As a fox with a pet bird, same
It's very funny how lately I am OBSESSED with this channel and their content
It is mainly focused on Guinea Pigs and pet care, but occasionally there's also rabbits/bunnies and rescues.
You'd think, yea that's cool Pony, but how is that related to you being a wolf/cat?
I am watching my prey
I AM WATCHING MY PREY
This shit is live bird watching but I wanna groom em and take care of em instead of actually chase em down even if not for hunting purposes, They look so round and cute! They are like pups! Must protect!!!

And even if the wearer is sexualizing it, so what? As long as they’re not hurting anyone, why should it matter?
Animal packers are valid.
Some therians need to understand that not all therians get the same dysmorphia. Some therians get genital dysmorphia. You're the only one sexualizing it.

I’m not a fan of physical contact with anyone, but yeah. A lot of human society is centered around ignoring what’s natural. Huddling for warmth and hugging to show affection are normal things that some see as strange in a lot of circumstances
Anyone else wish huddling/cuddling was more normalized with folk outside your partner? With it getting cold outside, I wish nothing more than to be close and huddle with all my loved ones. And not in a romantic sense, but more in a sense where a pack of animals keep close with one another to conserve body heat and make it through the winter.
It’s hard to bring this up to humans. Of course you can get hugs from family and snuggles with a significant other, but anyone outside of that will take it the wrong way. But I’m an animal! I yearn to be touched! I want to cuddle close to my companions and keep them warm! I want to feel connected!

Yeah, fun fact - trying to “control” your emotions is generally a bad idea. It’s more about what you do with how you feel. Personally, I like to try to channel my anger and frustration into art.
I never liked the human concept of "controlling" your emotions. Masking them. Not acting out on them. Very odd and unusual to me. Why am i not to defend myself, bark and show my teeth when threatened? I'm meant to fight back, not make myself small and meek until the oppresor goes away. I'm meant to bite, claw, growl and hiss. I'm meant to show my strength and willpower, not hide it.

There’s a brand called Scarecrow that makes fangs that you can customize to fit over your teeth. They’re not cheap, but they’re good. Usually sold in Halloween stores, but you could probably find them online. They make sets for just upper fangs, or ones for both upper and lower fangs
NEED FANGS!!!!!!!!

I watched a disproportionate amount of wolf documentaries as a kid. I’ve always watched nature documentaries, but wolves have always been my thing. Went to a wolf sanctuary more than once, but one time, one of the wolves licked my hand. Another time, one wolf was pacing back and forth, then stopped right in front of me. He looked at me, then howled. Of course, I howled with him. I think that had a part to play. But then, wolves generally only howl at/towards other wolves. Maybe he knew something I didn’t at the time.
Of course, I did grow up around dogs, and to this day I find them easier to understand and communicate with than humans. That might be an autism thing, though.
But with my other kintypes (silver fox, spotted hyena, dragon, bearded vulture, hellhound), I’ve got no idea. I’ve never even seen any of those in the real world. I have seen red foxes, though.
Also, fun fact - zebras are more closely related to donkeys than to horses, hence why humans don’t ride them - their backs aren’t really able to hold a human.
A lot of us in the nonhuman community had pets or livestock that we were around all the time as children. For some of us, we consider a potential cause of our identities to be from imprinting.
If this is the case for you, does your kintype(s) match any of the animals you grew up with?
For clarification, "exact same" means you grew up with domestic dogs/horses/etc. and have a domestic dog/horse/etc. kintype.
"Similar" means you grew up with domestic dogs/horses/etc. and have a wolf/zebra/etc. kintype. (Same family, different species.)
"Equivalent" would be for things like mythical species, such as unicorns/pegasi basically being horses, or fictional species, such as viperwolves from Avatar basically being wolves.
"Only vaguely similar/similar non-physically" would be in cases such as being raised with horses and being an animal with hooves or a similar herd mentality, like a deer or buffalo.

Exactly. I don’t understand the scene subculture, and to be honest, I find wearing bright, flashy colors to be a little bit strange. But you know what? That’s my problem. And who am I to tell others what they should and shouldn’t do. Wear what you want. As long as no one is getting hurt, it’s not my business. I don’t have to like or even understand what someone is doing; if it makes them happy, why should I cause problems?
A lot of y’all don’t realize that if you have the philosophy of “if it’s cringe but harmless then it’s fine and people shouldn’t get bullied for it” that has to apply to the things you personally think are cringe too.

Another store that’s a lot like Hot Topic is one called Spencer’s. The people there are generally chill. Do be aware that they sell adult toys, so if you’re a minor, don’t go into the back of the store. Or do, I’m not a cop. But don’t say I didn’t warn you
For those that want to public gear but are to scared to start
If you're area is safe do so at all, I would recommend going to the mall and hanging out in stores like hot topic! One of the only times I've worn ears in public I was at the mall and I got so many compliments there, easy stress-free environment that lets you start getting used to public gear and have a less likely chance of getting weird looks or anything like that, I cant guarantee you wont get that but at least from my experience it was very pleasant, did get stared down from a random old dude tho- that was near the food court though so not surprised 😭
