If you’re going to use the argument that the main trio shouldn’t be criticized for doing something wrong “bc they were teens”, then you can’t also drag characters like Draco for being an asshole saying “he was old enough to know better.” It goes both ways. Yes, circumstances are different, but everyone should be held accountable and no one should be hyper criticized for stupid teenaged-fueled actions. To say otherwise is extremely hypocritical.

You know what irks me about this fandom? The confessions where they express a desire for something new *that’s already in Cursed Child*, thus displaying their illogical dislike of it due to their ignorance of it’s contents and a desire for said contents. I hate all the whining about J.K. Rowling about LGBT representation. She was writing a children’s book in the early 90’s of course she didn’t make Dumbledore expressly gay she wouldn’t have got it published! Not every story can cover every walk of life. Should more be done in this day & age to write inclusive books that validate all the differences we have and celebrate them… of course! If you write an ostensibly Hinny fanfic but have Harry and Ginny break up in the last chapter, then you haven’t really written a Hinny fanfic. If your intent is to break them up so that you can pair them with other characters in the sequel, but you tag the story as hinny anyway, then you have lied to your readers.

Snape was racist in the past. In the books, he does not say one racist thing. Yes, he’s an asshole—but he’s equally horrid to Hermione (Muggleborn) and Neville (Pureblood). So after reading the comments, my earlier assumption of the Romione shippers’ stance has been clarified. You are allowed to dislike Romione. But if you dare criticize it or complain about it at all, they’ll consider any negative comments to be bashing and that is Not Okay. So, you’re allowed to dislike this ship, but you can never ever tell people WHY. Sounds fair.

All these people trying to offer less “problematic” alternatives to popular ships like Drarry and Dramione make me laugh. They remind me of adults in the churches I grew up in, offering kids “Christian” alternatives to My Chemical Romance and Flogging Molly. Maybe we don’t need alternatives. Maybe the original provides something unique and good that the more “wholesome” alternative just doesn’t have.
