I’ve been talking about this for years because I used to LOVE getting up early for black friday. Finding all the best deals, getting my christmas shopping done in one trip and maybe a few things for me too. Now? Im not leaving my house for 15-20% off! ESPECIALLY given the above practice of price hiking in the preceding weeks so that the deals are actually just normal price.

FWIW, amazon does what op is describing, year round. Add items to your “lists”, use a browser plugin to track pricing over time (one exists, I don’t know its name). Amazon will also adjust pricing according to your unique browsing and purchasing habits. If you are shopping for a niche item (a part for your custom gaming build, for example) ask a non-gamer friend if you can view the prices from their account. You may find discrepancies. Use available resources to block this tracking, if you are so inclined.

has anyone noticed lately how black friday deals or any type of "sale" deals aren't actually deals. like i had something on my amazon wishlist that was $19.99 before, and now it's saying it WAS $49.99 but is on sale for $19.99 for a "black Friday deal." as if it wasn't just $19.99 two weeks ago at regular price. like these damn websites atp are straight up lying and trying to trick people into thinking something is on sale/is a good deal when it's not. and this isn't exclusive to that one item or even just amazon. i've been seeing it everywhere. the fuck
