? How much were they paid? Is it good for them? Is it good for us? Is it good for the land? Is it necessary? Is it biodegradable? How much does it hurt? Do I need it? Do I even want it?

It’s not explicitly stated in the above images, but still the important detail is on display: you bet your ass im expecting an extraordinary experience at the high price end of games. If you’re charging me $70, I better be wowed and get so many fucking hours of gameplay outta that thing. If you’re charging me $5 for a silly, goofy good time, that’s awesome!
These companies having the audacity to charge full, top end pricing for games that predictably let down their audience, need a good bell ringing.
I’ve talked about this a few times recently but an example of what I’m talking about would be BG3 vs DATV. Both cost the same and one has ENDLESS playability and story depth and choices that ACTUALLY effect the narrative. One is a disappointing end to a beloved franchise, with at best mid-tier replayability. I’m not shitting on DATV, I enjoyed it! But it costing the same as a game that blows it out of the fucking water while the studio sobs about its loss/failure, is criminal!
Gamers don’t need “extraordinary experiences”, we will create extraordinary experiences regardless of the complexity of the game. We need to be respected as a market and as people who participate in this hobby/industry to HAVE FUN, not to spend every dime we have on disappointments.

Did your parents forbid you from watching certain cartoons?
#no i famously didnt have any such rules#but my parents would randomly realize a thing was inappropriate and stop me watching it#or fuss about it#like when i watched the hangover in middle school#i was allowed to watch rated R things but when she found me watching that i got in trouble#my dad who consistently advocated for my freedoms got upset that i was listening to Kodak moment by ray J#at age 11 or so#he told me not to listen to that kind of thing and i was like ‘its literally too late for rules dude’#which is crazy for an 11 year old to say but he agreed with me and pouted about me listening to adult music
