josie: didn't know you didn't go to him, he said i was partying a lot and i thought you told him, sorry.
josie: i don't blame you for my problems with dante. i blame you for beginning his break down.
josie: you're not my friend. you're nice to me because you love dante, you give a shit for brownie points.
Wesley: A promise is a promise, right? I've been trying to quit going back on those lately.
Wesley: Yea, that part is my fault. I'll own it. Fair enough.
Wesley: That's not true. Don't wanna consider me a friend, that's fine. But I'm not nice for brownie points and I'm a little hurt you think so lowly of me... I don't get brownie points for keeping secrets from him, you know.
Wesley: Just... try to talk to someone, okay? If something's going on... he's worried about you, Jose. Is he good at getting that point across? Probably not. But he /is/ worried.

josie: what did i throw you under the bus for ??
josie: you know you caused his break down, if he left i'd have no-one and now we barely even speak and when we do he treats me like garbage.
josie: it's already at it's worse, not telling you isn't going to do shit.
Wesley: Keeping secrets from your brother for you ??? Don't play dense, babe. Not cute.
Wesley: Well the break down is over now. Whatever is going on between the two of you still can't be my fault. Or was probably something said in the midst of things that needs to be hashed out. Don't blame me because you and your brother both have a temper that rival each other.
Wesley: Right, apologies. I retract my offer of attempting to be there for a friend. If you change your mind you know where to find me.

Josie: i don't want your help. you're the one who made him want to leave.
Wesley: What, I didn't...
Wesley: Look, Dante is a grown man. If he wants to run away from things that's on him. I don't puppeteer him.
Wesley: And you know, I know you threw me under the bus littlest Ramirez. You should be grateful I still want to be nice to you.
Wesley: Fine, don't let me help you. But consider this: if whatever you're going through is that bad, it'll only get worse if you keep bottling it up.

Josie: dante's worry is mixed with a toxic venom that comes from his mouth everytime he thinks someone is down, he makes sure to kick them down a little further.
Josie: Anything that was going on he made worse.
Wesley: I'm sure he doesn't mean to do that, Jose. He's just... not good with his words, you know? Or handling serious situations in general.
Wesley: What was going on though? What did he make worse? Maybe /I/ can help.

A deep frown etched into Dante’s features. “That’s.. not making me feel any less worried, Wes. Besides, those are two totally different situations. Josie doesn’t know how to take care of herself. She needs me to look after her and protect her, okay?” he explained, breathing out a soft sigh. “I’ve tried doing that but she just got really angry for no reason. It’s like she’s angry all the time for no fucking reason. I really don’t know where she gets that from.” he shrugged his shoulders, completely missing the irony in his statement. “Like, she gave me shit for wanting to leave, but now that I decided to stay she’s still pissed off. It’s like I can’t win with her. Maybe I should have just left. Like, not permanently, but I think I wanna go on a trip or something after graduation.”
“All I’m trying to say is that it’s normal for kids her age to be a little adventurous. You need to let her learn how to take care of herself eventually, babe.” Wesley said softly, looking up at Dante with a sympathetic expression. When Dante brought up his sister’s anger, Wesley had to bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing right in Dante’s face. Instead he just shrugged his shoulders. “No possible idea where she could have gotten that from at all.” he said, his voice an octave higher as he tried not to laugh. Wesley’s face lit up at the mention of a trip and he quickly nodded his head yes. “Let’s go on a trip together! It could be so fun! Spending sometime together, just you and me... alone.” with a grin, he shuffled back over to Dante so he could throw his arms back around Dante’s neck and give him a smile. “Where do you feel like going, handsome? The Mediterranean is really nice. Or maybe Saint Lucia? Somewhere with a beach that isn’t our crappy one, you know? OR MAYBE DISNEY? ..... Whatever you wanna do though, I just wanna be with you.”

“Bullshit. She’s nineteen and she’s my little sister. Josie shouldn’t be drinking alcohol, so I don’t get why you’d hide it from me.” he replied, handing Wesley his laptop. “Look, I’m not mad at you, but Josie has been acting crazy lately. Like.. crazier than any other girl I know, and I don’t know what to think or do about it. She doesn’t tell me shit and I’m just worried, okay?” Dante spoke softly, biting down on the inside of his cheek. “Promise me you’ll tell me next time?”
“When I was nineteen I was getting plastered at different bars all over New York City.” Wesley mumbled, positive it wouldn’t help his case but he still needed to make the point. When Dante told him he wasn’t mad, Wesley breathed out a sigh of relief; finally looking up again and taking Dante’s laptop into his hands. Giving a nod of his head, he offered the other a smile. “Next time I see her doing anything I’ll let you know, okay? She’s a teenage girl. Teenage girls do weird things sometimes. Try sitting her down and having an actual conversation with her about it.” he told him, opening the lid of the laptop and starting to type.

Dante’s face flushed cherry red when Wesley wrapped his arms around him, and he nearly dropped his laptop when he felt the blonde’s lips brush against his cheek. “N-Nothing. I haven’t done anything yet. Well, aside from ordering some booze. Speaking of which…” he glanced over his shoulder at Wesley. “Why didn’t you tell me that you saw Josie buy alcohol?” Dante asked, narrowing his eyes. “She told me you knew, so don’t bother trying to deny it, Wes.”
“I can help fix that you know.” he said with short laugh, one that came to an end when Dante brought up his sister. The narrowed eyes was enough to Have Wesley retreat; letting go of Dante so he could it back on his heals. “It wasn’t my business to share.” he said softly, picking at his nail beds. “Josie’s an adult, a college student. Why should her buying alcohol raise any red flags that I need to run and tell you about it?”

Removing his headphones from his ears, Wesley shook his head at the other; panting slightly. “I wouldn’t call what I just did a light run.” he said matter of factly. “I probably make your ‘light run’ look like a jog.... but how was it? The light run, I mean.”
‘ morning. did you finish a light run as well? ’

Wesley narrowed his eyes at the other male in a glare. “I’ll have you know I’m over the age of twenty-one sir.” He grumbled, reaching into the pocket of his jeans to pull out his wallet. “I have no problem giving you my I.D. I also have no problem reporting to your manager that you’re talking to people like that.”
“I don’t know what kind of bar you think this is, but I’m not going to forget to check I.D.” Leo said, clearly exasperated. “Hand over your I.D. or go bar hop underage somewhere else.”

Rolling his eyes, Wesley got on his knees so he could crawl across Dante’s bed and wrap his arms around Dante’s shoulder’s from behind. “You could.” he said, leaning his head down on Dante’s shoulder and looking up at him. “But that risks having to pay someone only for them to screw everything up. How about instead of throwing a fit you just let me help you, hm?” he offered, giving Dante a sweet smile. “Why don’t you show me what you got so far and I’ll tweak some stuff. Plus, you know, working so closely together sounds like it could be fun.” Wesley finished with a soft giggle before pressing a kiss to Dante’s cheek and turning his head to look forward. Motioning with his hand towards the laptop, he signaled for Dante to open it and show him his hard work
“This party planning is such a hassle. I’m fucking over it.” Dante grumbled, slamming the lid of his laptop shut in frustration. “I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time on it. I’m Dante Ramirez, I could just pay someone to do it for me, right?”

“Then what is it that I’m doing right now? I’m talking to you, aren’t I?” Dante pointed out, letting out a frustrated groan. When he stood in front of the door of apartment building where Wesley lived, he finally put the other male down. “Okay.. whatever then. You’re right, Wes. I can’t force you to stay.” he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning his back against the door. “But I.. I don’t want you to leave. I really don’t.” he added softly, biting his teeth down on his bottom lip. “I’m angry with you, yeah. But.. you’re also my best friend, so…” he paused, awkwardly shuffling his feeth for a moment. “That hasn’t changed. That’s not going to change, I guess. Not even if you break every promise you’ve ever made or move to another planet, okay? I say and do a lot of stupid things when I’m angry, yeah. But those are just words, you know? And we both know words aren’t my strong point.” Dante swallowed hard, before adding, “-But I just know that regardless of what happens between us, you’ll always be my best friend, Wes…”
Once back on his feet, Wesley started inspecting his clothing and dusting himself off. He listened to Dante in the process of looking himself over for any damage, Dante’s little best friend speech only making him feel worse about the situation. As great as it was to know Dante would never cut him off, it made his heart heavy knowing that being his best friend was the only place he’d ever stand with Dante. Resisting the urge to let how upset it made him show, Wesley took in a deep breath and nodded his head. “And you’ll always be my best friend, D. You know that...” he said, trailing off and finally looking up at Dante. “But that’s one of the reason’s I needed to get out of this place. I can’t stay around here and deal with that anymore, I can’t. I really did mean it when I told you I love you and... being around you kinda hurts... I hope you don’t take that personally. It’s not your fault but... I’m always gonna want you as more than a best friend; maybe going somewhere else will let me clear my heart of that.” Wesley spoke softly, hands ringing together as he did thanks to how this conversation was making him feel. “We both deserve that. So, I need to get away for a little while.”

“Nah, you’re not going to be late. You can’t be late if you aren’t going to the airport at all, Wes.” Dante corrected him, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. Although no problem was solved so far, Dante found himself becoming more relaxed now that he had prevented Wesley from leaving town. For a moment it even felt like nothing had changed between them, until Wesley started hitting and kicking him. “Ouch, that hurts, dammit! Stop throwing such a fit over this already!” he yelled back. “I’m glad it’s not funny because I’m not joking! I.. I don’t want you to go, okay? And you already broke one promise to me, so you can’t just go and break another one.”
Letting out a huff, Wesley let himself go limp in Dante’s arms; deciding that fighting back was no use at this point. “Me? ME THROWING A FIT? You literally just carried me away from my taxi, Dante! If anyone is throwing a fit here, it’s you!” Wesley muttered, looking over his shoulder in an attempt to glare at his ex-best friend. “Why does me breaking this promise even matter? So what if I go? We’re not friends anymore! Whether I’m here, or somewhere else, it doesn’t make a difference. Because either way, you won’t talk to me anymore! Why can’t I just go live my life without having to stay here and deal with the idea of that? Why do you want me to be miserable so badly? I’m sorry I did what I did, I suck for it, I’m the worst person to ever exist, ever, I know that! But trying to punish me like this just isn’t fair!” Wesley ranted, taking in a shuttered breath and shaking his head. All he wanted was to get away from all of the bad, he thought he deserved that much.
