The future belongs to the young, any old person can tell you that. This is our world, and we hold it all in our hands. You can instruct us, you can sit us in your musty old rooms and show us your books and tell us to read, but while you flicker out we burn brighter. We own tomorrow and the tomorrow after that and every other tomorrow until the we ourselves begin to fade. We are the future, we are loud and unhinged, we are reckless and careless. We’re everything you were, we’re everything you dreamed you could be.+ EST. 1902

IC INFORMATION
Name: Finn O’Shay Preferred Pronouns: He/His Faceclaim: Caleb Landry Jones Grade: Senior Birthday: September 19, 1996 Hometown: Hoxie, Kansas House: Artemis Boarder or Townie: Townie Activities: None. Quote: “Philosophy is common sense with big words.” Biography: Finneus Ivan O’Shay was born to a farmer and his doting wife in the secluded Kansas back roads somewhere in between Selden and Hoxie. As the only child of two only children, Finn spent most of his Christmases in the confines of their meager farmhouse, but was always remembered fondly when his grandfather would visit—he would travel all the way from New York City to present his grandson with the most expensive gifts, all with the approval of Finn’s lackadaisical father. Finn’s father was hardworking, and for the better part of his young life, Finn spent the majority of his time reading on the couch with his mother or playing in the fields with the family bird dog. Homeschooling was the most appropriate method for early education; he lived too far from any public school, and his parents couldn’t afford a second car to take their son to school every day.
When Finn’s grandfather passed away, the O’Shay family grieved as they lived: in private. And, as they grieved, the O’Shay family was left with a gift to cushion the blow— the entire estate of Finn’s late grandfather. As requested, his home in New York was sold and the money was set aside with several million more in a bank account that was to remain dormant until Finn turned eighteen. Deciding the money wasn’t any real reason to change their lives, a small portion of the money was spent on expanding their home in Kansas and the rest was put away to collect interest while Finn’s father continued his duty as a farmer.
By the time high school came around, Finn’s parents decided it was time to enroll Finn in public school, since the transportation was affordable. Immediately, it became clear that Finn had no intention of fitting in; he withdrew from social situations in class and ultimately ended up with a small, select group of friends, primarily older than him. By his sophomore year, all but one of them had graduated, and Finn quickly found that he wasn’t nearly exciting enough to maintain the friendship any longer. Before long, his time spent alone was a running joke around the high school, and the bullying began to alienate Finn even more.
Finn decided quickly that school in Kansas simply wasn’t for him—it felt trivial, focused so entirely on sports and popularity. So, he recommended a private school in New York where he was certain he’d have better odds of finding people he had more in common with. Unfortunately, the move to New York didn’t heed exactly the results that he was hoping for; a firmly pretentious attitude won him entirely no friends, and for the first few months Finn was sure he’d have to transfer at the end of the year due to his social ineptitude. However, Hannah came about, and Finn figured that staying may not be such a bad idea.
Soon, Finn and Hannah spent as much time as possible together, and after learning that Hannah had reservations about her family, Finn was more than happy to invite Hannah to spend the holidays with his family, who took to her immediately. The two lovers enjoyed their honeymoon period for several months before chaos erupted after a classmate got his hands on a home-made video of theirs.
Finn, of course, wasn’t bothered at all by the discovery of the tape. Nothing really ever bothered Finn—he was aloof, disinterested, and ultimately careless. In fact, he had considered ignoring the situation altogether, but due to the scandal Hannah lost her scholarship and Finn was faced with finding the solution to the problem. Initially, he had reservations about leaving the school, as he had begun to make a couple of friends and that had, ultimately, been the goal. However, Finn decided eventually that he was sure there were better people out there—people he had more in common with; people who would challenge him intellectually and appreciate his own thoughts.
Finn O’Shay suggested moving to a school with a better educational program, knowing it would be important for him to get into a college that he was satisfied with. Truly, Finn yearned for a place that he could fit into better than his Kansas high school and the New York school they had attended before; he was sure that there were people out there who would appreciate his (however strange) personality and welcome him as a friend, and though Finn never dared to admit his yearning, he wanted to be surrounded by people that understood him. He knew this move would also, in turn, allow the two teens to escape the scandal that they had created at their school, and soon the decision was made.

Note
Why has there been so many unfollows recently?
I don't know; they've mainly been due to inactivity, in which case we don't get the chance to have a dialogue with the player about why they're dropping.
