KRUM 24 is on the air.
KRUM-LD 24 is on the air with what looks to be religious programming in Spanish. There is a crawl at the bottom which includes their phone number and email address to get more information. Depending on your receiver you may pick up the signal on 24.1 and 24.2 or 24.3 and 24.4. One TV I have picks up 24.3/24.4 and an HDTV box I have picks up 24.1/24.2. Either way, it's the same programming on both channels.
KRUM seems to be using the moniker, "El Canal de la Familia WA" which pretty much means "The Family Channel of WA."

MundoFox is on the air & KUSE changes.
MundoFox has finally arrived to Western Washington tv sets after debuting nationally in August. It is currently broadcasting on KUNS 51.2, the subchannel for Univision Seattle.
After checking out the first few minutes of Noticias MundoFox just now, I noticed that while the broadcast is in Spanish, the news ticker at the bottom is predominately in English. Interesting.
Also KUSE 46 has a few changes. Hot TV is moving from 46.2 to 46.5 and added Peace TV to 46.2.
46.1 KUSE - Cubana 46.2 KUSE - Peace TV 46.3 KUSE - SBN, no change - still Jimmy Swaggart classics 46.4 KUSE - Wizebuy - still infomercials 46.5 KUSE - Hot TV 46.6 KUSE - no description, airing color bars
Peace TV describes itself as a "24-hours (sic) Islamic TV channel broadcasting “Free to Air” state-of-the-art TV Programmes in English and Urdu." More info can be found here.

Thank you, KONG and KOMO.
I just want to thank KONG TV 16 and KOMO TV 4.2 for showing a local sport live on over-the-air television.
So many sports have gone to cable and it is amazing that here in Seattle, KONG is airing the Sounders live and on another local channel, the Sounders are being shown in Spanish! AMAZING.
Kudos to KONG and KOMO for making the effort to promote local sports!

¿KONG 6/16 y MundoFox?
According to RabbitEars, it's true. It's sort of odd since KCPQ 13.2 is blank since AccuWeather has been removed. I figured MundoFox would end up there. However, it's not too crazy since KCPQ isn't a Fox owned and operated station. I guess we'll find out in 12 more days.

KUSE 46.1, a joke.
Well, KUSE 46.1 (Cubana de Televisión) is now is having some sort of satellite reception problems. I receive the channel perfectly, but they're broadcasting the channel with a "No signal!" icon on the screen mixed with occasional pixelated Cubana de Televisión programming.
This comes after debuting the channel with no audio, for several days.
Once again, KUSE, a joke of a TV station.

Update: July 17- Video came back, but it still cuts out a bit, is stretched/zoomed, and the audio is out of sync by approx. one second. Ha!

Cubana de Televisión is on the air, sort of.
Over the weekend KUSE-LD 46.1 began broadcasting Cubana de Televisión programming. In typical KUSE TV fashion, the kinks haven't really been worked out. Since I first came across it on Saturday, there hasn't been any audio on 46.1. It's Tuesday evening now. Not the best way to debut.
Sadly, I don't speak Spanish, although I suppose it wouldn't matter even if I did, but many of the shows seem to consist of a lot of women dancing around to older men singing in what looks like variants of Cuban bars, sort of like a low-budget Sábado Gigante. Maybe someone can explain this to me.
46.5 and 46.6 remain color bars at this time.
UPDATE: Cubana de Televisión now has audio.

KVOS 12.2 The Cool TV off the air.
The very awesome website, NW Broadcasters, reports that KVOS 12.2 (The Cool TV) is off the air while a server is being relocated to Seattle. It should be back in the first week of June.

Q13 Fox Forecast First is off the air
KCPQ has removed Fox Forecast First from Accuweather from 13.2. No word on what will be replacing it, however, MundoFox, a new Spanish language channel from Fox will be launching this fall and could be a candidate.

KSTW has become quite stagnant from the station it once was. The station once branded as KSTWashington used to have a strong, local focus which included Seattle Mariners baseball and a 10pm newscast. Lately, it's been dying a slow death as just another CW station.
The CW and KSTW are owned by CBS Corp. and since KIRO is our CBS affiliate, and owned by Cox, KSTW seems like somewhat of an afterthought.
In recent months, KCPQ has expanded its news programming from a morning and 10pm newscast to include 4pm and 5pm newscasts and a 9pm newscast on JoeTV.
JoeTV has also improved standing out as something different than a second-tier network affiliate (MY Network TV).
Hopefully, the hiring of Boe for KSTW bring in some fresh air to the CW11 station and hopefully a rebranding of KSTW. Something similar to one of Boe's former stations, NW32 in Portland would be nice. Actually, what would be awesome would be an updated version of their classic circle-11 logo from the 80s and 90s!

(ps. just keep it short, KSTW not KSTWashington and center it... that always drove me crazy!)

This is very interesting. Twin Cities' Hubbard Broadcasting is interested in acquiring Tribune Co.'s broadcast assets. In Seattle, Tribune's assets include KCPQ and KZJO (Joe TV).

KFFV & KUSE updates
I noticed a few changes on two stations this evening. KFFV and KUSE, two channels known mostly for inconsistent programming, have tinkered with their stations a bit. 44.1 KFFV - now listed as "CRTV," still infomercials 44.2 KFFV - still Azteca America Seattle 44.3 KFFV - still programming from AAT TV, still listed as AATV. 44.4 KFFV - added as "Untamed Sports" 46.1 KUSE - now listed as "Cubana" with color bars 46.2 KUSE - Hot TV, which I believe was on 46.1 now is on 46.2 46.3 KUSE - SBN, no change - still Jimmy Swaggart classics 46.4 KUSE - now listed as "Wizebuy," still infomercials 46.5 KUSE - no description, airing color bars 46.6 KUSE - no description, airing color bars Glad to see a few changes. Untamed Sports is not really my thing, but fans of outdoor "sports" such as hunting and fishing as well as some extreme sports will get a kick out it.
I'm hoping KUSE will begin to show something interesting with one of their subchannels. Hot TV is a cool idea for a channel, but the programming is just a bit too old/wholesome for me to enjoy and doesn't air many of the tv classics you can watch on RTV or Antenna TV. I can live without SBN/Jimmy Swaggart programming, but since KUSE is a channel where someone can pay to lease a subchannel I don't see that going away anytime soon. Same with infomercial subchannels. I have little hope for something decent on 46.5 or 46.6, it'd be cool but it probably won't happen.

Winter Extreme? Seriously, not a lot of thought in that one. Awful.

Seriously? There needs to be cameras mounted to the bottom of KOMO’s vehicles to show us road conditions? It’s snow, not lava. This is not anything too extraordinary.
